steven recently got his nizpro shaft installed. If I remember correctly Dawsey had his gearbox rebuilt ages ago and in the meanwhile nizpro have been making little changes along the way to improve their shaft.

Nah no time frame mate. I have asked on numerous occasions, but nobody, including Jesus knows when the shaft will be ready. But I do know that it is in the final stages. In the end it will be worth it , just a test of patience. I bet even Joe is getting frustrated haha

ye mate , Spiro quoted me $6k. No point stressing over what clutches are used, too late for that. All I know is that my stage 2 will be rated to 600rkw, if any problems ever arise, I'm just going to leave the car at CMS doorstep and say "not my problem" :D on a side note: Dear Mr billet input shaft maker, Could you please hurry up and finish the shaft already, the car has been at the workshop for 6 weeks and I am starting to lose my chit now, really stressing me out. george which clutches does autotech use ?

Anything wrong with the standard ones ? I hope I have the latest in the box, after all I am spending a good 6.7k

I think the bmw ones , it involves machining the box doesn't it ? I'll ask him next time I go in and let you guys know

are bmw clutches same as exedy ? I think joe uses the bmw ones at the moment , not 100% sure

What power level are these SA built gearboxes rated to ?

rebuild it yourself, buy a billet input shaft and some exedy clutches and here is the rebuild procedure video, happy days :D

Warranty exists if a shop is confident in their product, with the stage 2 box Joe told me I will have 12 months or 20000km warranty , whichever comes first

ye the stuff Joe uses is solid !! I think its safe to discuss ballpark prices now. The CMS billet shaft is going to be around the $1950 mark( nizpro shaft is $2300) , I was quoted $795 for a CMS cryo shaft. CMS stage 2 box with CRYO is around $5500 , that would mean that CMS stage 2 with BILLET should be $5500 + (1950-795) = $6655 I have already paid CMS $6k, that should mean I owe them $655 , ballpark figures, so plus or minus a hundred or two At least I have a piece of mind that the bloke that built my transmission is also the one that is tuning my car , and CMS is only 5 mins from my house. Also keep in mind that CMS do extra things like new solenoids and other modifications that others dont do, CMS stage 2 price isnt too bad IMO

waste of time and money, because when/if your standard input shaft lets go it will end up costing you more,you will have to pay to take the gearbox out of the car again, then pay more money for new oil. Also go and have a chat to : -Autotech engineering, -Dominello transmissions -BTA motorsport . I completely forgot to ask BTA motorsport for their transmission prices when shopping around, there is a Fg F6 that is running low 10's on a BTA built gearbox and tuned at C&V performance

how can you tell if it's a Traffic 3 xr6t?

mine was an unmarked one , still came with brembos and fpv wheels seats are sometimes in bad shape, but wreckers have spares, I got lucky and got one in good condition

yeah the cops probably thrashed it, but I do the same. If fussy then buy a normal xr6t from carsales and hope the owner hasn't ' thrashed it ' otherwise ponny up and buy a brand new one Happy with my ex cop car , it's now making 477rwkw, bought it with 100,000km on the clock and it has now done around 127,000km

dropped off my tailshaft @ propellor shaft services today, going with 2.5" cro mo retube, once billet input shaft arrives and gearbox is in, she is heading down to WSID ASAP, anyones guess what she will run down the strip

I might get my car tuned at CMS soon, will talk to Joe and see how much power he can get out of mine, I'd be happy with 50kw more than stock

Best form of alarm would be to hide your keys and not leave them on benchtops or other common places

some middle eastern bloke jumped the fence into our backyard and was peeping through home theatre room, bolted as soon as he saw my sister, wish I was home. Please come back again tonight . I think I might put GPS tracking in my turbo once it comes back from CMS , can never be too safe
