Depends on what power levels your going to aim for. I just went through this just last few days and have made my decision based on what I have read on the forums. I am aiming for 320ish at the wheels I decided on Process West Stepped cooler NO CUTTING (I think there is forum member running 10's with this cooler so more than what I ever need) Just the Airbox mod with better filter. I would only change my air box if I got for a bargain 2nd hand.... Paul

Prob in the wrong place! I live metro was yet to have anything beat the Sti at a traffic light run mind you had 265awkw. My mate had senator 6lt modified used keep it behind on 1/4 run but he would be hauling me in. But anyway can't wait see what my new car feels modded dont want make this wrx vs xr thread. Impact near the front drivers side wheel. It was hard enough to shatter rear window and rear windscreen. To be honest I thought car was repairable but when I saw up on the hoist Chassis had big kink in it.

Car was brought back to my crash repairer in Adelaide its long gone now... I have some parts off my older WRX around... APS CAI VF28 turbo unichip if your interested. Mine was insured lol... Just the other diks wasn't..... I got paid out but no where near what was put in.... Yes that was the intercooler.... Brand spanking new I wanted black but polished will do....

Hi all, Just my story! So I have been a member on this forum for ages (maybe 10 years) as I have always loved these cars. Learn't so much off these forums. In 2004 I nearly bought a BA XR6T but bought a WRX instead. In 2011 I was about to upgrade to FG XR6T but found WRX STI at price that I couldn't refuse! 2013 I was T-Boned by a daewoo lanos (No insurance) in Murray Bridge! Only month after I had my car fully resprayed!! Car was written off :((((( 2014 Since my accident I can't get into STI seats without discomfort. A week ago I bought G6ET. First impression was I love these seats!!! So comforable. An she goes allright aswell. It is not as fast as sti (modified) and probably little less fun to drive but I think for the price an amazing peice car. My plan was to keep it stock but I found a new PW intercooler on gumtree 3 days after buying the car at price to good pass so mods will begin after the melb GP! Thanks for the replies guys. I remember reading way back on here. That you should stall it up in second and then shift to first when releasing the brakes is that still the consensus? Or better to stall it up in 1st? Paul

Hi guys. I took fg g6et for a test drive other day I was wondering if this is normal. I drove it around a corner and when it straightend up I floored it. But had to back off really quick as it was 80 zone. But when I did the car held whatever gear it was in for about 5-6 seconds before shifting into next gear even though I had backed off. Guys I ended up purchasing from Cebco. My oldman was in melb so he could just pick the stuff. Cebco was cheapest for me for orginal brembo gear. AND I rang bloody every where. Guys just to add to this topic, When getting your brakes changed make sure you get the thickness of ya rotors checked independently and not from ford. I got appointment with a very reputable mechanic in my area to change the Pads and Discs. He thought he'd check thickness of the rotors and said they still have a waaay to go on the them. So all did was change the pads. Well at least I got the rotors in ma garage now to change wheneva I need tooo. Paulie..

Hey guys, Our GT has chewed through its Rotors and Pads. Our for dealer quoted me something stupid to replace them. What options do I have??? I dont know much about brembo's. With my WRX I jus threw out my old rotors and put DBA's in it was easy and cheap and used some ferrodo pads. Have other companies made rotors to fit premium package that are lil cheaper??? Wha have other people on here done and how much it set ya back? Cheers Paulie

OK guys I might have savings for you all. I used to own a WRX modded and my insurance was thro the roof. I came along a company thro a fellow rexnetter called RYNO insurance. They cut my premiums by $700 a year and excess remained the same. Also all my mods were covered. 67 rexnetters have saved $40,927 so far in permiums. I think only conditions are must have lock up garage. I heard stories about some people getting refused for no apparent reason. Just depends on the person you get. My father saved $1000 on his GT-P. Ring 1300 650 670 to get the best quote. Tell them you read about them on REXNET. Dont bother with it online. Paulie.... Let me kno how the savings go and if there is any on XRT???
