Windows 8 Phone For Ba/bf Factory Bluetooth
ccpl replied to aiboart's topic in Audio/Visual Workshop
Not sure if this helps, but I have a Nokia Lumia 920 and it works flawlessly with my FG G6ET Bluetooth system. -
I had the same issue (wanted to use my Ipod for music, then a tablet for Nav through the aux port etc). It seems that Ford didn't think that being able to switch between the two was a good idea, as it seems that both the aux port and Ipod connector are wired up to the same harness and disconnecting the Ipod wires also disables the amplilfied aux port. The only way that I could see to get this functionality was to splice into the Ipod wiring harness (its under the passenger side panel of the centre stack near the glovebox) and wire up a switch to the Ipod power wires, and then mount the switch near the ICC controls.

Could a new gearset cause clearance issues with the standard tailshaft I wonder?
-
I'm not sure - I assume the same gear set was used?
-
Fair enough - only have myself to blame for not shopping around I guess! Thanks for the replies guys, I might go see another workshop and get a second opinion on the tailshaft length issue.

There seems to be a increasingly worrying trend in this thread that I got ripped off :( My searching indicates that the Eaton is still solid, just not as great/strong as the Harrop version? The total cost was $3450.00 which included $313.64 in GST - there was no breakdown of the invoice included, but I assume the centre itself was around $1200 (based on ebay prices), bearings/seals/oil around $500 and the rest in labour. Too much?

I crawled under the car this afternoon and took some pictures. From my uneducated perspective it looks like a stock tailshaft? Apparently its an Eaton TrueTrac centre.
-
I believe they sublet the work to fit the TrueTrac to a diff shop, who recommended a new tailshaft. Apparently its only 15mm too long, so I'm wondering if theres another factor involved. I'm in South East Brisbane. I'll try and get some pics and post them up here for reference. I'm 99% sure that the current tailshaft is stock.

Thanks for the replies guys. The work was done at Elite, so I assumed that the info was pretty trustworthy. Apparently according to Steve/Paul this is a factory fault and a fairly common issue with the standard tailshafts? 3.5k too expensive? I thought it was pretty exxy, but it was drive-in, drive-out so I assumed it wasnt too bad considering parts/labour etc?

Hi All, I've recently had a TrueTrac fitted to my G6ET as the previous FPV GT LSD fitted developed a whine. When I picked the car up, the workshop indicated that the tailshaft was 15mm too long and was causing damage to both the gearbox and the diff due to lack of clearances. They also indicated that this was likely the reason for the original damage to the previous diff centre, and recommended that I source a new tailshaft asap to avoid further damage. Rather than spend another $2k+ for a new tailshaft, on top of the $3.5k that the TrueTrac cost, is it feasible to get the existing tailshaft shortened? Vehicle is making approximately 300kw at the wheels with no immediate plans for any major increases, so a strengthened tailshaft seems rather overkill at the moment (especially as it could use a set of Brembos) Any advice appreciated!

What temps are you getting? Mine (also with front mount ZF cooler) seems to hover around 40-50 degrees for normal driving.

So I did some digging around on the internet for a working PID for Transmission temps for a FG; It seems a solution has been found on another forum and its for an existing custom PID that just requires some minor editing to work properly on the FG. To get a working Transmission Temperature signal do the following; Open Torque and navigate to Settings, then to “Manage Extra PIDs/Sensors” Make sure you add the predefined set of PID’s for Ford (right hand side menu, select “Add predefined set” and select Ford) Find the “Transmission Fluid Temp” custom PID that already exists, select it and select “Edit” Scroll to the very bottom and find the row with “OBD Header to use (leave blank, ‘Auto’ or HEX header)" Delete the “Auto” from this field and replace it with “TCM” without the quotes Save the changes by pressing OKNow with Torque connected to your ECU, add another display using the customised "Transmission Fluid Temp" PID and it should register the correct value. I tested this today on my 2009 G6ET and it worked

My experience with Pirelli tyres is that until you get into the $400+ per tyre mark they are all crap.
