Was fitting a neon light in the lower grill section of the t today an found these brake ducts that had never had the ends cut out so I took it apon my self to cut them out not stoping at that though I might make some scoops to direct the air to the brakes I dont know it its been done before. I took of the big plastic thing but could be done on the car just easyer to work on when it was of . I made up the scoops with some flat galv sheeting a few bend a like of paint and presto . maybe people suffering from brake shudder and brake fade this might be a way to over come it .im now way an expert in brakes but feels better under hard braking was doing a good speed doesnt appear to vibrate or affect the front down force again no expert in any of these fields can post more photos if any one interested

I suppose that's just normal the service manager said to monitor the nosie if it gets louder go back he also said its a very big box and you should get a little bit of noise .any who thanks to all, a bit hard being the only one in tassie with a 6 speed ,I guess that what the fourm is for <{POST_SNAPBACK}> G'day Fraggle, Youre not the only one in Tassies with a 6 speed, and not the only one with the noises you describe. I picked up my Typhoon with the same 6 speed box (different ratios) on 6th December. I now have around 2000km's on the clock. Mine has the 'bearing growl' at below 2000 rpm in any gear....although most notoceable in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. It also has a noise, sounds like a 'tick, tick' when in neutral with the clutch out. It dissapears when the clutch is pressed. Mine also has a problem (although maybe can put up with it if it doesn't get worse) with the cahnge into 2nd being a bit difficult....otherwise the gearbox is not bad!?? Other guys in the Typhoon section of this forum are experiencing the same issues too. If you read through it there are a few guys reporting this noise etc to their dealers. One of them (MYF6 I think) has recently had his 3000km service and they told him they knew about the noise but weren't sure if there was a fix (or if it was a problem?) I agree with an earlier post .... the growl at low revs does sound like the front gearbox bearing. Not sure if it will turn out to be a problem. PLEASE post what you and the dealer decide to do ... or not to do? ...Good Luck! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think its one of those things you might have to put up with someone said put synthetic oil in might be a shot . Might go to the dealer and ask if the will do some testing with some other oils worth a shot what part of tassie are you from would be from the south I think

and you will love ever minute after it get here it worth the wait I waited 9 long very very long weeks rang the dealer every 3 days is it there yet (NO) but its here now and would not look back

Got my 3000k service done yesterday and ive had a rather loud noise coming from the gear box its only there when idleing around under 1500 rpms but its there in all gears. I live in tassie must be the only one with a six speed they not had any 6 speed boxes in tassie apart from mine .They rang ford head office and said it is normal for the gear box to make this noise .So just wanting to know of any other problems noise etc from 6speed thanks my wife also asked if they could fix the diff clunk to :lol: that was me rolling round on the service dept floor .service manager goes what diff clunk with a big smile on his face. said ill be back

door rubbers replaced the big one that goes from the front screen all the way to the rear dog leg. Rear bumper not lined up after tow bar fitment . new throttle body. boot not lining up dealer fixed this now the f*^ken thing wont even shut with out slaming it like a mother f*^ker. sent me to a body works to get the rear bumper fixed an the boot shuting like it should,that was the first week in december they said sorry pretty busy at the moment can you come back after christmas .booked in for the 17 january when they go back to work . starting to develope a noise from the six speed now any thing under two thousand revs sounds like the thrust bearing on the way out . NO BOUNDRIES CARN'T GET A ENOUGH OF THIS dang I had enough of this sh!t both ba xr falcons ive had have been sh!t . not so much sh!t that's everated but how hard is it to buy two brand spanking cars and have issues with both if I buy another I think ill take the thing for a test drive for a god dam week. that's about it im off to fill in my survey and post it back to ford theres not to much room for what I really think on the survey 3000k service next week that will be fun

I also had an xr 8 and sold it after 12 months brought xr6 turbo mk 11 the best car I have ever had the pleasure of driving .also met some great guys that come over on the nsw cruise ther is only 1 thing better than an xr 6 that's a hole bunch of xr 6 s

can someone tell me if a thompson dti500au stb will work ive got one at home input is 200-240v down to 12v has rgb scart plug it video output is 16.9 wide screen also has componate in rca plugs (dvd,ps2,xbox)I suppose.if someone could have a look at it at www.dba.org.au that would be great and there only 250 bucks I should be able to do this very cheap

had the new mk 11 for a week now been working its been raining but here as some pictures window tint tomorrow. and I dont mind the wheels they grow on you. They seem to have a small off set on them. Also looks a little lower in the rear than mk 1 . Done a mesurement by eye next to xr6 na, xr8 both mk11 does look lower . any thoughts only haft a tank of fuel hope this works out only new at this stuff had russell ingall sign the car when he was down for the tassie round

I had an xr8 03 it was auto good power from around 3500-5000 rpm. Just seem to rev and not produce any torque after 5000 rpm had it for 12 months no major trouble to 15000 ks. Nice induction sound under hard driving huge under steer trouble one mk 1. stock brakes run out after 2-3 good uses. sold that brought a mk 11 xr6t 6 speed very fast seems to be lower than mk 1 better cornering and the brakes are lots better so far only 300ks . hope this helps
