  1. Hey Bellato, would love to attend but I'll be heading down to Tassie Thursday for the settlement of the house I bought on the East Coast and won't be back till Sunday. Cheers Hidiho P.S. Thanks for adding me on the XR6 Turbo's ACT Facebook page
  2. Hi Bulletime, The tyres were virtually new as they only did about 100 k's before I was on the track, but you are right, there was a lot of screeching going on.... me thinks it was the Screech of the Falcon letting everyone know it was circling and on the prowl ;o). In all honesty I checked the pressures just prior to going on the track, should I have checked straight after leaving the track? rather then let the tyres cool down? Geoff was impressed with the XR6T but complained about being unable to do heel and toe, his (unofficial) time was 1:34 & 1:25 before we swapped seats and with Geoff in the passengers seat I did 1:58 & 1:26 before the first session ended. Cheers Hidiho
  3. Hi Bellato, The actual Moster Pod website goes to another company so I think they have let their website go, best I could do was this link at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Monster-Pod-MPX01C-Tripod-Stand/dp/B000LYF1DQ but I bought mine off eBay a few months back. I got the guys at Pedders to set the supsension up here and I just drove it as is to Wakefield with no adjustment to the camber, the only thing I did have to do was get it lifted up as I couldn't get in the driveway or garage at home. It's a bit bumpy ride around town but I don't drive it unless I have to as I generally take the Motorcycle to work most of the time. I'm in for a Wakefield day in March if it gets organised. Just bit the bullet and booked in for the 7th of December with Circuit Club. Cheers Hidiho
  4. Hi Bulletime, I'm bittten by the bug for trackdays but I have to be sensible at the same time as I can see this would cost me a fortune. Next upgrade will be the brakes but not sure when at this stage as I'm trying to save a deposit to buy a house plus get one of my junkers registered and on the road. The tyres were Kumo's 245/35R19 XL KU39, I tried to maintain a 40PSI tyre pressure and was going to go the Yokahama Advan but I couldn't justify paying the extra $ but in hindsight maybe I should have. The suspension work I had done was Pedders Extreme XA coilover kit, adjustable heavy duty sway bars, Camber/Castor kit and I got them to check on the diff bush while the cradle was out which was also replaced. Suspension wise the car handled well, just the goose behind the wheel was the let down. Just noticed that Circuit Club has another track day on the 7th of December, might sleep on it a decide in the morning.... And yes, cheap chinese OBDII dongle. Cheers Hidiho P.S. I'm, limited to Wakefield as I can't drive too far due to my back injury.
  5. Sorry McInnes, It should have been Monster Pod, it's a mouldable camera mount with jelly like substance which sticks to anything, fit's on the dash in a matter of seconds and won't budge. Cheers hidiho
  6. Hi McInnes, T'is a GoPro3 mounted on a Monster Pad. Data is from Harry's Lap Timer (iPhone) exported as a CSV file and then the Video and Data syncronised with Dashware. http://www.dashware.net/ I do have a Bluetooth OBDII Dongle, but when I was testing it out the car was "disabled" for several hours and wasn't game to try it again. But using OBDII you would get all the stats from your engine in realtime rather than relying on the Iphone GPS and sensors. Cheers Hidiho
  7. Hi Guys, Sorry about the late update, been a bit busy over the past few weeks. Well, I went to Wakefield on the 7th of October and had a ball, best official lap time I had was 1:20.0150, best unofficial lap time was 1:19.88 (Harry's Laptimer). As it was my first time at Wakefield (and doing a track day) I had Geoff the instructor take me round for 3 laps with him driving and then 3 laps with me driving. Then the next session I was out on my own and below is my first solo attempt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ad1xUye1Kz0 I didn't get round to doing my brakes and I muffed up a little on some of the corners but thankfully I never lost it or spun off the track, all in all a fun day. The only issues I had was having to keep passing a FG XR6T Ute all the time on later sessions. Cheers Hidiho
  8. Hi Guys, Just thought I would throw in an update and happy snap off my XR6T. I had a full suspension upgrade done on Thursday and then had the Rims/Tyres fitted on Friday (courier failed to pick the rims up in QLD and were suppose to be here ready for Thursday). Going back in on Tuesday to get lifted back up a little as I can't get into the garage without scraping the front spoiler. Off to Wakefield next weekend for a Track Day for the first time, I was going to go last month with the other Forum members but had issues crop up and was unable to go. Cheers Hidiho
  9. Sorry Guys, I have had to pull out of the track day on the 7th of September. My Father passed away 2 weeks ago and I thought we might be able to get his govie house cleared out before the track day (and put the car in to have suspension work done) and my sister and I are just running out of time before having to hand the house back. We have 40 years of treasures ( trash) and nicotine to clear and still have at least 2 solid weekends to completed it all. I was really looking forward to having my first experience on a race track but will have to hold out till a later date now. Cheers Hidiho
  10. Hiya ANGEL#3.. Better put me down as a going but not paid, I've registered and just need to wait till my funds show in my credit card so I can pay.. Cheers Hidiho
  11. You can count me in for the ACT going list. Mind you I have a F....ed back and bog standard XR6T so I will definitely be one the slowest...
  12. Hi Guys, Local lurker here, I was hoping I would have some spare time to come along but I have too much going on at the moment, may be able to run out and catch the Northsiders at Epic for a short while and then return back to what I'm doing if no one has objections. Cheers Hidiho
  13. Hello Bellato, I found out about the 21 day cooling period a couple of weeks after I got home when I finally sat down and read my paperwork and fortunatly for me I managed to cancel Swann (St George Motor vehicle insurance) on the 20th day and went with QBE, I had the payment with Swann credited back into my account 2 days later. What I did find surprising is that Swann made no effort at all to try and minimize the premium to match QBE's and the call cell person even remarked herself that there was a major difference between the 2 companies. I'm now with QBE and even had an accident claim with them last year when my Motorcycle was almost about to be written off (original quote was $16,000 for parts and labour) and the assesor worked with me so that my baby wouldn't be written off. I've had good service with QBE and can't fault them on service or the friendly call centre staff. Cheers Hidiho
