What I suggest you do is the following: Go and get a manual Go and get a auto Make sure both cars' engines were built by the same person to avoid any discrepancy. Make sure both cars have been run in identically to avoid any discrepancy. Make sure both cars have exactly the same amount of petrol and the same batch of petrol to avoid discrepancies. Make sure the dragstrip you go to has both lanes identical in all ways (grip, gradient etc) Run both cars down the strip at the same time to avoid any weather discrepancies. Make sure both drivers used exactly the same driving technique to avoid discrepancies. Make sure the manual gets a perfect start, and also make sure the auto gets a perfect start. Make sure both cars are changing gears at their optimum revs. As you can see, it is very hard to do! And in fact, if you do suceed with all the above, please post results!
