The site is now that popular, it will entice more and more people over, even if they dont own a XR at all. The people who are out to bag dont hang around that long, and the one's who have a genuine interest in modifying cars will stay. And I find their input is usually valuable. It is important sometimes to see problems and solutions from another totally independant and unbiased view. The moderators are doing a great job, they will weed out the time wasters, and turf them appropriately. They always do. If the time wasters really are troubling you that much, click the "back" button on your browser, and find another topic to read! Simple! While ever we are attending great events such as "ls1 v's xr6turbo", the site is constantly being promoted, not just to those people that own that particular make, but to the general public as well. The suggestion of having to "introduce" new members is basically saying "we only want the people we know in, everyone else bugger off" I personally think that is very selfish. I didnt know anybody when I very first joined up, and I bet im not the only person in that boat. My 1.9 cents worth.

I'll second that. Hoist your car up, grab some side cutters, and left shoulder em. That will fix the rattle, properly. All sorts of fixes have been tried, and as you can tell, none have been sucessful! With the speeds you do Cro, the amount of air passing under your car keeps the exhaust cold enough anyway! No shielding necessary! :lol: :lol:

Check it out, what is the build date? Has it got the early callipers (brake shudder) or late callipers? Is the water pump O ring leaking? How about the radiator end tanks? Just a few little things to suss out before the major purchase is made! Even though its still under new car warranty, its all still a hassle when it happens......

All the diffs, gearboxes etc are ordered direct through their respective manufacturers eg Dana. Unfortunately spare parts dont get a cut out of it! :lol: :lol: damn it, I was looking forward to my 20's too! :lol:

If youre up for a drive to the ACT, Neal Bates fitted my AP Racing setup, his brother Nicholas works for the importers for Brembo, AP Racing and other tasty stuff.... I highly recommend these blokes, they are the same blokes who prep a lot of the Targa Porsches and Lexus', and are also 100% responsible for TTR.

You have to make some incisons to your rooflining, and it attaches where your interior lamp used to go. Kinda! The de-structions are very good, if youre not shy about having a go, you should have no problems. Its just the cost of the little bugger! 3 large!

It all depends on what you intend on doing with your car eg Towing, drag racing, city driving, highway work etc. Both boxes have their strenghts and weaknesses. Like everyone else has said, do a search and you will find plenty of arguments!

Glenn nails it in one! The original split REX system is ORC (obsolete replaced component) The new REX system is all in one roof mounted system. Pity the interior colour match is really bad...... id be getting the base unit painted the same colour as the headlining before I installed it. Eurovox have done a shocking job at the colour match.

I too have wondered about this... I find this hard to believe. I am not doubting you guys one bit, please dont get me wrong. I have supercharged my XC, using a Vortech J trim blower (the second biggest), supplied by CAPA), and it pulls like there's no tomorrow. Ive had several people in the car, and they say they've been in nothing that pulls as hard as my car does. And one of these guys owns a serious FJ20T. I would be interested to see how much the CAPA cars have at, say, 3000rpm, because at those revs, my XC is a absolute animal. And that was back when the motor was stock! 200,000 k's old too! OK its a 351, so its got some additional cubes, but I still cant work out why the CAPA cars have no torque. Wayne, go supercharge your N/A. Now! You wont regret it. Or wait until my XC is back on the road. That car will then convince you. Trust me! :lol:

I am heading up, but due to work commitments the night before, I wont be finishing there till around 11:30, so a 5am rise is going to be pushing it, considering im driving back that night too....... See you's at the track at around 12:00!
