  1. I drove our first 6 sp today, in a XR8 ute. Impressive! That gearbox was a tad tight on the 1 - 2nd shift, nothing a few kays wont fix (this one had 30klms), but other than that it was a great car to drive. The Boss engine and the T56 make a great combination! Impatiently waiting for our first 6sp T to compare!
  2. As far as I can see, it will bolt straight in, no modifications needed. There is a sensor hole you will have to fill, the air pressure sensor screws into the "in" tank, so you would either have to buy the sensor (and use it! ), or just fill the hole with a bolt so air doesn't leak out.
  3. Another option, although expensive, is the Typhoon intercooler, if you know the right people.......
  4. could we just get someone on here who has a typhoon to buy one for us? at $1200 it's a bargain!! what gauges are available?? Dave. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ^^^anyone going to answer my questions??^^^ Dave. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am still sourcing part numbers for senders etc. At this stage, oil temp and air pressure are the only 2 that I can reliably confirm.
  5. Oh well if youre getting the Typhoon rods checked out right now, I wont waste my time then! Cause im only a crazy parts guy after all!
  6. And l'm sure you've done it plenty of times  <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Indeed I have! Ive demolished around 4 pressure plates, and completely melted the clutch pipe on the dyno one day! All good fun!
  7. Pfffft... In times of need, real men change gears without the clutch in XC's........
  8. I think Cro hosts that bbq doesn't he!!   <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  9. That would be great if you could organise that blockade for me, I might get a bonus day off!
  10. Yeah its all good! Don't think we could afford the insurance on two Turbo's anyhow, I am donating enough to NRMA's end-of-year BBQ as it is! Might just make one meself.....
  11. And who do you know  <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No one you know!
  12. Pffft.... Its not what you know, its who you know!
  13. Enjoy the site! Im sure a few of the HgAg clan scattered througout will be more than willing to help you out! BTW, Where abouts is Maitland? Sydney?
  14. Shift buzzer :o what is that....pardon my ignorance <{POST_SNAPBACK}> When your tachometer hits a certain revolution ie 6000 rpm, a buzzer sounds!
  15. That'd be friggin right! If only I waited a few more weeks.......

Spot on Jeff. Most of the guys on this forum haven't been around long enough to understand that it's torque delivery that is one of the main factors, not maximum power or torque, ceterus parabus. The torque generated by the F6 at much lower revs will make a huge difference. For others who quote Dr Z torque figures they are wasting our time. Brian <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  17. Worried about the diff? Supercharge a RTV, factory locker!
  18. Have you tried AAMI? Not sure, they won't touch me until I am over 30 with the T, BUT We have Terri insured with AAMI, and we are utilising the Flexi Premium or whatever you call it, it has reduced our yearly premium from $700ish to $370 via opting to pay a higher excess if involved in a accident that we caused, or couldn't identify the third party.
  19. Not 100% sure on that one, to be honest I didn't know the Boss engine ran a water oil cooler! You learn something everyday! But I do know, that the Typhoon uses different heater pipes, so the coolant would be sourced for the oil cooler via them.
  20. Would be nice Mick if you could get a hold of both rods & tell us what you reckon & weigh them against what we have now. scotty <{POST_SNAPBACK}> For you Scotty, anything! They will make great paperweights after I finish!
  21. We haven't even received any sort of GT/F6/XR6T with a T56 as yet, im thinking there is a supply problem. I will be comparing both boxes up on hoists when a car arrives fitted with a T56. I think I remember the part number on the T56, it is BA 7003 E for the XR6T, and BA 7003 F for the Boss. I am still awaiting pricing, PANDA still doesn't have a price loaded up yet.
  22. No problem. There is DEFINATLEY two different part numbers for the LPG rods and the Typhoon rods. And the Typhoon rods are as cheap as chips! Going by Catman, they are $12 list each! :o Catman has been renowned for being riddled with mistakes though! Will report back with part numbers tomorrow.
  23. Well when we got the updated catalugue, I checked all the relevant part numbers on PANDA, and at the time, the gauge pods were not on restriction. The availability of the gauges might be sketchy, ie a month or so, but they are available to all, not just FPV owners.
  24. Got another Catman update today, a lot more Typhoon part numbers and prices have been released, here's a few: The Typhoon front mount Intercooler is a cool $1200 or so, only available to those who own a Typhoon, and can provide SIDO, VIN etc. The twin dash pod assy is available, and not on restriction, Bout $300 would get you the holder, surrounds, and whatever gauges you wanted. Wiring and senders extra. The Engine Oil cooler is listed, but they haven't released part numbers or pricing. I am impatiently waiting for that one! The Typhoon DOES use different rods to the LPG ones, well, they have different part numbers anyway. And they are as cheap as chips, about $12 list! Pistons seem to be the same. The mighty T56 still doesn't have pricing available as yet. Valve springs are listed as well, interestingly the Typhoon has a different part number for the cylinder head....... I will have another browse tomorrow, and see what else I can dig up.
