You shouldn't really need to do anything for it. It's only when selling interstate that the car has to be delicensed - put over pits etc - and stamp duty paid in the state its going to.
-
Cars aren't selling at the moment mate. New, Used, nothin....

Not as good as erotic face balkan haha FiftyOne - This should be your new signature. "Is it about sex? A cure for cancer? The engine in my car? Erotic Face Balkan? No? Then f*ck off"

You are most welcome mate, just hope my advice can help you stay away from the mistakes a lot of us have already made I don't know much about them, but I've heard all are reasonably good. Go onto the SA section and look at the tuner section and you'll see people's advice and input about different tuners in Adelaide.

For your reference I wrote 'When not done right they are the biggest P I G S out there'. The forum automatically changes it to cops. ..... Not sure who made that happen... but nice

Hi Mate, To be totally honest this is how a lot of people end up worse off in the long run, with a car not performing properly and a tuner not liking your setup. You need to spend the money and do it right, or don't do it at all. You'll be thankful in the end. I'd personally recommend hanging on until you could afford/ did want to spend another $1,000 on mods, otherwise don't bother. You really need to find a good tuner. I would strongly recommend against buying random parts like this and hoping to just have them all fitted on and getting a tune. Doing this will also give you a generic tune. You need the car tuned by someone whose worked on the car, driven it, and can see how it responds. I can't push you away from the idea of doing this strongly enough. I realise these guys aren't in your state, but have a look at this: http://www.monstatorque.com.au/ford-fpv/fg-xr6t/ There is a stage 1 pack for $2,335. That will see you with more than enough power if your current vehicle is what you are comparing to. These cars are a bit of an art form and when done properly are the greatest power making machines on the planet. When not done right, they can be the biggest cops out there. Please do not skimp out on upgrades, for your own sake.

Agreed, australian cars have terrible sound systems. People rave on about BOSE systems, but they are rubbish. I drive Volvo's mainly, and even the cheap little base model ones with the base sound systems absolutely murder any premium sound systems in any fords/holdens etc. I'd be changing that personally.

Ok mate, cause every single falcon turbo I've been in or driven (BA XR6T/BF XR6T/BFII F6/FG G6E/FG XR6) have also suffered huuuuugely when the aircon is on.
-
I've just been looking through the thread on AFF. Damn that thing is nice as hell. What an animal!
-
Actually that's exciting to hear stripes.... Does that also mean with the Aircon on in the FG2's onwards, it doesn't suck every bit of life and power out of the car? haha

I spotted a pretty sweet lookin falcon last night. Was going down nicholson rd towards the yale rd roundabout at about 6pm. Honestly, I only saw it from the back momentarily. I saw it in the rear vision mirror, FG GT, white with gold stripes all over it. Big flared guards with massive wheels. Looked really tidy. But then it drove by, and I swear it had FGX rear lights/boot etc.... Car had slimiline WA euro plates (I think that's what they are called). Anyone know the car or who it is?

Minor mods on an FG XR6T will blow your mind then mate. I personally don't mind the earlier display. Obviously not as nice as the touch screen, but I personally think it's alright. If you look at an FG series 1 you'll want the 'upgrade', which gives you leather, a better sound system, and a few other things. Pretty sure bluetooth comes with that. Correct me if I'm wrong folks, I never used it in mine. Honestly 2K on mods wont get you too far, it'll probably give you a tune and something else small like an intake (which isn't crucial that early on). If you can budget $3,000-$3,500 - you'll get what most workshops will call a stage 1 - it will probably consist of upgraded injectors, maybe a catalytic converter, new/re-gapped spark plugs, and a tune with a flasher unit. that would see you anywhere from 260-290rwkw depending how hard you pushed it and how the car responded. From there'd you'd go intake/full exhaust/intercooler and see about the max the turbo could offer. Obviously if you care for sound, intakes/exhaust and blocking/removing the BOV are all ways of getting nice sounds from them I personally love a little bit of a flutter. For me personally, I found one of the biggest improvements to my old FG was new shocks and springs. It was lowered on kings springs and put new shock absorbers in, and that made a world of difference. Obviously other suspension upgrades will do you even more good, but I was hugely impressed with the feel and reduced body roll from that alone. If I did it again, I'd definitely go adjustable suspension. Tein always have a good name, XYZ are quite good from what I've heard, and currently everyone on the forum is going crazy for shockworks, so check them out. Can't comment too much on a good tuner for Adelaide, but I'm sure others can chime in.

Hahaha I actually wrote H O L D E N and it changed it to expensive daewoo

As PTR (Peter) has said, you can get some great numbers out of the small turbo's, that feel great on the street but still get some serious boogy. low 300kw's at the wheel is huge, will give you awesome mid range. And not knocking the jap cars at all, but unless you've had any huge powered ones, that'll be more than enough power.... (Until you get like the rest of us and just want more and more ). The lag isn't that bad at all on the bigger turbo's (BA/BF + FG FPV's). Just depends if you want something with huge power, or something that still tromps most things but is really streetable and a great daily. Lot of factors to consider, but the search bar up top is always a helpful tool, otherwise plenty of us are happy to input and help with any advice. Definitely buy one though + 1 for Auto.

Definitely agree with all Steve has said. The good thing is if you are looking at an FG, there's no transmission/engine strength issues or anything major. It's always diff bushes etc. They wont feel quite as light as maybe what you are used to, but when you see the power you can get out of them with minimal modifications, you'll be smiling your head off. Good suspension improves them heaps. But obviously, keep in mind they are a well-sized sedan. Power wise, you'll be silly not to. If the turbo bug has bitten you, you'll drop 10K on an FG and have more power than you can even use on the road. With a friendly nudge from myself and everyone on the forum, DO IT!

You should put yours on E85, wind up the boost and just tear s**t up until it blows

I agree mate, definitely think it's pointless. I definitely understand for certain jobs and careers that scores can be relevant. But more often than not it's experience and seeing first hand what the person is capable of. Problem is, most people aren't willing to give someone a go without seeing flawless CV. I was lucky, I was in the parts department of Barbagallo - the biggest (and for most manufactors the only) European car dealership in Perth. We do Ferrari, Maserati, Lambo, Rolls, Aston, Jag, Land Rover, Lotus, Alfa, Volvo, VW, Skoda, Abarth, Fiat, Chev, GMC, Dodge (rams), Ford (pick ups), Isuzu, and even Sunseeker boats! I was there for 2 months, and one of the managers asked me (at 19 years old) to become a salesman). I'm now just 21, quite possibly in line for a managerial spot shortly. I didn't do TEE (not sure what you all call it in different states), but I just finished school normally doing the 'pleb' sh*t. Lucky for me they were able to see me first hand, whereas if I were putting a resume in I'd have a tough time having a chance at all.

If you can make a girl laugh, are reasonably confident, and can dance at least well enough to not look like a newly born giraffe, your in....
