Hey guys, I'm new to this site, and only know a limited amount about the 4spds and the ZF. I recently got myself a BF XR6 (not turbo'd unfortunately, yet anyways!), with the 4spd in it. I knew it was a little clunky on purchase, but it has low kms, and I was swapping for a busted up old HZ Ute! A few nights ago I had an idiot cut me off, so went around him, but as soon as I hit 4K and tried to change it wouldn't, I continually tried to change till hitting around 6K and instantly just took my foot off the accelerator. Soon after it changed, after flaring down to about 4K before doing so. Next morning wanted to see how it was, as soon as I took off, got stuck in neutral, and took a few seconds before it would get into first. I turned around straight away. Anyways, what I was wanting help with is advice, should I rebuild the 4spd really strong (depending how wrecked it is), or should I install a ZF? Because I made almost $10,000 im happy to spend some money on things here and there. I've heard the 4spds are a good box, they just aren't made strong enough. I know ZF's are fantastic, but have heard they are a pain to put into anything else and are quite expensive. Please correct me if I'm wrong on any of this. Down the track I wouldn't mind installing a turbo kit etc, so I definitely want something that can handle that. I've been told ZF's can handle around 400rwkw. What would be the cheaper option keeping in mind that I wouldn't mind producing a heap of power down the track? Thanks guys!
