Slow Holdens Are Slow. 1/4 Mile.
The Kerb Warrior replied to Seaton's topic in All Videos and Multimedia
If you are after speed, then we all own the right cars. Expensive Daewoo seem to think BIGGER equals faster. Unfortunately this isn't the case. They continuously go bigger engines, and continuously impress these COB's (cashed up bogans) and other chev badge idiots, by saying they've brought out a BIGGER engine, and then restrict it hard. As far as im aware VE GTS's are made to run on E85, then down tuned hard. It does leave room for a bit of play time on the engine later on, but the issue is you have to spend WAY too much to get any decent performance out of them. On top of that the gearbox's are straight from the stone age (reasonably tough, but change like absolute dogs no matter what), and they weigh stupid amounts. Drove a 600rwhp VY Senator before purchasing my F6 (which has 330rwkw ~ 440rwhp (?)) and mine was light years ahead. They have NO top end whatsoever, and the issue is now they are becoming so big and heavy even the bottom end is losing out a lot. In other words, yeah you may get a bit of a longer life out of one of them, but in every other way, you'd be stupid not to pick a ford. Don't get me wrong, I like holdens, but fords are just light years ahead. When a BA turbo with a disgusting 4spd BTR (sorry all you BA owners ), that's had nothing but a tune, wallops a new Clubby, theres something wrong. So many people like holdens because they don't know enough. Thankfully for all of us, we know better Fords for the win. -
Saw "UEVENLIFT" - XR6 in Conquer (pretty sure, drove past it and only saw the ass end, possibly sensation) with the black LED tail lights parked at a place on either benningfield st or parry ave, I can't remember. Had a good chuckle from that number plate. Couldn't possibly have something so retarded like that, good laugh but I'd regret it after the first day lol.

Haha no stress mate.

Pass SVO UTE all the time near the corner of albany highway and manning road (I've been going to pot black a lot lately), not sure what it is, all I can see is the front, chromed grill and XR8 bonnet.

Hey guys, So annoyed I just missed out on the cruise (last weekend I think), was wondering if we all wanted to have a cruise to celebrate the new year? I'm working new years day, and I'm sure many have family commitments, but something around then would be awesome, dying to see everyone elses cars and meet others Let me know what you guys think.

Yeah I was honestly always into holdens, mother loves them, so always been driving new clubby's and SS's when they came out. Then my brother (also on this forum, owns an ENVY BA Turbo) got his car, had nothing but a tune to 12 PSI and I instantly fell in love with the power and feel. Started learning a lot about them, driven lots lately, the other car in the pictures is my BF Turbo Ute. So yeah I learn as much as I can, I know a bit about them, not as much as I'd like to learn yet, but yes I know a lot about what they are capable of and the power they have, and also the trouble they get you in if you don't know what your doing with them! Thanks heaps for the comments guys, hopefully I'll see you guys on a cruise soon

Hey guys, thought I'd put up some pics of my new BFII Typhoon Originally had an XR6 in Deja Vu (hence the member name), cause I got an amazing deal, then got an XR6 turbo ute in rapid, then just was sick of stuffing around and wanted the car that I really wanted. 2006 BFII F6 Typhoon 6spd ZF Auto 69,XXXkms Ego (with Xpack paint/leather/vinyl protection kit from ford, worth 3000, LOOKS SO AMAZING IN PERSON!) Stock 19" "Twisty" rims. Darkest Legal Tint (Metal tint) Nizpro Intercooler Nizpro exhaust (I think 4" into 3.5" into 3" I believe, but not certain) Bigger Fuel Pump Injectors etc Tuned - Unsure of PSI (Guessing 12-14 by the feel), and tuned on 95 as previous owner (who traded it to a dealer) only had access to 95 in the country. Sorry about lack of knowledge on specs, like I said, unsure of everything. Drove well, had it checked and all was good as far as they could see. Believe it was done by Monsta Torque. Will be sending it to Simon at XFT soon to get the boost wound up a little, tuned to 98 and hopefully I'll be pushing high 300's, I'm hoping to hit 370rwkw. Future Mods: DJR Spoiler (possibly) Custom XR8 Bonnet - with slit/vent/scoop (whatever you wanna call it) - (possibly) XFT mods, whatever needs doing. Aftermarket rims + wheels (possibly 265 rear). I see ToxicTurbo everywhere, he's near Willetton all the time. Hopefully people will see me soon, especially once I finally get a custom number plate on my BFII Phoon

Well like I said the tyres at the moment are just Federals so they aren't that flash.Boost feels pretty weak to be honest, I'd say around 12 PSI. Maybe a little more but I doubt it. I am wanting to have it around 15-16, not too sure whats about the highest yet totally 1000000 percent safe tune. I wanna run it hard, but not blow it up in a week. It comes on around 2200rpm, and like I said, hits hard but doesn't seem that bad. My brother had a BA turbo on 12 PSI and it feels like it pulls no harder than that. Its definitely faster obviously ahha, but doesn't really feel like the boost is much heavier. Cheers guys -

What part of the tune influences the traction? Just the PSI and when it comes on or? -

Alright guys, got my car so now I can probably explain better. BFII Typhoon 330rwkw. Currently on what feels like a reasonably mild psi, and tuned on 95 (previous owner lived in the country and 98 wasn't accessible to him) Car drives great, but definitely needs a retune. Feels a little sad at time. And definitely need to give it a service. Nothalane bushes are extremely loud when not moving but fine as soon as I start going... Anyway, only given it one decent boot, slipped a tiny bit on take off, got traction, hit 4000rpm in 1st and started going everywhere, eased off at about 4500 and changed gear, got traction again, hit around 4000rpm in 2nd and lost it again, got it back after changing again. Have good tread, but they are pretty average federal tyres, think they are indonesian or something? I plan to get a retune, to 98, and probably wind up the boost a little. Hoping for about 370rwkw. Help? -

@Steph,h13. Thanks for the advice Unfortunately I don't think this will nearly do as mine is most definately more powerful than a stock FG XR6T, and you are still getting SOME traction loss on take off (I gather from "it now barely breaks traction....). I'm wanting something that will break almost no traction, im not expecting 100 percent traction, but I wanna be gripping as much as possible. -

Can you get Dark Argents in a 19 x 8.5 and 19 x 9.5? Or even the same in 20's? They are certainly my preferred option. -

The availability of sizes in the semi slick wont bother me as I'll find rims to suit. I'm more fussed about the tyres. As for wearing quickly, how fast are we talking? I'm not fussed if I have to replace them every 6 months, I just want traction. Whats the point of having all the masses amounts of ponies galloping at your back tyres if you are just gonna spin on the spot haha. Is there any preventative to them going hard? Or what is the cause of that happening? -

The Kerb Warrior replied to The Kerb Warrior's topic in Wheels and Tyres
I just bought a BFII Typhoon - Nizpro Intercooler and exhaust, tune (to 95, previous owner lived in country where only 95 was available), injectors, etc. Not sure about pump, or what psi, or what else has been done. As far as the dealer knows it was pushing around 400rwhp. So that's currently the situation. I assume after a tune and bigger pump (if it doesn't have one), and a few other bits and bobs I'll get it to high 400's. I'd like to hit 500rwhp. that's my goal. So that's what im gonna end up aiming for, its currently around 400rwhp, and first mods will be a retune (at least). So basically, I'm wanting to hit 500rwhp. And wanting something now that can handle that when the time comes. Been told to go Street semi slicks, 245 front, 275 rear... Any advice on that? -

I'd have an Evo before a WRX... lol. And I know they all handle far better than falcons, but I asked about help with tyres guys haha. Unfortunately not a big tyre nut so that's why advice is needed. Drove a 480rwhp BFII turbo with top of the line maxxis tyres and they held on well. Are they are good? -
Looking at putting a fair bit of power through a BF T, and currently got Dunlop Sports Maxx's on them (bought it with them on). They are good, and from what I know reasonably durable, but haven't got the traction level im after. Don't care if I have to replace them every 6 months, I just want opinions on what tyres will give me the absolute best traction. Cheers guys

They are worth 100 bucks mate.... Care to sell them to me? :D haha.
