  1. ANGEL#3 - Please please please let us know how the brakes go and what you think of them. I'm thinking of the exact same setup and I'd love to hear your advice afterwards. (mine would be having to stop 400rwkw).
  2. Sorry to go onto old news here guys but talking about the Overboost valve... My old BFII F6 had one and that car had the BEST long ass flutter I've ever heard. I thought it was the Overboost valve doing it but Simon Gischus from Nizpro reckons there is no way the Overboost could make that noise? Told me it was probably just whatever BOV I had doing it (bought the car modded) Can I get anyones opinion? Also, what rims are they on your FG Turbo Ripped6?
  3. Hey guys, Have had a fair few cars (BFII Turbo Ute, BFII Phoon and Currently BFII Fairmont Ghia). Just wondering, they steering feels really different between the standard falcons (like my xr6 turbo) and the BFII fairmont ghia and typhoon which feel the same. Apart from the thicker styled steering wheel that the xr6 turbo doesn't have, what else in the steering is different? Are the parts easy enough to change to have the steering and the wheel to the same as the FPV's/BFII fairmont ghia. Cheers
  4. I'm from perth so feel free to correct me if im wrong, but I thought toorak was a very rich area? Spent about 3 days there and every 3rd car was a new high end merc/bmw and every 10th car was a ferrari or lambo or something or the sort...
  5. I'm wanting to put a FG Turbo setup into my BFII Fairmont Ghia, but believe there will be some issues: Planned to put in a Nizpro BIG BIG COOLER but I believe the FG intercooler kit wont fit because the radiator support panel on the BF is different to the FG panels. Apparently I'll have to change the sump and oil pick up and apparently the engine mounts are different. Is it worth putting in the FG motor and messing aroud with everything else or would it be much better for me to just put a BF/BFII motor? Has any one had any experience with this or have any advice they could give me? Cheers
  6. I just think its a shame it took Expensive Daewoo 7 years having the VE out til they brought out the VF.... In my opinion, im not a big fan... But as everyone has said, needs to be seen in person to really comment on it. The rear end looks like a mazda 6, mainly because of the tail lights. Good to see GTS' are all going to be supercharged though, about time they were actually different to the clubbies, I'll be looking forward to checking those out. Only other comment is, I hope for once they stopped pissing around with bigger engines and they've put in a gearbox that's strong/smooth and not straight out of the stone age. But I'm not holding my breath haha
  7. Hey guys, kinda established I want to go ahead with a project. Its going to take some time but I'm wanting to do this right and make the right decisions the first time, so had a few questions. As far as I know the BF turbo motors are generally a fair bit stronger than the BA motors, but im just wondering if someone can explain (or link me a chart or a specs guide) as to what engine internals are stronger in the BF's that the BA's didn't have. Cheers guys
  8. Seen "KARRUPT" parked outside the same place a few mornings now in spearwood.
  9. Ok but for the sake of the engine and ease of work, engine swap is easiest from the sounds of it. Thanks mate
  10. Thanks guys. Same as always, always a bit unhappy on start up, until its warm. Engine/gearbox, all of it is unhappy if I don't warm it up for 5 minutes, real jumpy, hard clunky gear changes, but smooth as anything otherwise. Unfortunately I bought it modded so can't comment as to when it started doing this. I've driven a few other F6's/XR6T's lately, with more power than mine, like around 500rwhp, and mine is apparently 330rwkw (442rwhp?). But nothing has been as fast as mine, its got the best top end I've ever seen in a street car in my life. I left a new ferrari in the dust from 80-160 the other day on the freeway (it went from me looking at his car with amazement to the other way around haha). I know every dyno is different, but I just can't understand, I just reckon they guessed the power, as I've never had it on the dyno, but as I said its a machine compared to everything else I've driven. Anyways, it still has that "leaking" sound, but because of the performance I just can't believe that its actually leaking, or I'd most definitely notice a loss of performance. I did the boost solenoid with my brother on his XR6T the other day (member NVT) and some other bits and bobs so I'll start with that probably but apart from that I'm not gonna guess and buy everything until I figure it out, I'll take it to XFT. In the mean time if anyone has any ideas feel free
  11. Hey guys. Was looking to put a stock BF turbo kit on a N\A BFII Fairmont Ghia, but to be totally honest don't know how much different they are set up to an XR6T. I was wanting to find a second hand stock intercooler/turbo/piping set up and just run it as a stock conversion with maybe a tune, but was thinking if there are any things I need to get around, or how much different the engine/other components are. Would I be better off changing the engine totally to an XR6T engine, or would there be no dramas? Basically im aware of obvious things such as spark plugs probably having different gap sizing etc, but wasn't sure about engine internals/compression etc? If someone could give me any sort of advice that would be fantastic, cheers.
  12. I find it to be a slightly higher quality of oil? And I think we all have our preferences to some degree. Also, I think its similar to, we could have a Ford that was made with as much power as a brand new lambo, but if you had the choice I think a lot of people would pick a lambo (I think to a degree the "badge" or in this case "brand" has some play in peoples opinions). Basically though, I've run all of them, and they were all good, I just personally like using the RP
  13. Run Royal purple in my BF Turbo Ute, and will be in my BFII F6 when I service it soon. I work at supercheap and can get it for as much as your Hi-tech Fast flowing Nulon 10w-40 or penrite equivalents, happy to help people out in perth if you come see me or contact me ****not trying to advertise selling anything or whatever, not intentionally trying to do the wrong thing, moderators please let me know if I can't write that and I'll happy delete this comment**** While Nulon and Penrite are both very high quality oils I'd still pick RP anyday. as for castrol edge, I personally don't believe its quite up to standard. Was my personal opinion for sometime, and that became a stronger opinion when castrol edge was apparently the reason for a mate needing a new engine.
  14. Ok, so I've been searching for a while about good tyres, as I want to stick as much as possible in my 330rwkw (soon to be a bit more) BFII Typhoon, and was recommended the R888's, and after hearing a convincing argument I was inclined to go these. Only asking how good the Mickey Thompsons are in comparison because I can get them through my work at trade price pretty much. Thanks guys.
  15. Saw 'RINGOS' today on albany highway. Faaaaar out that thing looked massive. XR6 Turbo, debadged, with a GIGANTIC intercooler in the front, and an awesome colour changing paint job. Sort of went between a poison ivy (Expensive Daewoo colour) through to like a dark royal blue. Looked absolutely wicked, and had rims and a DJR spoiler. Gave each other the thumbs up and were on our way haha
  16. Also, dunno if this has any relation (think its just feeling a little unhappy at the moment). When I start it up when its cold in the mornings, it struggles starting, and for the first 10 seconds of idling, it sounds like it has a GIGANTIC cam in it, like abolutely massive. Then it chills out and its fine... Not sure what that is either? Starts first time everytime but when its cold it ticks over 1 or 2 times more than it should before turning on.
  17. I'm right around the corner, why's that mate?
  18. Haven't been able to take it in yet unfortunately mate. I'm quite positive its a boost least somewhere though. I'll soon find out. I'll let you guys know once its done
  19. Thanks heaps guys. I'll have to give simon at XFT a call and get it checked out. Cheers guys.
  20. Hey guys, feeling like I need a retune on my 330rwkw BFII F6, (needed one regardless, was tuned on 95). Just wondering, im starting to think now that its not so much the boost that needs to be wound up, as the boost suction is loud and does feel heavy, but doesn't pull much. Its really only just hit me that the revs go up f*cking slowly.... Is this to do with the tuning or? My stock BF XR6 Turbo ute revs up so much harder, and like it said, it never occured to me til I gave it a little bit of a bootful tonight and saw just how slow the revs are going up. Even in first gear. Just looking for some advice as to what it is or what I can do, cheers guys.
  21. Sure, that's not a problem. Wouldn't mind a bit of helping ideas before I do though, im a south boy and I assume a lot of the time these things go north? Nor have a been on a cruise so really know how long they go etc etc haha.
