  1. I live in Rural NSW and have 3 Ford Dealers within a 100 km Radius..........but unfortunately I am yet to find "the friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable sales staff." that you are talking about........Its unfortunate but the Website offers the most/best information and yet it isnt kept up to date! Of the 3 Ford Dealers in the area....you will find 1 x Used XR6 Turbo (ex Demo)........1 new XR8.......1 New XR6 N/A...............and 1 new XR6 Turbo. And they staff have no idea about customer service etc......... One of the Dealers I have been to or contacted on 4 seperate occasions......with the promise of "we will get back to you by phone with answers" and they never did! One of the others has a new car showroom which consists of 1 x Falcon Ute and 1 x XR6.......that's it! No other models....apart from 6-8 used vehicles. And the last of them tried to sell me a Used XR6T at a ridiculusly high price. FORD is gonna lose a lot of rural/regional sales if they cant get thier act together.
  2. So on Thursday of last week....................FOMOCO releases the MkII Falcon.....have they bothered updating the website yet to reflect the new model??? NO! Dont you think they should have had some kind of buildup to this event? Maybe update the site to coincide with the release of the MkII etc?? It seem that they need to keep up with the world....when something new happens....people want to know about it quickly.............hence the popularity of the internet! Come on Ford...........wake up and get it together!!
  3. Plenty of stuff to see and do in NTH NSW on the way through to Brisbane too......... Especially if you like twisty roads........... Coffs Harbour through to the Dorrigo Mountains is a great drive......nice scenery in Dorrigo too.......... Back roads around Coffs...........Coffs to Grafton via Glenreigh and Coramba is a nice loop too. Other places to visit in the area include Yamba / Ballina / Byron Bay.........to the North.........etc.......... And you could probably cover most of these areas in 3-4 days on your way North......and you could base yourself in Coffs......which is only 5-6 hours from Sydney.
  4. Its never too late to Adopt him out then get a new one!
  5. Ambrose crashed early............on his 1st flying lap.....underbody damage. Came back out in the 2nd session........Finished 13th fastest. Murphy was fastest in todays session in the Holden. that's all I got off the news report on Ch10.
  6. I recently read an article that said all the new BMW's will adopt the same shift pattern as the BA Falcon Auto has.........I actually like the Ford Setup.......but that's just my 2 cents........
  7. http://www.northernstar.com.au/ Its the top story
  8. Looks Like it was in the Northern Star - Lismore/Byron Bay/Ballina Local Paper
  9. It just so happens that a 2 good friends of mine were first on the scene to that accident...........he lives about 200 meters from where it happened on the Teven Road and was enjoying a few late night beers on his back veranda while fishing when he heard the smash followed by the Splash..........He is also a Motor Mechanic and said that the thing was "Howling" before the impact. He was also the first one in the water to see if he could help the driver....but unfortunately it was too late. Anyone that knows the area knows that Teven Road is a great drivers/riders road......one of my favourite bike roads....but its not a road that is easy to navigate. Long Blind sweepers that are narrow and bumpy.........wet spots on the road even on the driest days..........gravel on the shoulders..........Sugarcane farms on both sides of the road with lots of slow moving traffic and heavy machinery as well as a couple of Cattle Farms & Studs, Dogs, Horses and the local native animal population make it very difficult to take at speed unless you are some kind of combined magician & psychic.....The speed limit in that area is not well marked but it does have advisory speeds in a few spots near the bridges etc.....so I think that its a 100 zone with a couple of 70/80 posted bends......but even in the best conditions is difficult to manage a constant 100 safely. Id be interested to see the post mortem results........I will bet big bucks that the guy was off his face when this happened as anyone with normal senses would have been able to judge the situation with a lot more common sense and drive accordingly.
  10. Looks Cool.............will definately have to put one of those on the shopping list when my "T" arrives..........just did a quick search on Ebay for XR6 items and there is a guy selling what looks to be the exact same grill.........8 bidders so far have the price up to $122.00 plus $10 Postage. For $10 extra they will paint the badge in the centre too......... Grills available for both the 6 and the 8.........
  11. Just ordered a Mk II BA XR6 Turbo Automatic........ Envi Premium Sound Leather Trim XR Floor Mats / Dashmat Bonnet Guard / Headlight Protectors / Foglamp Protectors Slimline Weathersheilds XR Scuff Plate Inserts Window Tint Sump Guard (I live in a rural area and have a very long dirt / gravel driveway) I am told I will have it at the end of October/early November.........but am not holding my breath!
  12. I have spoken to a few dealers over the last few days......... 1 in Brisbane says appox 3 weeks delivery from date of order....... 1 in Nth NSW says 6-8 weeks.......... Who is telling the truth!?!?! In the mean time.............FoMoCo is keeping the Mk2 "Rapid" colour a closly guarded secret for some strange reason........I have seen media pics of the other new colors as well as seeing a couple of the colors on the Mk1's.....but nothing about the new obnoxious hot yellow! Anyone have a good pic of the Mk2...in Rapid??? Here is what I sent Ford....and the response.... ****************************************************** I am ready to place an order for a MkII XR6 Turbo with my chosen dealer, but he cannot provide me with a sample picture of the MkII in the new "Rapid" colour.....And I really want to see one before I make my decision. Do you have anything available that can be emailed?? Thanks in advance ********************************* Thank you for your e-mail to Ford Motor Company of Australia Limited. We are unable to provide you with colour charts for the new Ford BA Falcon MkII, as this information has not yet been released to the public. We suggest that you keep reviewing the Ford Australia website for any further updates, as when new information is released it will be posted on this site. The Ford Falcon MkII is due to be unveiled at the Sydney Motor Show October 7 - 17. Kind Regards, Marcus Anderson Customer Service Representative
