  1. I guess we'll have to wait for final pricing - but assuming it comes in under $100k (it almost certainly will given some of the Holden/HSV responses regarding pricing across the range).. it's ridiculous value for money. Everything performance wise - is excellent. As for the styling - the rear is questionable... but I thought the VE HSV's looked awful in pictures too. While I don't think they look fantastic now - they certainly look a lot better in person - mostly due to an aggressive stance. So I'll wait until I see one in person before I pass judgement. I'm a big fan of the wheels and spoiler though.
  2. Accidentally posted this in Rear Muffler Removal thread :headbang2: Hey guys, Got my center muffler removed on Friday at Fat Pipes through a mate. Didn't cost much - they did a tidy job - it's on an FG Manual sedan. Love the sound of it at idle. Seems to drone between 1500-2500 RPM depending on the throttle (up hills you can hear it). LOVE the crackles and pops between shifts and on engine braking (sounds flemmy haha). Unsure what I think when I'm giving it the business. Just sounds 'louder' - nothing more. That's not a bad thing - but with the sound differences at idle and shifts, I kind of expected a different sound - but nope, just straight XR6T but louder. Really good value for money - way happier with the exhaust note now. For the record - I have noticed zero performance differences. Doesn't feel slower or faster at all - just, louder. I'll try and get some audio or video up in the next week or so, just in case there's one more person left on the planet who isn't sure on this mod.

  4. Those wheels look great. Also TRA1NR - Wow, those wheels look amazing. I just love the way a bit of camber looks.
  5. So thanks to this thread and some handy calculators on the web - I've managed to work out 95% of the wheel fitments on my own the last few days.... however I just found another set that have got me confused again. Fronts are 18x8 +35 with 235/40r18 Rears are 18x9.5 +20 with 265/35/r18 FG XR6T.... What do you think? The rear offset has me confused... not sure how it will look or if it will even fit and pass roadworthy...
  6. Wow, thanks for that. So I've done some more research - Nissan/Ford stud pattern seems to be the same (depending on model) - but there are definitely Skylines & S14's with 114.3 stud pattern. Is there an easy way to check this when I go look at the wheels? There's a possibility that they could be a 4x114.3 or a 5x120. I assume 4 is easy enough to identify (only 4 wheel nuts?) but how do I tell the difference between a 114.3 and 120 stud pattern? I don't have a way to try the wheel on my car.
  7. http://bsawheels.com.au/products_closeup.asp?part=G2&part_no=557 That's them from what I can tell.
  8. So I have a bit more information regarding the 19's. They're BSA wheels, 245/35/19 Fronts: 265/30/19 Rears. Apparently around +35 offset. Used to sit on a skyline (same 5 stud pattern I assume?) He has been using them with a 25mm + 10mm bolt on spacer to fit an S14. So that does that sound reasonable to fit on a Falcon? I assume a wheel/tyre shop can remove the spacers and simply fit the wheels? Thanks.
  9. Thanks for the help guys. Is that your car in the profile pic Corzza? If so, that's my next car - colour and everything.
  10. This is where I am curious about offsets? When you say 'play around' with the offset - is there a way for me to change the offset on a particular set of wheels. Or is that done prior to payment/purchase. Say for example, I bought used wheels that had xx offset - is there a way for me to 'play around' with that setting, or am I stuck with whatever the manufacturer made?
  11. Ahh okay that makes sense - thanks guys. Hypothetically - if I get these 19's - are there are any profiles or offsets that I should be wary of? Or are most sensible setups going to work just fine? I'll post the details here when I get them anyway.
  12. Thanks a lot - will do. Out of curiousity... are wheels simply made with a certain offset? As in: Do you buy one or the other: XXX 19",9" Offset +30 or XXX 19",9" Offset +20 Or is it a case of, "here are the size of the wheels, stud pattern, width" and then you/fitter selects an appropriate offset? Thanks again.
  13. Suppose I should ask again. So I've found a nice of 19's to buy. They have tires already - but I'm waiting to hear back about the off-set tomorrow. They're 9" Fronts 245's, 10" Rears 265's. I've asked for a general run down on profile and offset as to determine how they'll fit (if at all) - but I was under the impression that depending on what size wheel you go (19-20") you can go wider. Sorry if I come across like a complete newb - I have read quite a bit of this thread already... and I've noticed quite a few people sticking very thick wheels in a 19/20" setup - with the exception tending to be 18's not being able to go as wide without poking or ridiculous off-sets. I just want to double and triple check before I spend my money - as I really don't want to accidentally purchase something that doesn't fit. On a side note - some of the cars in here look ridiculously good with the wheel choices. Neotim's black ute was a standout for me. Amazing.
  14. Poke? As in, stick out from the front guard? That's not good. So what is the a better suggested setup? 8.5 Fronts? stick with 245's. And then 9.5 on the rear? And potentially run 275's? I didn't really want to go into 19-20" range, but if that's more realistic and will look better, I'll start looking around. Thanks for your help!
