  1. Hahaha! No way Panda would I mind somebodies dog cause they need a rest from their holiday. That is crazy. After what you had already done. Your a nicer guy than I am.
  2. Got to admit it seems pretty rediculous that people have had to debate the Ford vs Holden, turbo 6 vs V8, of all places on a turbo ford forum. I'm by no means a die hard ford fan, I do however love my turbo falcon and am sure as hell not going to go over to the Expensive Daewoo forum and tell them they should have a turbo 6 falcon.
  3. 50k for a turbo falcon will get you a nice F6. Or..... Buy a low km used FG mk2 xr6t, spend 15k (brakes and power) and you'll have a nice low km car. Really though, it depends what YOU want or like.
  4. This is a good comparison against other cars.... Although a few years old now. https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=tADXtWYMAmoUeQu0VP6yGKQ
  5. In 2008 Luff ran a 1.09.9 in an FG F6 and a 1.11.5 in a FG XR6T. Anybody who has driven Wakefield and got any sort of times knows how insanely fast that is for these cars stock. Maybe we need to spend more time on track and less money modifying. Haha
  6. Spiro at Autotech tuned my ZF. It's smooth as silk. Can't rate it highly enough.
  7. Yep. I plan on keeping my car for a very long time. And it doesn't get driven daily anymore. I keep it very neat, so hopefully in 20 years I can still own a nice example of one. Just like having a nice clean VL turbo or something these days is desirable. I get a lot of enjoyment from the car, if I was to buy another car, hmmmm... Wouldn't be an FG-X. Probably a corolla for running about. Cause I'll still have the XR in the garage.
  8. Once again, nice car and nice choice of colour. Enjoy. Think you'll run it at the drags stock? What sort of times people getting in these?
  9. My opinion, Running 1.11 around Wakefield in a stock car is absolutely flying. No body here is going to do that. Let alone be consistent enough for it to actually show. Both cars have their pros and cons.
  10. ^this is what I'm using. Just checked my records... Pump was $790. Comes with all necessary wiring, fuse, relay and the correct fuel pressure regulator.
  11. No sorry mate. We didn't get that far into it. But I would 100% recommend him to anyone in Sydney for exhaust fitting and fabrication.
  12. ^wow that's pretty full on, $2700. I had spoken to a few turbo shops about v-band clamps. They all tell me they need to see a clamp. A v-band clamp varies where it clamps to the flanges they say. There is a few different brands etc...
  13. Wow that's fair enough then. Mine was $2100 to my door trade price though. It has also quitened down now and is not loud whatsoever. I had a few struggles with fitment at the beginning but it's all sorted now. My car has only done 1000km in 3 months so I can't comment if the v-bands will come loose. I totally agree with you at that kind of pricing a full custom setup could be done. I know Chris at Best a Mufflers, he's done my cars before. I did ask him what would be the ultimate exhaust for one of these cars, he said a modified Xforce would be the go. This was after he had seen my Niz setup. Overall though, I have no regrets in getting the Nizpro exhaust and think it sounds spot on.
  14. FARK ME!!!!! Is that fitted though with the tweaking Ratter had to do? Yeah mine was no where near that. No valve in mine either. Although it was trade price it was very very comparable to the Xforce 4" stainless price Full 'retail' on Niz 4" is $2200.
  15. What is a full 4" stainless xforce price?
  16. Any proper trimmer can do it. Better to have it redone than replaced with a new one. A new replacement will do the same eventually, although retrimming yours they do it a bit differently and will last longer. You'd be looking around a few hundred. Problem is getting it in and out of the car without creasing it. Might need to pull the windscreen out. Some cars, hatches and wagons etc, you can slip them out of the rear.
  17. Yep VF wagons are very nice. For the money there is nothing else close. An AMG C63 is has no where near the cabin space and is out of most our budgets. I've said it before, it's a shame the Australian cars are on the way out. If you want a performing RWD large car that can accommodate a family on a holiday, and still be a car you can enjoy perfomance wise, what are we going to buy after they are gone???? A 2 door mustang does not cut it. I'm the first to admit if I didn't want a performing car I wouldn't buy a Late model camira or falcon. I'd buy a Mazda 6 wagon. Doesn't matter if you like a Expensive Daewoo or ford, it's going to be a shame to see these cars go.
  18. Or..... Gloss black centre, polished lip and gloss black roof. Haha
  19. Will look good. I really like the FR20s. The only thing is that they are becoming very common now with the 1 peice version. Also, nice choice in colour of car. White would be my choice too. Suits them well.
  20. We had a VF R8 wagon at my work. Inside these things is very impressive. Not so much on an SS-V though. R8 seats are real nice! Very good looking car. My only dislike is the wheels but that's easy fixed. Enjoy your new car. You must be stoked.
  21. My 275 r888 measures 270mm on a 9.5" wheel.
  22. What size and tyre you running Jimmy? The R888 in a 20" only comes in 315/30 or 285/35 for you. Same sizes as an NT01 which would be same spec tyre. Or you could try the Hankook RS3 which comes in a 305/35. Going to be very limited in Motorsport style tyres for a 20". But your prob on a 305/25??? Might be time to get those FR's out of the cupboard if you want to hook up over 400rwkw mate. :-)
  23. Well it's been painted before. There is no question about it. In which case they will not cover it. Very hard to say if it'll get worse without seeing what is going on. Even if it gets worse it's no big deal, the whole roof will need to be painted to fix it anyway.
  24. But did you buy it new? Like I mentioned, if you are not the first owner, it's had the roof painted before. I paint cars for a living. Paint on new cars doesn't just crack up.
  25. Did you buy the car new? I've never seen this on a newish car with factory paint. If you didn't buy it brand new it's had the roof painted before I'd say.
