  1. Isn't the H16 03 V8 supercar pad?
  2. Yeah mate if it gets to the stage you need to be pulled out from the rear, last thing your going to be worried about is whats going to happen from using that point. That section will be strong. You really can't go any closer to the rear in my opinion or once you start getting towed, and the tow strap pulls tight, the angle it's on is going wreck the rear bar. I can't see any other option without putting a hole in the rear bar and fitting one like the front has. And obviously your not doing that.
  3. Nah mate I've been running the same tyres on the road as the track. As for a rear tow hook. Rear passenger chassis rail has a long stud on it, about 30cm from the rear of car. My car has a tow bar that is mounted using this stud with a nut on it. Secure something like this to it. http://www.racerindustries.com.au/afawcs0161690/CATID=225/ID=10700/SID=22324332/Tow-Strap-400mm.html
  4. Ran a few 1.12s at Wakefield today. Best 1.12.5s Needs front tyre, running the Invo still with Hankook RS3 rears. Could probably do with a better brake pad too. Still on the factory Brembo pad. Although the brakes feel pretty good.
  5. E85 would be your cheapest easiest way to make more power. You can have multiple tunes and switch back and forth with the SCT device. Allowing an E85 and 98 tune.
  6. No problems with Fitment mate. 8.5 +30 fronts. If you are looking into getting some. Go through Perfectrun.jp I had them in around a week straight from Japan. Also find out, if you go +25 fronts on a 8.5, that they don't have a more concaved wheel face than the rear 9.5 +38. As that just won't look right. They prob won't though, as my 8.5 +30 is pretty flat.
  7. It was terrible. Was raining that day.
  8. New Hankook RS3 rears today.
  9. Yeah Jet, that's the one he had on it.
  10. That first vid I assume has the heartbeat blower. The car today, blower looked different to that. Had Magnuson written on it but it wasn't a heartbeat blower like that. I assume his numbers are exaggerated. People like to inflate numbers when they think you have no idea.
  11. It's a very nice car and sounds very tuff, I just thought 550rwkw was pretty up there. Even though it's obviously had a fair amount of dollars spent on it.
  12. It's a manual.
  13. Unopened engine. On 98.
  14. I have a new VF R8 ute at work today, Magnuson blower, cam, full exhaust. Guy says it makes 550rwkw. Sounds like a lot, they do that Jet??
  15. I was just driving next to the Heasman steering R8, I can see the attraction. What an awesome looking car.
  16. That's what I'm using. Had no issues with it. He had the chance to sell me the more expensive Streetfighter pump, I told him I do circuit days. He said no problem their Walbro 460 kit will be fine. I'm only making 320rwkw on 98 though. And in a recent talk with him he said I can go E85 with it. Just needs a hose changed which he could do for me. Also, I have no intentions on running it with 5L in the tank at the track.
  17. yep, flanges over V-band. if the exhaust is made correctly in the first place, you should not need the adjustment that comes with v band. It just complicates things due to all the adjustment. Its just as easy to put a few bolts in a flange than clamp up a v band. Actually, maybe easier. Although, I have a mate with an X-force full 4". His flange at the cat sticks out a lot. The v band in my Nizpro at the cat is much better for ground clearance. So maybe that's a plus.
  18. So, if Dons car had no tow bar it would not have had to of been tweaked at all and you would of been happy with the fitment? His has a blow out hole in the weld where they put the Maganflow muffler upfront. Mine does not. Yet my fitment sucks, sounds like varying quality to me. :-)
  19. Or Nizpro. Haha
  20. Yeah Don, my rear muffler had the lip folded over so when it gets hot it doesn't hit the tow bar. I'm not sure if you've ever paid attention, but if you have a look at where the rear muffler sits when it's cold, then when it's hot, real hot, just after doing a few pulls, it sits an extra 1.5" to the rear. The whole exhaust expands that much being stainless. Also mine starting hitting again when it got hot on the weekend. I almost lost it when I heard it!
  21. I run my rear on the soft setting too. I initially put it on the hard setting but the rear felt like it wanted to overtake the front under very hard braking at the track. Was very unsettled. I then changed it to the soft for the next time out and it was 100% better. Although just driving around on the street it felt better with the rear bar on hard, just kept the car flatter. But, it was a very different story at the track pushing it. And I run my front bar on max hard.
  22. Hey mate, Just quickly skimmed through this thread, I was running the factory non brembo size T3s last year at a track day in January, it was a very hot day and there was literally smoke still coming off the brakes when coming into the pits. The rotors turned blue and turned all those thermal heat guide paint markings white, so the rotors exceeded 650'c being the highest temp marking. Even after this day my rotors where not warped, so I would be very surprised if it was warped rotors.
  23. Yes I'm well aware. Thank you mate. Don't believe I mentioned anywhere it was maintenance related. Haha. I service my ZF yearly as I do a few track days a year. I choose to change the exchanger at the same time.
  24. My 'yellow dot ID' exchanger was definitely $150 a few months ago directly from ford. Can't comment on the other ones. Then bought 20L of Nulon trans fluid and a gasket/pan filter kit. $210 for those. Although.... I am using genuine ZF fluid now. Not the Nulon.
  25. That $900 is including a full oil flush don't forget. The factory exchanger on its own is around $150.
