  1. Wow! Ran a 12.8 first run! Going to let it cool down for a while and have another later on. Stoked!
  2. See you guys tonight! I'll be there early. Look forward to meeting some of you guys.
  3. Cool, Im heading out tomorrow night to give mine its first run out there. 100% stock car. Im really looking forward to it!
  4. its easy to access. just remove the splash tray. To remove the whole guard youd need to pull the headlight out and Front bumper off too. Just get a good paintless dent guy out. Ive been in smash repairs for 15 years and I highly recommend you leave It to the pro's. Its not as easy to do as it might look. The steel stretches as its pushed in. and will need to be worked back out the correct way.
  5. Hey Jimmy, I'll be going out next week if your keen to head out again.
  6. Even better you backed up another 12! I wasn't sure if you'd get another run in. Nice work! Now I really got the pressure on! Haha
  7. Was nice to meet you out there last night. Car looks nice and it's a great time for a stock car! I was super stoked to see a stock one run a 12. I'll keep you posted on my efforts next week. Seaton.
  8. Automotive Spraypainter of 15 years. worked in a restoration/race car shop but now in a more general smash repair shop.
  9. Thanks guys! It's always had me wondering. Nice to know what it is.
  10. Hi guys, Had the FG XR6T for a month or so, 2011 model MK1. Im curious to what the clunk is I get after every start up when I drive away, Its probably around the 20kmh mark. Its not long after the doors lock them selves, and its before it changes into 2nd. sounds mechanical. And I can feel it through the accelerator pedal. its obviously normal, because it does it every time without fail. Only does it after startup. and driving away. not just normal stop start at lights etc. Im just curious to what it is. Thanks
  11. So amazing a car can be so fast yet so drivable on a daily basis. Makes me proud to be another FG owner. Well done to all involved.
  12. This really is an amazing time! In my opinion it puts to shame all the V8, Full slick, stripped out, trailered drag cars. You should be very proud to have a street driven car that can run those times at the weight these cars are. May I ask just out of curiosity how often you drive the FG through the week?
  13. I have, a white 2011 Mk2 with 10k on it from memory went for 33k at Power Ford. They dropped the price and it sold that weekend. I made an offer on that car before I picked up my car. here are some others very close to that price too. http://www.powerford...4&task=showlist
  14. It was the week after you did your tailshaft I think. As you said you broke it last time out. We didn't talk for long. I'll be heading out in a few weeks as my mate has a bike he wants to run so I said I'll go too. If I run a low 13 ill be happy. Thanks for all the tips mate.
  15. There are a lot of cheap ex ford cars out there to be had at low price and Kms. They turn them over very quickly so they can sell as demos and it also helps get there sale figures up. I've been a spray painter for 15 years. The one I bought is as good as new. But yeah, it's the main thing I looked for. No major accidents. Anything else will be covered by warranty.
  16. 12.8 stock. That's impressive! I met you out there one not long ago Jimmy. I commented how good your car looked. So clean. Then I sold my MPS and bought one. Haha
  17. nice work, im going to take my stock fg xr6t out soon. if I could run that time id be super happy!
  18. I'm not sure if it's normal mate but my fg with 12k on it is sometimes a tad rough at idle also.
  19. Yeah, I just picked up an fg xr6t with ZF a few weeks ago too. 2011 with 12,000kms. Hasn't even been registered a full year. Ex ford executives car. For 30k. Huge savings on new. Extremely happy with the car. Very solid, smooth, quite and fast. Much better than I actually thought to be honest.
  20. Hi mate. I have one I can lend you. I only picked the fg xr6t up last week. First thing I did was pull the tongue off as I'll use it rarely. I have no ball though. I'm in Sydney northern beaches. Let me know if it's of any help to you.

well the MPS had alot done to it, tuned, dump pipe, intake, FMIC. totally different style of car really. both cars have their pros and cons. the FG feels massive in comparison. and doesnt feel as quick. although it is. it just does it so easily, without looking at the speedo its hard to tell just how fast your going.

Hi guys, Picked up my first XR6T today. Its a 2011 FG in silver with 12,000km. So far it feels great! I came from a 2010 Mazda MPS, Needed something a bit bigger for the family and an auto the misses can drive on the odd occasion. see you guys about!

Hi guys another newb here. I currently drive a 2010 Mazda MPS with a bunch of bolt ons and Tunehouse tuned making 215kwatw and 440NM. Its a fun car but im after something that can do it easier for around the same price as I can sell for. So, ive been looking at the FG XR6T. I like to go to the drags, but the MPS struggles greatly with getting off the line. So it runs mid 13's @ 108mph and is already breaking stuff. I drove an FG yesterday with the 6sp auto and it was great for a stock car but id be hoping to get it over the 300kwatw mark and run 12s of some sort all day every day. if anybody here in Sydney would be nice enough to take me for a spin around the block in their BF or FG that makes that kind of power I would be very appreciative, I would love to see how it feels as a street car before I make the leap. Thanks guys, Seaton
