  1. Mate, that car looks super good on the track! Great wheel setup you have there!
  2. Awesome work mate! Well done.
  3. might come out for a look then....
  4. All done at the same time...
  5. Spoke to both King and Wholesale suspension, Im told this is not normal, Need to speak to Pat from Wholesale tomorrow. Reading through some posts, it seems these springs vary ALOT in HTG measurements, My 355mm front seems higher than everybody elses SSL fronts. And cant find anybody with 330mm rear HTG SSSL'S.
  6. Yeah, rear sits good. But it's no good for a family car. I've got a couple of options I'm weighing up. Will let you guys know what I do.
  7. My car has SSSL rears about 6 months old, I went away last week which was about a 3 hour freeway drive to get there. I had a bit of weight In the car, nothing too serious, a couple of bikes on a bike rack, a boot full of clothes etc, the miss's and my 2 yo boy. It seems my rear hub to guard measurement has gone from 345mm to 330ish mm. It makes my SSL fronts look stupid now. Anybody else encounter this problem? Or have such s low HTB measurement on an 18" wheel. Not sure what to do at the moment...
  8. Are you heading out there tomorrow 10SECN? I think I'm going to go watch for a bit.
  9. *EDIT- 1st time out was 12.7@ 109 not 113mph
  10. 1st time out I also ran a 12.7 @ 113, Next time it ran a 12.65 @ 113, still 100% stock, just lowered. And that was on a 2.0 60ft. Run 1/3 tank of fuel, spare and tools out, and some Nulon octane booster. Pretty amazing for stock cars, non XR owners will not believe you can run that. Are you running tomorrow Veva?
  11. Something to do with ABS check. It's normal.
  12. That's 60ft is a bit slow, if they could do a 2.2 60, the XR would be right where I'd expect time wise.
  13. I'm a spray painter so naturally I did mine myself at work. Pay to get them done properly, even I wouldn't do them at home and expect to be happy with the result.
  14. nice one! just how much power does it take to turn the tyres like that?
  15. You wouldn't believe it, after 6 months of trying to hunt this noise down it was the spring! King uses a progressive coil, so at ride height, the top few coils are very close together, just off touching, so over bumpy roads, they hit each other. I fixed the problem with some coil wrap which I was supplied from King springs. It stopped the noise instantly!
  16. I would not have thought it would be written off. I work in a smash repairs, but obviously hard to tell from just the picture. It is no big deal to put a qtr, beaver panel boot floor in etc, But if the insurance company is willing to write it off, I would take that any day. Considering most cars have an over insured value, (id imagine over 50k for yours as a guess depending on year) your probably going to get good money back for it. If they are considering writing it off, I would push for that any day! Edit- thought it was an FG, still probably insured for more than a sale price, and being that its not really as replaceable, that sucks, especially if you have had it since new and always looked after it.
  17. Had another go last night, pulled the front sway bar end links off and went for a quick drive. Still there. So it's not the end links or sway bar bushes. I ordered some Super Pro top control arm bushes today. Fingers crossed!
  18. Thank you mate!
  19. Hey Jet, by the looks if things, you can get the control arms out without taking the brackets off the body? I don't want to take the brackets off if I don't have too as its all shimmed up.
  20. Hi guys, Ive been hunting my front end noise for months! It has me screwed. It started as soon as I lowered my car, SSl fronts SSSL rears. First time around I was on the stock shocks for a couple of months, so I just put the dull knock down to the shocks, Then I changed them out for some Koni red adjustables, Still there! Its a light dull knock in the front, both sides, and happens over bumps in the road at under 60kmh. Ive had it looked at by 2 people, one of those shops Heasman Steering. they tell me there is nothing wrong! Its driving me crazy. Ive quadruple checked everything is tight, all my bushes are fine, car has 20k on it, end links tight etc. Tonight I noticed there is about 20mm on the front shocks before it will bottom out on the front bump stops, so could it be the bump stops hitting? Anybody not run the front stops or is that even safe to do? Anybody that can offer some insight here would be awesome! Seaton
  21. Congratulations mate! My boy is 2 and a bit, it is the best thing ever!
  22. Even if you cant get a spring compressor, pull the front spring/shock out, then take it into a Pedders and get them to swap the front springs over on the shocks. cost me $40 to do that. So much easier, I have access to a spring compressor and still did it that way.

    "tank Slapper"

Your not the first to be bitten by one of these cars, But mate, there is better places you can do this other than where there are parked cars and pedestrians.
  24. Maybe calls for a better shock, as the koni is only adjusting the rebound and not the bump, but, really doesn't look like those arms are doing what the centre is anyway. But I'm no specialist. Out of curiosity, how did you go last time the wound the rears up? Was it better? They only have 5 half turns from soft to hardest rebound settings. Pat told me to put mine at 1 full turn, so if you went further again than that, you probably have little left to go any harder. Although the rear is very easy to check.
  25. Says in the first post, he had Koni, But, I have Koni and still get tramp too. Did the car only just start doing this lately? If so, I'd say something is shot, could always try winding the rear shocks up harder. I was going to do that in mine. Never got around to it. But after just watching your 2nd vid, those rear arms don't seem to be doing what the diff bush is anyway. Have you checked the bush?
