I'm not 100% on this, but Ratter will know, the Nizpro exhaust now has a Magnaflow resinator in it as well as the 2 mufflers. I'm not sure the resinator was always on them as well. I should be able to tell you how it is in a few weeks
Doesn't get any better than having one of the top tuners giving you free advice on how to go about these things. I'm sure many members appreciate the time you put in here Mick.
Yeah I think I would be going with whoever is doing the tuning. If something isn't right with it from the start, they will sort it for you. It's too much money to not have that piece of mind. Otherwise you could end up with the guy tuning saying the box is no good, and vice versa.
I just purchased the KPM Walbro 460 kit as I'm getting some parts together. They assure me for my power level in the 300s it won't surge and will be fine on the circuit for not surging also. As I plan to be doing a few circuit days this was a priority for me. I am all for a kit that comes with everything I need and is easy to install.
^ yeah seems odd mine broke and yours lasted, I very well could of got a dud. If you don't care about comfort K-Mac does a full set. http://www.k-mac.com/pages/newprods/ford/ford.htm Same as the cat600 sides with that style also used for the centre.
For racing, run the cat600s. I broke a superpro comfort in 2000km of fitting them, split and the sleeve came out. With 2 circuit days though. Stock power, auto car.
Yep! If you can afford to go straight to the brembos if you can. It's night and day. But obviously that usually means a wheel change to fit them. Best thing I've done yet, brakes and light wheels. Seems a few of us are getting hooked on this. It's not a cheap hobby but it sure is fun!
They are a AME Tracer TM-02 copy. You can get the real ones for under $2k, light, super strong, heaps of top time attack cars run them. I'm a fan of 18's.
There is definate possibility the colour will be different. How good is the paint? Kept inside, outside? When we pull decals off cars at work when we have to paint something, you can see a difference at times, not all the time, you won't know until you do it sorry.
Mate, as a painter I can tell you you need look at the colour in natural light. Under your fluros is irrelevant. There is nothing that can be done to stop it looking a little different under fluro lights. Manufacturers have different pigments in their paint than the paint refinishers use. So they react differently under different lighting. So, the colour needs to look good in natural lighting. If it doesn't. Needs to be fixed. The other option is having the colour matched under fluro lighting. So it' looks good when your filling up at the service station or in your garage. But then it won't look correct outside. Being a bonnet you should be able to not blend the guards. As they sit at a different angle to the bonnet. Making it a lot harder to spot if it's a touch out, whereas it would almost be impossible to do a full door without blending the adjacent panels as you will see it down the side very easy.
No, a 245 invo will not hold first gear. I have had them and am at stock power levels. Now running a 275 NT05 and I wouldn't even say that holds 1st gear 100%. Maybe they did for a very slight period after they wore in. Keep in mind, 1st gear in a ZF is short. You really need to not flatten it straight away. Give it more throttle as the revs rise.
I have run stock brakes with some T3 rotors, Remsa pads with fresh fluid and it is doable if on a budget. Pads went after a couple of laps and there was literally smoke pouring out of the wheels at the end of Wakefield straight and coming into the pits. I have upgraded to some Brembos though and the Liquid Intelligence fluid Neldonian mentioned. I will find out how it goes there next week :-)
