Alright. If I get it tuned for 18psi and it gets some boost creep and I then port wastegate would I necessarily need a retune?
-
Bought a bf2 xr6t which has a 4" dump with 3.5" exhaust. Also process west stage 2 cooler kit, injectors and pump. My plans are to mod it further with better intercooler piping and plenum etc. At the moment it's tuned on 10 psi. Hold's that boost perfectly through rev range. do you think the car has a ported wastegate since it's able to hold such a low amount of boost with the 4" dump?

Bf Turbo Ute Diff Was Lsd Now Not So Lsd
Turkey91 replied to highlander1's topic in Driveline Workshop
You can still drive it around with sh*tty lsd. Just it probably wouldn't do it very good holding 1km long single peggers down the road. Lsd wouldn't just stop working overnight. Usually lots of donuts will do it. Just see how it goes when you get the car back. -
I run 330rwkw I have a npc coppermix single plate. Its only my weekend car so it gets the sh*t kicked out of it. Done about 20, 000km so far. Lots of brake boosting, clutch dumps, lots of burnouts and clutch kicks. Hasn't seen any actual drag strip use but plenty of hard launches on private tracks. Still chirps 4th Sent from my GT-I9305T using Tapatalk

My bf2 does exact same. Lots of clunking from the diff. Hectic whine at 80 on overrun. Im just waiting for the day it lets go

Well what about the bf2 xr6t. It got the typhoon internals and the typhoon diff ratios. Is it possible it also got the clutch setup?

I had process west stage 2 kit. 60 pound injectors And no cat. Oh and fuel pump. Had 309 with those mods. Then turbo blew up. Got a bigger one with actuator then had dramas ever since with trying to keep from over boosting. No one in darwin will do the wastegate mod. Gotta send turbo away. Which is inconvenient
-
My last car managed a steady 15psi with standard turbo and actuator. Unless my boost gauge was wrong.

Ashleigh thosd gearboxes in the early turbo falcons are fairly unreliable. Id suggest getting the car to a transmission shop and expect to pay for a rebuild

I'd second the failing cat. Can cause a held back kinda feel. Gut it Sent from my GT-I9305T using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Swap the relay with a known working one would be what id try first Sent from my GT-I9305T using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Is there any way to tell which its tuned in? My tuner closed down recently. I want to do this mod but I wont if I need a whole new tune Sent from my GT-I9305T using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Inlet manifold gasket leak perhaps. My car used to have a really lumpy idle on cold starts. Progressively got worse. Replaced the gasket (which had broken completely) and all good. Same thing on a mates non turbo ba to. Twice also while this problem was happening it would idle lumpy and really really rich to the point black smoke was coming out the exhaust. Only happened twice. And stopped after idle smoothed out. Never happened again since though. Gasket is cheap. Changing it is a complete sh*t job though Sent from my GT-I9305T using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Sorry for double post. Just heads up. My diff came from a bf2 turbo manual. The diff hat didnt line up with my diff bush. But the hats were interchangeable. Also the pinion to tailshaft flange was different also. Also easily changeable with the standard diff. Sent from my GT-I9305T using Tapatalk 4 Beta

I have a zf auto and recently got a diff with 3, 73 ratio put in. Freaking huge difference. Car is so damn responsive. First is a bit short though. Wont make full boost. But then gives a massive kick into second. I love it. But id go with a 3.46 instead if I could. 5th tops out at 200. Ive always been too scared to fully load top gear. I cant afford it if the gearbox doesn't hold up. I run 15-17psi and 328rwkw but then 317 after the ratio change. My tuner said its to be expected though. I dont know why. It was an abnormally cold night. Should I just leave it? Worry about it if it happens again? I cant just take it back to my tuner. He retired two weeks ago. The other place here that does tuning will charge 1200 for the initial tune again cos it'll be my first time there. Sent from my GT-I9305T using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Hey guys I've had my engine light come on the other night and my flash tuner revealed it was error codes P0236- Turbo/Supercharger Boost A ck t range/performance P0238- Turbo/Supercharger Boost A (tc/sbc-a) ck T high Car was running its 15 psi tune at the time, it's never happened before then and I haven't had it happen since. its a bf2 Auto process west stage 2 intercooler no cat xforce cat back fuel pump 60 pound injectors gt35/82 with 8 psi actuator basically if anyone could shed some light on what to expect the problem to be or how to find out that would be great here's a pic of the car

High speeds. I was sort of thinking I'll prob be using 6th to get to 260. Not like I'll be doing it often. But there are track days etc. Also what about the tailshaft? I could imagine it'll be spinning a fair bit quicker then ford Intended.

Hey guys. My circumstances have landed me having a 3.73 diff ratio behind the zf auto. Things will be interesting. I have about 320rwkw and im wondering about putting full load in 6th gear. Also. General consensus on zf auto with 3.7's? Traction I can say goodbye to definitely.

Hey guys my car has suddenly started to overboost, Last weekend was power cruise and the whole weekend the car didnt miss a beat It held its target 15 psi the whole time every time. After power cruise I babied the car for a couple days. Then next time I went to hit full boost It hit 20+psi. First thing I did was reload the tune. It didnt change anything and car wants to keep making boost. The car has had this specific 15psi tune for around a month now. It was always dead flat on 15psi. No dramas with it. Today I replaced both hoses going to/from the boost solenoid and cleaned the solenoid with wd40. The Hoses looked a bit sad and the new ones seem to seal a lot better. Took the car for a drive and now it boosts to 17-18ish psi and holds there. Which I guess is an improvement. I then tried my 17psi tune. This tune when I first tried it a month ago never ended making more then 14psi. I told my tuner about it who Offered to look at it but I Said I really dont mind about it abd im more then happy with the 15psi for the time being, and its difficult to be without the car. Anyway. Now this tune holds 17psi fine, which it didnt last time I tried it. Which I think it weird. What do you guys think is wrong? Could it be tune related? Even though it was fine for so long? Or what else Could I try replacing? The turbo has ported rear housing and 7 pound actuator. Also, mine is an auto. Is it normal to have some boost spike between gear changes?

yeah with 0 pressure on the gauge the oil still flows out the oil line. I wouldnt take what my gauges say as fact though, even the oil temp gauge will get up to 180-190 farenheit then as soon as it starts to rain within 10 mins of driving on highway it will be below 140 degrees. Which I doubt is accurate I noticed how small that hole is, there could even be a blockage in that. When I pull the drain plug pipe off, if the oil gets through to the sump then I obviously there is oil going through the turbo. someone has suggested to me that the turbo could have been bound to fail from the start as it sat with no oil in it in the back of someones shed, I also didnt pre oil the turbo before I installed it, didnt realize this was a thing.
-
yeah 100% sure, I personally destroyed the little filter in memory of the first turbo. its definitely not in there.
-
how can I find out if that's the issue? could it not have been a sh*tty turbo?
-
At running temp the gauge reads 0 psi idle. But theres still the same amount of oil flow. So turbo gets oil...
-
It gets oil flow. But its cold idle. Im gonna warm it up. Then check again for oil flow. The gauge atm is fluctuating from 20-15 psi. Slowly going lower
