  1. Yeah that's real bad. If its not the O2 sensor and the fuel pressure is correct, as in not to high due to a faulty fuel regulator, ask him to add 10psi to his tires and see if that improves his fuel economy. Could be a dud fuel injector/s. What kind of engine oil is he running? Does he normally tow with the vehicle? Like a trailer or boat for example? Good luck!
  2. Possibly the boost reference nipple is blocked. Is there any reminisce of oil in the compressor housing? If so the nipple it self could be clogged up? If you disconnect the hose can you blow through it? Weird!
  3. If his stuck bumper to bunper and gets up it (lead foot) id say about right. If its been servied and everythings fine, consider checking the fuel pressure. Reg might be stuffed!
  4. officially ordered mine today along with the 02 wide band sensor.
  5. Pricing and options now up on there website.
  6. I think I might know who you’re referring too. His probably your best option for SA to be honest! His commitment to this forum and the turbo Falcon is not in question that's for sure.
  7. The best tunners in Australia are in WA, VIC & NSW. SA has a very poor reputation. I recently sold a brand new FG F6 short block to a nice fella that had his F6 tunned with Bruce and his motor let go. 385rwkw on stock intercooler is asking for trouble. 98 tune!
  8. dont take it to Bruce!
  9. For me it will do everything I need. Stage my fuel pumps, run my shift light, give me interstate support with tuning abilities so I dont need to relie on Adelaide “tunners/work shops. Provide piece of mind with all the engine protection features, wide band visibility boost ingear and heaps more. It doesn’t matter that it cant be used to tune the ZF, this is technically very difficult to achieve. Its not for everyone but for what I’m trying to do its, on paper at least perfect. Plus Dion Amato swears by it and has used it to tune his 6sec race car. live tuning, the list goes on and on. Looking forward to it!
  10. Do we know what the relief valve is set to in these new pumps? In saying that its largely irrelevant at those flow specs, most base pressures are not set higher then 65psi, and most blokes don't run more than 35 pounds of boost.
  11. Check the termination at the relay and fuse setup to the power box/fuse box. This is done under the bonnet. KPM Prrocess West and others have had these problems, its commmon knowledge in the industry. 70 psi (aprox 55base + 15 psi boost) on paper is good for around 775hp on E85 on a single 460. that's providing all aspects of the rest of the setup is ideal/correct. If you experience flow drop off then you can expect a dramatic reduction in deliverable supply and run into fuel starvation issues. many factors need to be considered!
  12. This topic has been done to death. I think most would agree that intank solution are very problematic. Surge tanks work well on our cars.
  13. If you look at the fuel tank design in a sedan the pod would still be quite submerged with a 1/3 of a tank remaining. The fuel would need to travel an 80 odd degree wall to get to the furthest rear most part of the tank. At speed the fuel would stabilise. In tank solutions do work if flow is correct. Also return fuel is always in the high range, lets say 80odd % of fuel delivered is returned to the tank. The likelyhood of the pod running dry with a 1/3 of a tank due to slosh is highly unlikely and technically difficult considering the design of the fuel tank setup in the Falcons. When I ran a 460in tank I would get “surge” at around 10l or less, but later found my fuse holder was melting away causing resistance in the wiring system. poor current = less fuel pump flow! I too agree that a surge tank is a good solution for our cars.
  14. Also consider this. The hotter the fuel pump runs the less it will flow. If you are having a current issue or experiencing resistance in the wiring kit the pump will not flow correctly. This can cause a fuel system setup that can handle lets say 700hp to only support say 600. This is why you need heaps of head room in your fuel system. If the problem went away with a full tank of fuel it could also mean that the additional fuel is having a cooling effect. Alot to fuel systems mate and Im by no means an expert. I still sugest having the wiring kit checked. How much boost are you running? Is the fuel reg stock? Aaronms correct, 1000m sprints is really asking alot from that type of fuel system setup!
  15. The 460s are known for melting fuse holders and this resistance can cause surge like symptoms. They can run up to 20odd amps and the wiring kits needs to be of the highest quality. The in tank pod also recives the return fuel flow so it’s impossible to drain the pod unless your out of fuel. Surge on a 3rd of a tank if the flow is correct on the pump should’nt in theory occur. In saying that fuel systems are complicated to spec out correctly and problems can and do occur. One 460 at around 400rwkw on e85 is about as far as you would want to push it IMO. On paper it should do more but at that level it should have head room left over for a good safety margin. Check your wiring system/fuse setup Lennox.
  16. very common - your on fire aaronm!!
  17. get a set of repco shafts and a new mechanic at the same time!
  18. I just ordered one of these. I'll let the forum know how I go with it. Will still be a few months away before the new motors running.
  19. crank sprocket will just pull off, no bolts to undo. You may need to use a little leverage if its firm. Job can be done with water pump in place but getting a real good clean around that surface area is tricky due to the limited space. Tip - don't forget to run some sealant on the sump sealing surface as well. The work shop manual doesn't cover that part of the install process because its part of the sump remove replace procedure in the manual rather then the front cover procedure. If you don't seal the sump surface it will leak oil.
  20. It surprises me that today's modernity is still not fully understood by some. All you need to know! It comes off!
  21. Nems did an 8 second pass on 275s! I cracked into the 10s on a 245 - Nitto NT555r
  22. get the dimensions of the port hole and threat size from the standard upper plenum and take it to a head reconditioning shop/machine shop and problem solved. If possible keep it in the same standard location so you dont need to extend the wiring loom.
  23. Which plenum mate?
