I dont get that sound...

The problem with the ipod playing with no sound is with the ipod/iphone - it keeps switching which source it is playing thru ; so while you think your playing thru usb, it plays thru bluetooth, and you have to switch it back to make it wrk. I find that the iphone does this when you somehow trigger the blue tooth in it again, either by switching thru media or not pausing music.... I think.
