Hi there, been reading ages but don't post much, figured you guys might be able to point me in the right direction. So I picked up an XR6t last year, an FG MKII. Only a month or so after picking it up one of the keyless entry remotes stopped working. Car still unlocked fine via the physical key and started no problems. Being lazy I switched over to the spare key (as keyless entry on my spare key isn't mission critical) and the other remote worked fine... for about a month. As of today it no longer works either. I figure that the keys themselves would/should be covered by some kind of warranty and I'll be contacting Ford to get the matter fixed but I'm curious as to what could have happened. Do the Ford dealerships just hand out any old key remote they have laying around that may or may not be extremely low on battery? Or is there some defect with the FG keys that is common? Or am I just ridiculously unlucky?
