    One More Sleep!

Hi mjh Sorry to hear about your troubles. But I guess the up side is the the sat nav is a bargain at $1500. What whould annoy me the most is the 5 hours of arguing to get to that point. This is the BIG difference between dealing with Ford rather then BMW (my previous car). When I ordered my BMW the car I had ordered would have needed to be built overseas and shipped to Australia taking 4 - 6 months. They said that the car I wanted was availiable in Sydney except it had a sun roof (I hadnt ordered a sun roof). Then they came straight out and said that they woudl be willing to give me the sunroof at their cost price to get me into the car sooner, so I paid < $1000 for a $2500 sunroof - without any fighting at all. (I would also like to add that this was well after negotiations had finished and I had got the car for $8000 less then list price)
  12. Your probably right

    Towbars

I ordered a non genuine Hayman Reese 50x50 towbar. The socket has been mounted on the bottom surface of the bumper bar - cant even see it from a distace. The hitch can easily be removed - havnt tried yet so dont know how it looks!
  14. Jaycar has a Wellington store (and others in NZ as well) Here are details for wellington store (found at www.jaycar.com.au) WELLINGTON 23 Kent Terrace Ph. 04 801 9005 Also I believe you can order online from Jaycar.
  15. Do you still have the problem? It not how was it fixed?
  16. Why is that? Are they on a different production line with different programming?
  17. Does the filter equate to a genuine performace gain or does the ECU prevent any actual gain??
  18. No - I have desinged and built a number of devices (about 85mm x 65mm) that you wire into the window controller to make them automatic. Installing them is as simple as cutting and joining 2 wires! I can post pictures if you are interested.
  19. My engine bay is Blood Orange - the same as the rest of the car. I didnt make any spoecial request it just came that way. (April Build)
  20. The 'new' phone presenter is almost exactly the same as the 'old' one, its just sturdier. Apparently the 'old' ones were breaking a lot in the field so Ford went back to the supplier to make new ones that are stronger. They look almost identical and goes in the same spot. (If you want I can still post a photo though)
  21. Well I finally got my XR6T on Tuesday afternoon. Have delayed posting until I could take some photos to post - but ths weather is still bad so photos will have to wait a couple of days. The car: Blood Orange XR6 Turbo SSS Automatic Leather interiour Premium Audio Auxilliary Audio 5x 18" Alloys Side Airbags XR Scuffs XR Floor mats (Red logo) Pollen filter Non genuine Hayman Reece Tow kit Boot Floor Liner Boot Lid Liner (from Fairmont) Cargo swing net Phone presenter (new sturdier one) Defender pack - Metallic Tint all round, Paint pretection Glaze, carpet and leather protection, Sound deadening, Rust proofing Modifications already made: Installed wedge lamps for floor well lighting All electric window switches fitted with Blue SMD LEDs - looks great Modification to make this weekend Install Car phone kit Install auto up and auto down on all windows (I hate only having the auto down on drivers window) Upgrade front and rear speakers to better quality (perhaps an amp for them) The problems so far: Cut in plastic of steering wheel Rattle when stationery at idle when cold - sounds like loose heat shield Rubber window seal looks incorrectly fitted on right hand side of rear window Imperfections in rear window tinting - small particles (look like tiny pieces of metal) trapped under film causing small bubble Fuse panel cover does not seem to attach properly and fell off when collecting car
  22. One other thing, unless you already have suitable tweesers (very fine point, anti static, non magnetic) then you should get Jaycar Part no TS1754 (SMD Tweesers). These tweesers are shown in the SMD photos I posted yesterday.
  23. The SMD resistors I have are from Jaycar Part No. KK2060. This is a nice plastic box with 50 of each of 72 values from 0R0 to 10M. The SMD LEDs are also from Jaycar, they are Part no ZD2020. They come in stips of 6 LEDs - so you will need 3 packs and will have 4 left over when finished.
  24. Ford would be able to fit the Fairmont switches to your car (at a price). I dont know whether the fairmont switches are illuminated blue though...
  25. Drivers switch is done now - piece of cake once I was set straight about the polarity
