  1. The numbers you are referring to would be the number of mCds (mili candellas) that the LEDs produce. Most LEDs have a current drain of aboiut 30mA - irrespective of the number of mCds they produce. So it will not be the number mCds the LEDs produce that is causing your problem - it wont be a power supply issue (at least not an insufficient power problem). Anyway I guess thqat doesnt help you at all. When you say its not always the same ones that go out which ones is is specifically? Has it happened to all the LEDs or only a few of them? The possibilities I have thought of are that you may have a 'dry joint' which is essentially a poor solder connection and can result in interimitant connection (things like temperature and vibrations can have an effect on dry joints). Dry joints can be caused by too much heat, movement when soldering, solder without flux... You could test this idea by resoldering the joints with a little new solder. It could also be an intermittant connection somewhere else - most likely in the new pin you needed to create - it could have a poor solder connection on one side of the board or the other (did you ensure there was solder on both sides of the board when adding the new pin?) or perhaps a poor connection where your new pin conects into the wiring harness??
  2. Well here the story.. 7 cars turned up for the cruise 2 Merc Silver 2 Acid Rush 1 Blood Orange (Me) 1 Blue Print 1 Phantom (XR6 N/A) We all drove together most of the way but we were seperated halfway up the moutain by a couple of slow cars that managed to get in the middle of the convoy. I was in the front half and we made it ot Malaney and waited about 10 mins for the others to arrive (we didnt know that they were behind a VERY slow car. After 10 mins we thought that they must have turned off at Montville - so off we went back through malaney and off to montville. When we didnt find them we though we would try the dam - so off to the dam, not there. At this time we stopped for lunch. Then off to the other side of the dam, (and through both montville andf malaney again)... still coudlnt find them. So we stopped and took some photos. It was getting on by this time so we headed for home. On the drive home (back through malaney) we passed on of the other 3 cars at an intersection. After pulling over and chatting we found what had happened DOH! Anyway here are some of our photos (they took some as well)
  3. My surging at 2000rpm has been fixed - it turned out to be a faulty VCT solenoid. Took them 3 days to fix it!!! (One day the first time, then two days the following week)
  4. I have auxillary audio and you are correct - it goes in that position
  5. Thanks for the advise - I will try it. But I have an auto, so if I just let the car coast down to lowest spped would that do??
  6. They got back to me and said they downloaded and installed an update and that it still didnt fix it - they are talking to Ford today....
  7. My problems Rattle from loose heat shield - fixed last night Cut in steering wheel face - new airbag on order Surging at 2000rpm - at dealer last night. still happening.
  8. The dealer had the car last night (they have a service shift from 5pm to 12pm) Anyway - when I picked up the car they told me it was the VCT. (And that was all they said) So I took the car and drove off. And guess what aaarrrhhhh THEY DIDNT FIX IT. I rang them and they are still looking into whether they need part, whether it was supposed to be fixed..... the technician didnt write anything down about the problem.........
  9. My Turbo is now 1 week old, and has 1100Kms on the clock. Today it started 'surging' whilst driving home. I have stopped and started the car a few time and it is still having. It only seem to happen between 2000 and 2500rpm - irrsepective of gear. Its an Auto, and ive tried it in Auto (Adaptive), Auto (Performance) and manual modes. It happens under power and when cruising - it doesnt happen all the time but comes and goes. The tacho pulsates when the power surges. It happens whether I use the cruise control or not. I have rung 3 dealers and Ford and noone has heard of it or even has any ides what it may be. It is booked in with a dealer for their night shift tomorrow. I have only used Optimax petrol.
  10. Mine only has 1100 on the clock - so its not runin yet. I'm getting about 15.5 in my normal driving (mostly city with some highway). When I took it to buderim - mostly highway I got about 12.0 for the trip. But I havnt be pushing it very hard yet - wanted to take it nice and easy for the first 3000kms or so. I have my trip computer set to instantaneous fuel consumption most of the tim e- and it is interesting to see that when you first step on it away from a stand-still it jumps to about 60l/100kms (due to the very low speeds obviously).
  11. No that bad when you think about it. I was going to buy a BMW 325i it was going to be about $80K The GT-P 1. Is bigger (much bigger) 2. Has a 290Kw DOHC V8 (vs 130Kw approx 2.5l straight 6) 3. Comes with better sound system as standard 4. Comes with better seats as standard 5. Comes with the body kit as standard 6. Comes with much cooler 18" alloys as standard 7. Has a much larger "presence" on the road then the 5 year old 3 series 6. Comes with 3 year warrenty (BMW is 2) with the option of up to 6 years (BMW max is 3 years total) Down side 1. BMW has better build quality (but that sort of stuff is fixed by Ford under warrenty anyway) 2. BMW is much lighter (but it is much smaller too) 3. The handling characteristics of the 3 series is better (slightly) then the 1800Kg BAs
  12. I kept the first aid kit from my BMW (it came with one) and it is too big for that space - but I'm sure somebody will come up with something... How about bungee cords...
  13. I've got a November and it looks identical to the photos above. Do where does that leave us? What have they changed for the post march exhausts??
  14. Thanks - I thought it must be something like that. If only it was a little bigger I could put an amp in that dead space...
  15. When removeing the boot lining to inspect the sub woofer and amp o noticed an unused area on the right hand side under the parcel shelf. I was wondering what does in there?? Is it the Sat nav equipmrent?? Or perhaps part of the DVD system??
  16. Are se hettign somewhere?? I thought that from the posts so far both the pre and post look the same. Can somebody with a pre March post whether theirs is the same please.
  17. Mine only has 1100kms on mine and it idles at just below 2l/hr.
  18. I followed the instructions from bdennis and it works fine - I just used 6 crimp on spade connectors
  19. I downloaded it from My Ford If you register and select your cuurent car as a BA XR6T then you can download the manual from the "Glovebox" section of the web site. It is in PDF format and is just under 10Mb in size. I have a relativly slow connection from home so I wont post it.
  20. So what does that mean?? Did they not change the exhaust?? Or did I get a pre-march exhaust somehow?? Or did they change something other then the muffler??
