  1. I have them - love them - worth every cent. Look great, there are far fewer of them out there (so you look a bit different) and they handle really well. Be sure to get the 18" spare as well - it costs less then a replacement tyre!!

    Restraint Light

I had the same problem in my BMW - the problem turned out to be a cable running from the seat that had come unplugged. They replaced the cable and all was fine (dont know why they replaced it instread of just pluggin back in though)

    Interior Lighting

Steering wheel control are normally not lit. I find them easy to operate from memory. There are three on each side and the middle one has a recess. Find teh recess and you know where your buttons are.
  4. At this stage I'm less likly to be away on the 20th - So I vote 20th also
  5. I have started to notice a creaking as well...... Only noticable at when wheel is tuned 3/4 of a turn to the right (so far anyway)
  6. Are you talking about putting a filter between the amp (the head unit) and its load?? If so how does this avoid the amp (in the head unit) from amplifying these frequencies?? Surely the AMP will amplify all frequencies within its capabilities that are contained in its input signal. The filter (the one we have installed) will then prevent some of these frequescies from reaching the load (speakers or additional amp). If you wanted to prevent the amp in the head unit from having to amplify various frequencies you would need to posistion the filter on the input side of the amp not its output side. (which of course would not be a wise idea) Am I missing your point perhaps - but I dont see how a filter on the output of an amplifier will effect what freequencies that amplifier is outputting?
  7. That sounds promising - I'll get Ford to look at it when im in.
  8. I havent had the wheels screeching yet - Havent turned off the traction control. I guess that means there is still more fun to come.....
  9. I drove around this morning with my lights on (in normal sunny weather) and you can not see the blue lighting during the day at all.
  10. I've had it one month now - one week of which I was away - done 4500kms
  11. Corrosion is an electro-chemical phenomenon - so it is possible that there would be any electrical solution to the problem. Perhaps the "box" sends does something to disrupt the electro-chemical process therby stopping corrosion from occuring??? My chemistry is a bit "rusty" perhaps there are more knolegeable people out there for this subject.
  12. Rod, For the footwell lights you just plug them in to the sockets. They are already there if you have Premium Sound. Cheers Chris Rod has a ute with prestige sound - premium sound is not availiable in the ute.

    Xr6t Vs Ts50

Either a BMW 325i or XR8 (considered SS aswell - before I test drove) Probably the XR8
  14. Sounds like it is comming from somewhere inside (below the silver panel).

    Premium Brakes

The cost of the premium brakes when ordering the car is about $3000 - $2950 sounds right. Does anybody know if its possible to have them fitted after delivery?? How much it would cost??
  16. When ever I use the SSS in manual mode it squeeks every time I push it forwards or backwards. Its getting really annoying - but I dont want to drive in one of the fully automatic modes. Has this happened toanybody else - is there an easy fix?? If not I'll have the dealer look at it when its there in 2 weeks time.
  17. The momo one has momo embossed into it. (down the bollom) The momo comes in 3 colour choices. And it has small bits of silver plastic next where yout thumbs go (3 and 9 OClock). Also it is made overseas (Italy ??) Also it costs more. I didnt like the Momo wheel. Because of the little bits of plastic the leather ends about 1.5 cms sooner. Because of this the stiching is tied off right under your thumbs and it rubs everytime you move your hand.....
  18. That would be why my oil analysis results looked better than I would have thought. Most engines don't get a real good run-in effort at the factory, however if a manufacturer is telling you to not change oil until 10000 or 15000 kms, they'd better be pretty sure that the engine won't drop a s**t before the first service!! As Silverhawk says, better to err on the side of caution, unless you know more than the average punter. Just to clarify, what is the side of caution. Is being cautios ignoring the service department and askeing them to change the oil anyway. OR is being cautious following the recommendations of Ford and the service guys?? My car is booked in for its 3000 (actually 4000) next week and I have asked for an oil change and the results of your analysis makes me wonder if I should change my mind and go with Fords reccomendation??
  19. I am not an expoert in this area so I am sitting on the fence on this one but.... If the car in standard form can withstand NT temeratures and the Gold Coast is not hot enough then wouldnt that mean that what ian has done to his car is actually safe -due to the large dedundancy in the system to start with (as long as his car doesnt go to the NT)???
  20. 1. ??? Dont know - last run we had 8 interested parties 2. ??? I dont, cant speak for the others 3. Been 2 this year with another being organised for next month 4. Through this forum 5. None
  21. The yellow, red are the window motor wires for the drivers side. The yellow/black, red/black are the window motor wires for the passenger side. The Grey/Yellow is the +ve voltage The Black is ground You are going to have to improvise a solution using the wires you have availiable. Basically use standard LEDs and resistors and wire them fromt he Grey/Yellow to the black. They will be on all the time that the windows have power going to them.
  22. Rockey How many wires do you have going to the switch, and if more then 6 what positions are they in ? (if only 6 - they are 4 for the motors, +ve and Gnd - no wire for illumination - you could stil do somehting just a little trickier)
  23. Looks good Ian - I can imagine it now a wole line of Turbos flying down the new Brisbane - Goldcoast Highway
  24. Do the windows go automatically up from the door switches or only when you set the alarm?? Do they go automatically down at all (except driver door - they all do that)??
  25. I am considering getting them manufactured for retails sale (they work on all cars not just fords - I have installed them in a Honda prelude and a Toyota Camry, and my XR6 Turbo so far) If members are interested (I already know some are) then I can supply them (in limited numbers) with instructions for installation for $100 each. Installation is straight forward taking about 30mins each.
