That would be why my oil analysis results looked better than I would have thought. Most engines don't get a real good run-in effort at the factory, however if a manufacturer is telling you to not change oil until 10000 or 15000 kms, they'd better be pretty sure that the engine won't drop a s**t before the first service!! As Silverhawk says, better to err on the side of caution, unless you know more than the average punter. Just to clarify, what is the side of caution. Is being cautios ignoring the service department and askeing them to change the oil anyway. OR is being cautious following the recommendations of Ford and the service guys?? My car is booked in for its 3000 (actually 4000) next week and I have asked for an oil change and the results of your analysis makes me wonder if I should change my mind and go with Fords reccomendation??
