  1. Your right, couldn't recommend enough, really great bloke with great workma ship and value and support second to none I've come across, thanks again unclewal.
  2. Just an update for those interested, I ended up taking my Turbo to ben at procharge, for a rebuild and couldn't be happier, he is a awesome guy to deal with and was very helpfull, took the Turbo to him and within 24hrs had it back with new genuine chra, not only that, when he gave it back to me I thought it was new, couldn't believe how clean it came up and all this came way under the cost of what I had been quoted elsewhere. Have the Turbo in now and car is going awesomely thanks to ben and unclewal for putting me onto him anyway moral of the story is if your Turbo is shagged no matter where you live, seriously consider sending it to ben at pro charge. Thanks for the tip unclewal...
  3. The non genuine chra can be found on eBay, search other countries.
  4. Was thinking of non genuine chra, can get a Chinese one for around $350, has not been balanced though. Anyway will take my turbo to pro charge as Ben there sounds like a good bloke and the price is really good from what he has told me. As far as install goes, I will be doing it with a mate, we have taken the turbo off once before to replace actuator, was a bitch of a job, particularly because of a pita bracket under the turbo, however removed that last time so should be slightly easier.
  5. Yeah I'll be happy with the low cash option that see's me back over 200kw for time being.
  6. What are benefits of gtx? Price difference? Mods required? Engines done 200000k's, so planning on just running 8psi on it with original turbo at this stage, don't want to push it too hard.
  7. At this stage I'm taking it to pro charge relentlessxr6 for hopefully a rebuild,
  8. Called Ben at pro charge, seems like a good bloke and has the best price I have come across, will be taking it in to him next week, will keep you guy's updated . Thanks for all of your input.
  9. Sounds promising unclewal, will give him a call tomorrow, thanks for your advice.
  10. Yeah that one has sold already, I'm in Kensington, Melbourne.
  11. I meant, seller says it's for xr6 but part number is 723157-0002, it has a rear Ford housing, but hen I look the model no, up, it states it's used for diesel engine, he has great feedback and says it has no shaft play, would this likely be a direct replacement.
  12. Ftg's credit, the guy I spoke with seemed like a genuine guy, did not however mention a warranty. I have found a supposedly genuinegarrett gt3582r which the seller day's is for xr6
  13. Wreckers are after $1000 for one with 150000k seems a bit of a gamble.
  14. I have an 03 ba,I understand it's not ideal to go copy, but trying not to put much cash into this car as I'm not sure how long I'll keep it. Will call the wreckers now, I'm in Melbourne so could pick it up.
  15. Hi guys my turbo is shagged/ noisy bearings and am looking at a replacement, now I know ideally I would put in a new garret core but finances won't allow that and the car has $200000k on it so may not be worth it, any way I have found a cheaper gt3582 copy and was wondering if that would bolt straight up, been searching for the gt3540 specs and haven't had any luck finding them to compare, this is where you guys come in with your plethora of knowledge, the specs on the one I'm looking at are as follows trim 56, t3 flange, ex 82, Ind 61.4, ar70. Will this fit up and if so what sought of modifications would I have to do? And would retune be required? Any input would be muchly appreciated.
