  1. It was pretty busy so I only managed 3 runs. First 2 were 13.2's and the third was a 13.5. I tried to stall it up at about 2000rpm on the third run and got too much wheelspin off the line. I would have liked a few more runs to play around and see what differences such as traction control and different stall ups would have made. The car would have happily run 13.2's all night, no doubt about it.
  2. I ran last night at willowbank and did 13.2 with an air temperature of 13 degrees. July 2008 FG Turbo 6 speed auto. No mods whatsoever. 7000km's on the clock. Half a tank of Caltex 98 Octane fuel. Full size spare tyre in the boot. No tricky launch, just released brake and hard on the accelerator. No stall up. I'd never been on the strip before so it just goes to show how good these cars are as there was no skill to my technique. Even left the baby seat in the back.
  3. Pretty happy with my insurance cost. I had Just hope I never have to call on it. AAMI was significantly cheaper than any other quote I got. 31 year old Rating 1 Male in inner Brisbane. 2008 FG XR6T $590 with AAMI ($500 excess) Happy with that.
  4. Only done 1800km's now but my last tank was 13.7 L/100 on Caltex 98. Probably about 70% city driving. I guess it goes without saying that it all comes down to the way you drive it. I reckon even at this early stage of the motors life I could get high 12's around town with a bit of conservative driving.
  5. Got my FG Turbo Sedan in November 08. 1700km's so far with no problems. Just wish I could drive it more. I keep thinking of excuses to duck down the road.....
  6. I upgraded from a 99 Corolla. Thank goodness for that!
  7. Hi All I have recently taken delivery of a brand new FG XR6 Turbo. It has been a long wait but my wife finally gave me the green light go get one and I couldn't be happier with the car so far. Just need to find more time to drive it. One question I have is how do I make MP3 cd's? The few that I have tried so far have been unceremoniously spat out by the cd player and I'm none the wiser as to what I'm doing wrong. Are there instructions documented somewhere around how to set up the file structure? I have just created a folder by artist name and copied files into it. Am I correct in my understanding that it takes both MP3 and WMA? I have looked in the manual without luck. Any help appreciated.... Cheers
  8. Hi All (my first post) Have been reading these forums for a few years now just to learn a bit about the XR6T with the plan that when I finally had the funds and the timing was right (approval from my better half) I would get one. I'm now thinking sometime in November I might finally make my move. Test drove an FG the other day and I don't think I can wait any longer. I am looking at getting a new FG XR6T in nitro with premium sound, air bags, bluetooth, floor mats and alarm. What sort of price should I expect to be able to achieve (drive away) in light of Fords current offer of national fleet pricing for all customers? I was hoping around $45k from a dealer here in Brisbane. Is this realistic? Cheers
