  1. Right, ute all fixed now, Ford come and collected it from me and left me with a drive car, next day it was delivered back to me all fixed at NO charge to me at all....Faulty cam sensor on the exhaust side (that's what they told me) yay, thanks everyone who helped with their advice....Cheers.
  2. Ute has the following: Fault Code # P1340, Camshaft Position Sensor, P1381 and P1386 Camshaft Position Timing Over Advanced on both Cams. Now why couldn't Ford have picked this up back in May????
  3. Has anyone heard of a stretched timing chain on a BA XR6t?
  4. I got them from a company called Chevot Equipment in NZ cost about $100 (NZ$) there are some for sale on www.trademe.co.nz
  5. Today the ute goes in for a diagnostic scam, hopefully they find the problem....
  6. No I haven't even thought of a fuel pump, but the surge only seems to happen when your foot is lightly on the accel pedal between 20-40km
  7. Sorry, all I have done to it is lowered it and fitted the head light covers and tinted windows, only cosmetic mods, no engine mods....
  8. The last owner had it from new(2003,9 years),as a work vehicle only had it serviced and maintained no retune no mods except for the exhaust, ute has done 205000Km's I have now replaced TPS, cleaned out throttle body and replace the hose off that (big split all the way around it),coil packs(all but 1 had crackes) and spark plugs.Checked the 1 way valve off the cam cover and cleaned that out, replaced the BOV vac hose too (was to short) Over here in NZ a retune is going to cost me $1195+gst($1375NZ$),$309+gst for a 2nd hand cat off a vehicle done over 100000km's, which is money I done have to waste on this ute as it was meant to be just a run around,to date it owes me $11800 (NZ$) and yes I am trying to do fix it on the cheap,so any other ideas?
  9. $309+gst (NZ$) for a 2nd hand cat done over 100000km's, everything over in NZ is too expensive to replace or repair, got told that it may be a faulty O2 Sensor which I will disconnect tonight and take for a drive.
  10. It has a cat back bolt on exhaust, so tomorrow and $150 it will have the cat removed and a twin straight pipe welded on, hopefully that fixes the problem.....
  11. Hey guys, no it hasn't been tuned it is stock standard apart from the bolt on exhaust....now can I cut the cat out and run a straight pipe? Last night it stalled/cut out on me 3 times, in traffic, like it was flooded or had a block....gurrrrr
  12. Hey Guys, I have tested the car the last week with a TPS from a BF XR6 (non turbo) and it still does the surge, but not as often and not at the 2500RPM side only around 1000-1500RPM, any ideas?
