  1. Hi. Installed a standard replacement fuel pump module for my ba xr6t turbo sedan a couple weeks back It was a Delphi branded unit from Repco (where I work) Now after installed it started car and all good. I did notice it seemed ok then but wasn't looking for any noise. I don't really drive the car much as my wife does but I did notice this week that there was a slight humm I could hear which I though was from engine bay but earlier my wife.got home and I walked out and could hear pump about 10 Meyers away or more. Now the noise is not a whine but rather a loud humming sound....however if I turn car off and on again it's not there for a bit it's allot quieter ..... Let it sit for 10 min then went for a drive in town (about 4 ks away) got out at shop and it was fine.....got back home and could hear it again but not as bad. Question is can anything else cause it to be noisy ....or did I get a dud pump.im under impression of there noisy there noisy all time.
  2. Hi. Curious more then wanting to do it. But I have obtained a couple of new VCt solenoids for my ba xr6t for next to nothing. Before I go to swap em I've herd there's some very small filters in the oil gallery for them that can get a bit clogged. Are these on all the engines? Can I remove the front cam caps without removing the timmong chain etc to access these filters? As said curious about these. Cheers
  3. As said carby cleaner...however I cleaned some injectors myself with carby cleaner and I thought I got most gum out untill.I sprayed some "nulon upper engine" cleaner in them which is a foam and my god the amount of sh*t that it got out of them by just spraying that after the carby cleaner.....I would definally use it again. https://automotivesuperstore.com.au/nulon-uec150 And I was useing nulon pro strength carby cleaner aswell.
  4. But if I was to change them would these work? https://www.tiperformance.com.au/products/raceworks-female-5-16-plastic-quick-connect-efi-fuel-fitting-to-5-16-barb/ Or https://automotivesuperstore.com.au/raceworks-rwf-715-05-05p?utm_term=RACEWORKS-RWF-715-05-05P&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1fDQjsvO9AIVoplmAh1S1ggNEAQYAyABEgKAFfD_BwE
  5. Thanks guys. Ok I'll most likely reuse them just though while I'm replacing the hose as it's extreamly perished looking...that I'll do the connectors aswell as they have a oring in themmmjust though maybe they perish aswell over time and leak?
  6. Hi. On a ba xr6t. The rubber fuel line from the regunalto and main line to 2 steel hard lines at firewall. There 5/16 size however is it possible for me to replace the quick connect fittings with a replacement fitting? I need to replace the rubber hoses asap bit at same time want to do it all and replace the fittings aswell. If so anyone have a link?
  7. Didn't thing a 2004 ba turbo has a post O2 sensor. Normally if it's had an aftermarket exhaust or a bf exhaust pit on that sensor hole just has a bunch in it anyway. Sure your not leaking fuel at all? Is the 30l going by dassh or actually working it out at fuel pump at servo? Try disconnecting battery for 10 min then reconnect and go for a drive see how it is.
  8. Stock spring pressure is actually like 3-4 psi. I did replace my stock tuned ba one with a 5psi turbo smart without issues untill it overboost when I changed to copper spark plugs which is so weired. Back to irridiums and no issues.
  9. I have looked ito useing a fg turbo map in a BA turbo and been told it wont work. has anyone actually used one without issues?
  10. nop not good at all. but all good now though haha
  11. Update. Solved. Found pice of ss growler intake broke away and restricted intake every now and then.
  12. Read codes. Have 1 for ovwrboost which I know about as it does it sometimes but have 2 new codes which have never been there. P0826 and p0828 Both relate to the selector manual shifting. These won't cause my issue though could it?
  13. Anyone had this issue. Ba xr6 turbo Drove before and when accelerating randomly it just looses power ...exactly like if throttle is closed shut all sudden but foots still in same spot...back off and accelerate again and seems ok...next corner do same ..it seems fine...next corner does issue again...then mote be ok for a while but does it again. Mainly did it when come on boost (3 psi onwards. It's not overboost etc it just feels like throttle is being instantly shut ....nothing....then fine for a bit. Goes back to idle speed when it does it.
  14. Thanks. Was told there different and can't be used without tuning to suit. Also connections different....but maybe I was mistaking it with the n/a with the connections
  15. So a FG turbo one should work fine Inna ba bf turbo
  16. Thanks...wow ford wants 280 here. I'll ring another dealer Although I was under impression that the ba bf tuebomones are different to the FG turbo? Different pinned and connector?
  17. Thanks. I can't find the specs on said sensor. However everywhere I look shows that number being suited for the car ...only a couple places don't lost it like supercheap but they lost other brands for it. Also I was wrong. It seems Bosch them selfs don't make the one they recommended anymore (says no longer available) so I'm guessing this is why this other number has come along.
  18. Hi. Wanting a new map sensor. It's a ba xr6 turbo. I have come across the following which I have seen is suitable for the car etc. But wanting to make sure. As I understand the factory one is a 2 bar and this one I've linked is a 2.5 bar. Would that matter? https://www.bosch-motorsport-shop.com.au/t-map-sensor-2.5-bar-130-deg-c The one Bosch themself recommend and also supercheap says there upwards of 250 plus. But a few places has said this one is the factory equivalant
  19. Haha yeah I'm open to all opinions etc. Just weired. Maybe when I'm swapping them I'm hitting some wireing or something. ..ah well I'll sort it out. Atm it's running ok. Prob just weather here as some days it's cold and dense air and others it's just normal Haha
  20. Hi. So. I changed spark plugs with factory plus and factory gapped (1.1mm) for a ba xr6t stock tune. Ran ok....when giveing it heaps went fine no issues etc. Couple weeks later I decided to try (experiment) just normal copper plugs with a 1mm gap. First drive I could feel it wanted to go better (very slightly) so took it on to high way and from a stand still have it a bit and it went pretty good then boost cut and limp mode (over boosted) so drove it steady and came good. Seems to hold 6psi then spikes . To 9ish Put other plugs back and seems ok So decided next day I'll try the copper plugs again and did it again.. Question.....can copper plugs cause this 😂😂 everything was fine and checked out fine
  21. Most likely the S5 solenoid. They can cause different issues and one is what your saying
  22. Heaps people put n/a box Inna turbo. Ofcourse if U pump heaps power or drive like you stole it even with a turbo box you will wear it out Turbo box has larger planatary gears and a stronger convertor housing otherwise everything internally and case wise is same same. (Unless been modified innpast) The output shafts do have side to side play bit the tail shaft yolk keeps it straightm as for in and out play I don't recall it haveing any. I'd say it would have been the needle roller bearing which sits between planatary gear set and output shaft or the one that sits on other side of planatary gear set ..would have munched up causing the in and out play (and plob planatary gear damage etc)
  23. Good stuff Curious. That banjo. Is it supposed to spin freely? Like really easily. I'm yet to check air leaks on it but just noticed since new it seems really easy to spin compared to one my mate had for his.
