My Sep. '03 N/A has had some of the usual problems identified: *‘shh shh’ noise coming from wheels (handbrake) - fixed with adjustment on the 2nd attempt by dealer. *exhaust heat shield rattle on idle - fixed by tossing exhaust and getting extractors + new 2 1/2 in system. *Car stalls, and often at traffic lights or when coming to a stop ) - reset base idle, stalling stopped. *Car will idle very roughly and RPM drops like its going to stall ) - reset base idle, still a bit rough but improved. *Steering wheel shudders excessively when turning at low speeds - dealer says no fix its a characteristic of the car. And: *B-pillar plastic shroud fell off - replaced under warranty. *Radiator bolts holding electric fans stripped (during production), fan shroud loose - dealer fitted new bolts. *Side air bag replaced after warning light came on. The dealership has been great but the Ford factory quality control leaves a lot to be desired.
