I'm sure intune would be more than happy to just put out 2 degrees of timing from 2500 to 4000rpm for you, that's probably all it will take, and you'll barely notice the power difference...

How To Hook Up An Air Fuel Ratio And Voltmeter?
Lawsy replied to faygun's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
It will make a difference if you get the correct sensor for the guage. The factory guage is a narrow band guage. It will send only 2 voltages, telling the PCM that the mix is lean or rich.... A wideband will give you a resolution of about 0.05, alowing you to see exactly whats going on, all the time..... This is what you need, a wideband O2 sensor. -
On second glance, it actually does die a tiny bit..... Well, ok, a very tiny bit, but there are two points on that graph that are irritating me a little (not hard to do today, it seems). They are the points points that are 725nm and 675nm in value (152.5km/h and 160km/h). These two points need to be 750 and 720 respectively and then it would look much nicer to my eyes. It just looks like to much of a dive and you'd definately feel that as well. These two points need to continue to hold a gradient only slightly greater than the previous two points, not only would this probably mean that peak power is higher in the rev range (in this case, a good thing) but the urge 1500rpm before each gear change wouldn't feel like wasted revs, you'd want to take it that far for each and every hard shift because of how damn good it feels....... But I'm a picky bas*ard, and I know that this tune will just shred up the streets!

His torque converter just got owned... Well done

Stop posting doom and gloom, you're only feeding a dude who is already emotionally insecure enough about his car, he doesn't need someone who is slightly ill informed to push him on. Anything below 12.8 AFR is 100% safe in these cars. Proven on the track and in theory (countless times) up until around 280 - 300rwkw. And with only 220rwkw and probably less than 8psi of boost (I just don't see how it could be more) there is absolutely no way that anything short of a 13:1 AFR is going to even START to damage his engine. Something would have to seriously go wrong, or be going wrong, to do any damage whatsoever. But since the graph doesn't show anything like pinging or valve springs falling over (and why should there be) then he is perfectly safe to belt the thing around with that tune. I don't think anyone else on the forum (short of the stupidity of geeseman) would disagree here... So let me make what I'm getting at as clear as possible. The only way, in its current tune, for this guy to blow up or even remotely damage the engine, is if there was a prior weakness in the motor. The tune itself will not cause any damage, nor will it start to. I can't put it any clearer than that.

Oh now this is interesting... Very tough looking motor. But are there any more pictures? Build up pictures? I'd love to see some of those if you have any. Top work!

Well done mate. It's good to see that you're not stuffing about. It appears to be a nice smooth graph (appart from a little edge just before peak, not sure if it was a scanning artifact, or an engine cough) and the the AFR's are well and truely on the safe side. I would say that G&D are purposely using a bit more fuel than the norm to keep the burn cooler, and allow for more timing. Which makes perfect sense to me seeing as it appears that you're not running a massive intercooler (which would then allow you to get the AFR's closer to an even 12 (or just under) at redline. This would be much closer to ideal). It definately looks the goods. So, great too see mate, top effort. Ps. Talk to Geea about modding the gearbox.
-
I'm not sure where you came from mate, but take a valium. It looks fine to me. Fine as in "Its not about to blow up tomorrow" type fine. It is a generic tune, without any proper modification to the timing maps, cam phase maps or AFR's to suit his engine alone, so of course you're going to have less power, crappy AFR's and its going to be falling over too early... And um... Wake up son, the second map is the factory tune.... Also, which ever tuner told you, LightningXR6T, that the injectors are running out of puff on an 8psi tune should never get your business, or anyone elses business, ever again. Turn it up.. Thier statement basically contradicts every one of the best tuning houses in Australia. Do not speak with them again, they are making you worry about something in the hope that they can get some money out of you down the track. [personal attack edited out] So try this. Get it custom tuned FIRST, comment about the flash tuner SECOND. Not the other way around, as the generic tunes are fairly ordinary to say the least, and if you have it tuned by someone who actually knows what they're talking about then you won't have any worries at all, the earth will be rotating correctly, etc, and it will all be good...

Awc Products Fitted. Pics Of 'torn-a-hump'

Makes it look like you're trying to hard, sorry. -
Trust me, its fine..... If you leave the gearbox to its own devices with a custom tune it will fry itself... What kills these boxes is the slippage. If you take that slippage out you increase the life of the gearbox, and at the same time make the shifts faster. It should be softer in D though, since the manual mode was meant to have noticably faster shifts from the factory (it wasn't). Now there is actually a use for it, other than burnouts and engine braking.... [PS] It's a nizpro tune... It has come to the point now that all you have to say is, "it was tuned by niz." And then everyone stops you before you can finish it off with, "It will be fine mate."

So um... How the hell do you consider 18-19L/100km as being 'good' fuel consumption? Oh wait, you mean that its a top effort, as in, "hey check out how much fuel I can use without trying, bet you can't use that much!" kind of way? Because otherwise I'm confused at how 1 person can own a T3 that is getting great fuel consumption that goes againts, well... Every other T3 owner on the planet (backed up by test results; wheels, motor, NRMA and drive.com.au). On that note, I really need to take a crap.

Ohh no I'm not saying dive in, make sure you step with caution. Helping her out with the right intentions will lead to her being... Helped out. that's the way it has to stay until you are 100% sure you have a relationship that is worth chasing after. Because if not, if she is a clown, still help her out until whatever was needed is finished, then just stay as an acquaintance and nothing more. No baggage, no hurt. Just a little time well spent helping someone, which will simply help you out for a future relationship. ← All depends if both members of the said party would not mind just being friends in the end, if that inst the truth, then that could lead to hurt ← discernment is a good thing. If you never try, you can never gain. Time can heal all wounds and if you take your lessons with each and every situation, without just getting pissed off about it (remembering that the only person you can change is you), then you'll be the better man for it. If you get burned, its up to you as to what happens.... Long term baggage or a life lesson learned. To stay mad or forgive (respectively). I don't need to be proven in what I'm saying here either.... I only hope I can help a brother out with a bit of tried and true advice. All the old foggies who still shag 10 times a week at the age of 70 base there relationship on this sort of thing. Forgive and make the right choices... All the divorse today is the exact opposite. Get pissed off and hold onto the baggage. You decide. ← good words but a little to D&M for this time of night, on that note im off ← It aint easy though, let me tell you that much.... Yeah and I guess it is a little deep... But hey, I'm a mechanical engineer... We're always deep in something...

The more you focus on getting a shag, the less likely you are to get any sort of relationship that is worth a damn. As tough as everyone appears to be on here, focussing on there next root, they are a pack of pussies underneath who probably cry watching the news, and haven't had a meaningful relationship that they were actually happy with for years... (obvious bait). So just do the best you can to be a nice bloke. Have a selfless attitude. What can you lose? The fact that you helped someone out? Even if she takes you for a bit of a ride, who cares, you didn't lose anything, you just bullt character and will know how to handle it better in the future... Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Very unlikely When lightning strikes, the air immediately around the lightning bolt gets super heated and expands almost instantaneously, causing all the air particles around to bump into each other in a ripple pattern, causing a thunder clap. Is this kind of like what you're theorising happens with the shock wave? I mean obviously without the thunder clap, but the thunder clap might represent the force exerted on the impeller in this case. Hell, I dunno. Ring up Dr. Carl. ← Its very similar, and like a sound wave it is a transverse wave, so the particles are vibrating back and forth along the direction of the piping. Every gear change has one of these, but its just rare for it to be powerful enough to break things, but it most definately is possible...

Quite right, the forces acting on the shaft will be to the power of 4 when we are applying the force on the blades of a turbine... Obviousl there is more to the equation then just 'to the power of 4', but I can't remember the whole thing atm either, and I ain't looking it up. There is one thing we are all forgetting though... Impulse pressure. When the throttle body slams shut, it sends a very voilent impulse back through the inlet system.... Now, these pulses have more force acting along the line of the pulse, and not alot in the normal plane to the pulse (so, outward, meaning its less likely to blow a clamp off). If you manage to hit your turbine at just the right time with one of these, then sure, you can bend stuff.... Unlikely, but possible. Think of it like sending a jet of water back at your turbine for a microsecond, but at really high pressure.... Its just really rare to get one of these to perfectly time itself (rare meaning, maybe 1 in a million gearshifts will ever have this happen, I'm not 100% sure on what actually causes them to form (other than the throttle shutting)) or why they are powerfull, but meh.... You get that

Australia has one of the worlds top 10 largest empty land masses. Yep, in the middle of Aus is a big arse desert... Now, we also have a fairly successful mining industry (don't go there please...) with the right equipment to bore very large and very deep holes in places such as, the desert. Where do you store chemical waste? In tripple sealed containers out of harms way... Ooer! I know a great, uninhabitable place just like that! ... Nuclear waste problem solved.... Since no one can, or ever will live there, why not make use of it? All these idiots saying how dangerous it is :jerkit: are the same people who failed practical science... IN THIRD GRADE. They ave absolutely NO IDEA on how it works or what is involved. They are just ignorant plebs trying to get on TV. Sad, but true. Sorry, its the whole 'I can't stand idiots' anger coming out again...

From those pictures I can tell you that you'll want to move the peddle closer to the accelerator. Don't make it center, place it in the ideal position in relation to the accelerator, regardless of where the clutch is. So move it right about half an inch to an inch, cause that's no where near the accelerator, and you'll never heal toe that distance in a million years.............
