  1. The thing we all must remember is this.... If you can put something together, you can take it appart. You just need the right tools to do it. Even the best safes in the world can be broken into if you have the right tools. If you know how to manufacture one, you know how to take it appart... There is almost nothing that a diamond silicon carbide drill won't dig through, and almost nothing that you cannot melt if you make it hot enough... The point is? The new 6speed IS NOT A SAFE. It isn't built to keep people out, in the sense that the sole purpose of the unit is not to protect what's inside... Therefore, if you have the right tools, you can take it appart and strengthen whatever you want, so long as you have a custom forger and custom machinist nearby... They said the Black oak ECU was 'virtually un touchable'. Now we have an Edit that can change entire management programs in under 2 minutes... This gearbox is in the same boat; it will only take time and investment before someone comes up with a specific method in which to pull these boxes appart and start to customise what is inside.... You'll probably find this gearbox can handle 800+nm, all day every day, if given to the right mechanic to pull appart and modify... If possible, a longer 1st gear would be handy as well....

    Tyres - Got Them

Translated A few full stops next time won't go astray.. Took me a hundred re reads to get what you were on about... Cro, are you sure these tyres were under performing through your 'test track'? I get the feeling that maybe the conditions had more to do with it than the tyres because I've heard quite alot of tyre tests that rate them, especially mid corner grip (higher corner speeds)... This is where I've heard the Zero Nero's excel... So don't write their dry grip off just yet, it could have more to do with either suspension setup or the conditions on the day, rather than overall grip...
  3. Simon detuned it to 430rwkw, as he was paranoid about me breaking the CVs again. I got him to up it to (to 517rwkw... 1.3 bar I think) for the weekend play, but I promised not to drag race it, and take it easy. Brian Damn dude! Just; damn...
  4. Its great to hear that you guys had some fun. Too bad about the CV joints though fellas, next time you'll be able to run a bit harder hopefully. Also, you lucky bastards, you got shotgun in brians car... Is that the first time he has driven the car in its current state as well? What sort of power was it making at the time? Bastards... [edit] Ahh, didn't see you post brian... So was that your first fang in its current tune?[/Edit]
  5. So ahh, I'm assuming the night is coming to an end fairly soon, any updates? I hope he goes one better tonight, he deserves it.
  6. Could this be a new craze? A bunch of LPG sucking turbos? I would think that with the right LPG converstion, and a well tuned Edt, we'll see some fairly quick T's running around. Low end torque with massive timing advance is something I've heard LPG is famous for... Wait and see....
  7. I said almost every... Some things actually do get produced to the exact manufacturers specifications, in every way... Its just rare....
  8. They're rated at 600, but really, you know you'll punish 750 through them without much hassle... Its not like you'll be sticking more than 600nm through the thing all the time. Also, if you fiddle with the electronics, I'm sure you could firm up the shifts a little and substantially increase the life of the thing.... I reckon, that after a bit of an electronic fiddle, you'll see the ZF handle 700. All day, everyday. We'll just have to wait and see......
  9. This is the same with almost every single car on the road. Its simply the bearing on one of the planetaries in 1st gear. It has to spin faster than any other cog in the box, so naturally it requires a heavier, tighter packed bearing which whines its head off... that's my understanding anyway, or something similar. A small gear spinning really damn fast.
  10. Maaaaate! You just have to be be happy with that outcome! You have done well for yourself! Look forward to hearing your opinion on the new BF, performance wise as well. Good to see you are sticking with the manual too
  11. BUT there should be three 'e's in nonetheless ... Oh well, you'll always have engineering to fall back on ... if you ever get off the forums and do some study!!! Yeah I've been on here way to much in the last 2 weeks... Bloody stooges keeping me busy... But, still a great thread nonetheless.
  12. Yeah, I eat rediculous amounts of cereal... I bet my olds just can't wait for me to finally finish uni and move out so they can stop funding my eating habbits... Its rediculous, I'll go through a box of cereal in 2 or 3 days (that is, a 600gram box, plus a 3l carton of milk)... Oh, who else drinks milk like water? lol.... I seriously can't belive I don't have a cholesterol problem or any fat. The wonders of a fast metabolism

    Fold Or Scrunch

I nearly choked on my food then... lmao!
  14. Its nearly midnight and I'm finishing off a bowl of cereal and it got me thinking, I wonder how many others come home from a hard days work/study or both, relax and after all is said and done, sit down to a bowl of cereal. I've always been like this... Its rather strange I know, eating cereal before bed, but sometimes you just goto fill the gap... You'd wonder where it all goes though, not a gram of fat on me and I'm just under 90kg (I'm 6'4" though, a little thin at the moment... need to get back to the gym.. Anyways, not the point, rambling). So, do you rate crunchy nut cornflakes? I do, I think they're great. While we are at it, feel free to comment on any other cereals, or breafast habbits that you might have... You might spark a craze of people rushing out to the local 7/11 to get something they haven't ate in years.....
  15. I find it strange that it would only happen during a shift... Are you sure its pinging? Does it sound like some little elf is throwing ball bearings around your engine bay? Or is it just like hes just slightly tapping the block with a hammer in rythm with your rpm? Our ghia has the oh so slight, but completely rythmic tap under hard acceleration. But we know 100% that it isn't pinging because we reckon its just one of the injectors being overly vocal...
  16. Yeah definately see another dealer to try something else mate. Remember, it doesn't matter where you get the warranty stuff done, anywhere in Aus.
  17. Loved it! Really good to see someone doing this in a not so public area and having a bit of fairly controlled (if you want to call it that, relatively safe I should say) fun. Get a duel exhaust system, CAI and cams plus an edit and then do it all again! More power, more noise, more tyre smoke! Oh yeah! Love your work!
  18. Brilliant stuff. Though, there is no 'e' in Lawsy.... But great nontheless. Very creative, very funny. Love your work!
  19. Yes, but I know you aren't in the NT anymore....
  20. Lets see now, you wouldn't happen to have been going about 170km/h would you . LOL good effort...
  21. that's pretty tough mate... Though I'd like to see C&V tune a little harder from 2000rpm onwards, not 3000 onwards. But I do like how the tractive effort doesn't tapper off too hard at the end, that thing will pull damn hard all the way to redline. You just goto be happy with that (ps, you have roughly 640rwNm @ 4400rpm. that's pretty monster!)!! Nice one.
  22. So what were the results? Was the problem solved?
  23. Oh that sounds tempting. Let me know what you are doing closer to the date and I'll see what I can do. I just renewed my cams (only level 3 or something, used for motorkhana's [mini rallies]) license too... Also, I might be getting a go in a formula Ford sometime in the next few weeks, I'm not sure though, its meant to be a suprise for my birthday later this month... I'm not meant to know anything . Should be good, I've possibly got a month full of motor racing lined up... Sweeeeeet.
  24. Brilliant! And at 144mph, phoar, that's what... roughly 230... Yeah 230 sounds right. Mighty fast, love your work! This is what real, hard hitting torque does to a car. It gives the thing an extremely high average applied power figure (massive area under the curve) and you just can't help but move fast when you apply this much grunt to the road!! Absolutely awesome!
