  1. Well unfortunately that plan fell through but a 6 speed conversion is underway as I managed to swap the BTR. I have been reading about the BA and bf engines and looks like I will have to settle with an LPG engine and decompress it. What would be the best one to use? Late 06 bf as they are pretty much the f6 bottom end or are all the LPG engines including the BA just as good? 400rwkw is my aim and pretty safe. Won't be driven hard every day.
  2. No idea mate, although I did notice the fuel pump started making different noises instead of a long continuous hum. I'm. Not sure what one is in it either I will have to have a look. I don't think it is stock as it has got a surge tank bolted up in there
  3. The very first engine the car had got a 3inch staino, intercooler, 42lb injectors, CAI, tune and 18psi. It blew up then I replaced the engine, wasn't able to boost (sounded like traction control) then the 2nd engine blew up about 500ks after I put it in so now it's time to build one.

  5. Cheers guys, looks like I'll go with a new block and the turbo crank if the original is fine. Also my mate had mentioned that repco are distributors for ACL and their bearings, pistons and rings are a bit cheaper than spool. Anyone have info on ACL?
  6. G'day, I've blown up my 02 xr6 turbo and plan to rebuild it using a spool imports kit with Ross pistons. Would you recommend rebuilding the original turbo engine or buying a low kms NA engine and rebuilding that using the turbo head (or NA) and after market valves, springs, injectors etc in the NA engine. Also which crank should I use if my turbo crank isn't damaged. I'm hoping for 350rwkw on 12psi. Any input or suggestions are welcome! Cheers.
  7. Hey guys, I've got a BA xr6 turbo. Recently the turbo reached its use by date so I baught another GT3582 from 'slide industries' it looks like a good turbo and can't wait to put it on. It's externally gated so I'm after a new dump pipe to suit it that fits upto a 3" exhaust, a wastegate and a manifold to suit (or can I have the std one modified?) cheers for your help, Mago.
