I Disagree. I done conversion (Turbo Bolt ons) to my 4.0 BA Fairlane Ghia , You see A xr6t is not & will not be A Fairlane hence me doing this.I wanted to mix prestige/Luxury with some performance. In your case well xt is basically the same just a pov version Eng/Drive line/Interior. But The experience & knowledge you gain doing the conversion is great also fun "At times" so I say go for gold mate ! All up my Ba Fairlane Conversion after the list I will put below where installed by myself & mate's plus Flash Tuner Plus custom Dyno Cost $2,500.00 Not bad for A now Fairlane Ghia with 285rwkw (safe-tune) on 98RON Turbo Exhaust - Ebay $80-100 TMAP2 Sensor - $110 Delivered (Ebay) The Std cold/hot piping/Cross over & Std Ic (Intercooler) Generally like the turbo exhaust come all together - $80 Look around boost Cruising/Ebay/classifieds for your turbo & Manifold & Dump - generally they can sell as package " Turbo - Manifold - dump pipe" $500 - $600 The Std Plenum you can ether take out the butterflies & use it or find yourself A turbo one with out them "I have seen people with the STD NA Plenums when doing this conversion" They say it adds extra Torque. - $Time You Can keep the Factory ECU but in doing so you must run a manual Boost controller. Boost controller $50 AutoBarn. Also you will need to drill & Tap into the sump to add your oil return line. M8 for tap 10mm for hole. $15 -$20 Oil feed line. I got mine custom made $100 Oil feed line. Brass T $10 Water return line I got A brass T & taped into heater rubber hose = $25 Water feed line I taped into thermastat housing NOTE : Tap under housing as it isn't free flowing above housing. I used 1/8" tap = $8 Also NOTE: When fitting the TMap2 Sensor Reverse wires *** 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 *** *** 4 , 3 , 2 , 1 *** I may have left out A few bit's & pieces but this is the bulk of it. : Say $1000 - $1200 Flash tuner SCT2 - $600 Includes Generic Tune to get you to the dyno SUB TOTAL $1200 Flash Tuner $600 = $1800 + Then all you will need is A custom Tune. Say $1000 = $2800

4 Wires To Tmap Sensor - Whats Ground,output Signal,ntc Resistor,+5 V
FairlaneG replied to FairlaneG's topic in ECU Workshop
opened up the loom that hold the 4 wires to the TMAP sensor noticed that the 2 grey wires where split & touching....... Can this cause any manfunction to the computer or computer components or sensor it self . The car is not starting up?? -

If you hook up the TMAP sensor wrong can you damage the sensor or the ecu ?? -
4 Wires To Tmap Sensor - Whats Ground,output Signal,ntc Resistor,+5 V
FairlaneG replied to FairlaneG's topic in ECU Workshop
Pulled a loom apart. Green heads towards firewall aswell as A Grey. Brown heads towards the Airco end of the loom there it taps into a Brown/ White striped wire that ends up involved in a 3pin connector that goes on A/C Pressure Transducer Also the other grey wire that DOES NOT head to the fire wall also mingles up into that brown/white strip wire too. Those 2 wires that you mention must be the 2 wires that go to the a/c thermistor ( Green & Grey) Question is why ?? Why to these places.... seems weird but I guess that's cause Im in wonder lol -

sorry correction.... A/C Pressure Transducer , not a/c thermistor Also why do the wires go up there for , ny ideas what for? -

FairlaneG replied to FairlaneG's topic in ECU Workshop
I see... The brown wire that also goes into TMAP sensor & 1 of the grey ones actually goes to the a/c thermistor... Does any one know why? -

FairlaneG replied to FairlaneG's topic in ECU Workshop
Nope . & Nope . New sensor.... Also when you have 6 kids xmas & A low income , Its just a wee bit hard to just pay $100's -$1000 to get it fixed. Yer I am A winner , I put my prioritys fisrt.... & use a forum to seek answers as This is all I can do for now. -

Car will not start. It did last night but when I placed foot on pedel to rev it , she died. But now it just cranks & when I relese the key to give up it near fires up. "If you get me"? OK thanks mate I will do that test now , -
4 Wires To Tmap Sensor - Whats Ground,output Signal,ntc Resistor,+5 V
FairlaneG replied to FairlaneG's topic in ECU Workshop
Thanks Alot mate.... that's what I have been looking for. BUT.... Just a question with the 2 Grey's....... 1 of my grey wires reads on 4.67V The other grey reads 0.02 "Not exact just for referance" The lower reading would that be the signal return ? -
Hi Guys , I got no referance on my 4 wires " Green , Brown , Grey , Grey " to what each one is for but I have referance on my TMAP sensor but it is useless because on the car side of things I DO NOT NO which wire is Which. I need to know what colour wire is Ground , +5 volts , NTC Resistor/ IAT , Output signal Is there any way to test for I can get referance to this any help be good ........ BTW I have FAULT CODE ........B1250 Air Temperature Internal Sensor Circuit Failure My car wont start but last night it idled but when put foot on the peddle it stalled.

If you read the post's it states tuner will not power run car to tweak generic tune with out the leaning issue fixed. If you like to troll n not help troll on another topic besides mine.... You obviously dont know the answer's but jus try looking smart by trolling my topic's

Nope no engine light. But with my Torque APP n bluetooth toggle plugged in brought up code(s)

Close 48382727273 swap the 4 instead of the 3..... Then your on the pulse. Isn't a forum for asking questions.....Questions equall knowledge = power it goes universal on all facits of life but we are not all that unfortunate to not ask I guess. Sorry for your loss.

Obviously no one knows...?? I'll update this for any one else has this problem be a good reference UPDATE: Auto Electrician say's "replace MAP2 Sensor" Will UPDATE again when I replace & check to see if NEW sensor fix's issue

Hi , I have a problem with my MAP sensor Volt reading. A fault code inspired me to get to the bottom of this. Fault code below :- : P0108 - BARO Sensor : Sensor operating : * VREF shorted to : - VREF should be less : : High Voltage Detected : voltage is greater : VWPR : than 6.0 volts. PID : : : than 5.0 volts (VREF), : * BARO signal shorted : reading is in : : : as a result it failed : to VPWR : frequency : : : above maximum : * Damaged BARO sensor : : : allowable calibrated : * Damaged PCM : : : parameter. : I originally thought MAP2 Sensor but seems they are $150+ dollars I thought I would start with checking Volt readings threw the 4 wires connecting to MAP2 switch. I refereed to Repair manual for STD volt reading for test. When the car is cold it should read 5960 Resistance Ohms & 4.3 Volts. Green wire reads 5.5 Volts Brown Wire Reads 5.0 Grey Wire Reads 2.0 Grey Wire Reads 2.2 What is causing this , what do I need to inspect next... Help Kind Regards Dan

How Many Bar Is A Xr6T Fuel Regulator ?
FairlaneG replied to FairlaneG's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
Yep I reset the codes then took it for a nurse up the rd friday arvo. The only codes that came back rekated to the Sensor. I Might have to go over wiring I think as I had to replace the plug from STD NA to the MAP2 plug (different shape) There are 2 wires that look grey/white ish... I 99.9% positive I reversed this with out fault but Hey.... Couldn't be 2 sure I guess...... Buggers me how to test... Ohm reader , Every wire should read a different ohm or Volt correct? -
A bunch of codes came up when I scanned my car couple days ago. They All lead to the MAP2 sensor. Let you's know how I get on when I replace & check.
