  1. ***************************************************************************** *** IMPORTANT UPDATE ON WIRING DIAGRAMS ************************************* ***************************************************************************** There is a guy on ebay selling the complete BA BF and FPV workshop manuals and wiring diagrams on a CD. These are the real top quality ford electronic versions. If you want one, his ebay name is lordgrum. The engine is in the Patrol now and runs great. I had a problem with the ECU killing the fuel injectors on coast down (foot off accelerator and using engine braking to slow down) and throwing error codes as I don't have a VSS (vehicle speed sensor) connected. I have just fixed this and it now runs perfect by shorting the clutch engagement sensor to ground. (CES is pin B05 on ECU connector C-301 (middle connector)) Without the CES pin connected to ground the ECU believes that it is effectively free revving in neutral and thinks, ohh sh*t I can't control the engine speed to idle so it starts killing the fuel injectors. I had to add this wire to my loom as I had an auto loom and not the manual version. More info about my build is located here. [it's a long read.] http://forum.outerlimits4x4.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=86831&start=210 **********************************************
  2. If someone has the wiring diagrams for a BA then please message me. I have been getting a few requests from friends wanting to do BA engine transplants and there are some small differences in the PCM wiring between the two models. _
  3. It starts!!! Thanks to a fellow member I got a copy of the BF wiring diagrams, so I sorted out the wiring and ran it on the ground in the carport on the engine crane. I sent the ECU to Matt at Bullet Performance Racing in Geelong and for $250 got it flashed from auto to manual with PATS / BETS anti theft turned off. See vid (33mb) _
  4. Thanks kartman. Still wouldn't mind some wiring diagrams, and I would also like to confirm whether the sniper tuner and commando software can turn the PATS off.
  5. I'm doing an engine conversion for a Nissan Patrol and fitting a BF engine. I want to go either a BA or BF complete engine harness PCM and dash harness, with a SCT X3 flash tuner - reflashed to remove the PATS (passsive anti theft system). Doesn't look like the BA workshop manual includes this in the 2000 odd pages. Also can anyone provide any information on getting the PATS removed. Can you do it yourself or do you need the full tuning software like advantage III software. ? _
  6. here is a link that works. canepa RS200 ________________________________________
  7. I think the transmission will be the New 6 speed GM 6L80 used in the 2006 corvette and probably only for V8's. Very likely the same 5 speed auto for the V6 will be used like fitted to the SV6 now. Click links below for info. GM 6L80 news GM 6L80 specs _______________________-
  8. I am interested in this. How much did you pay for the Turbo and manifold and where did you source them from.? New or 2nd hand. Thanks Grant.
  9. The GTi stealth system is a vapour injection system, not Liquid. Liquiphase Pty Ltd (who I don't think operate any more), used to a have a full system available for the older 4.0lt Ford engine in the EF falcon, which had a custom dual fuel rail. The injectors were standard BOSCH except for a custom, machined slot to allow LPG into the side of the injector. A Gas tank was fitted in the boot with an internal fuel pump fitted as well as a gas regulator. I have a magazine at home with a full write up of the Liquiphase LPG system. It's definately the way to go.
  10. Just read the latest wheels magazine and they are predicting the New VE commodore, will get this 6L80 transmission, with the option of the LS2 V8 ticked. I think it's a good thing for us motor enthusuiasts, as I loathe 4 speed auto's but LOVE the close ratio 6 speeds.
  11. I'm very pleased to say the least that the 6 speed auto's made it in to most models. There's one more item of information that I am keen to find out and that is the final drive ratio, used on the auto's. I hope Ford don't use too higher gearing (low numerical value) in the bloody stupid quest for fuel economy only. I like performance and that means low gearing. 1st Gear in the ZF is about 4.12:1, but if Ford opt for something silly, like a 2.5:1 final drive then all the performance benefits of the close ratio 6 speed auto are lost. Ahh well, I suppose, it will be pretty easy to swap to a lower diff gearset from the manual models, if they have.
  12. Ford might not have a better auto for too long, when the updated BA arrives later this year. GM has just released details of their new 6L80 6 speed auto which is going in the 2006 corvette. It will be interesting to see whether the VE Late model camira next year will get this version, it may be too early and costly. Details can be found at 2006 Corvette 6L80 6 Speed 6L80 specs Detailed pictures can be downloaded here. GM 6L80 auto pics
