  3. Hi Guys, Here is the latest... Off to the EPA this morning to get the car checked. Could have ranted & raved, but I kept it cool. Explained it was a stock system & showed him service report from my Ford dealer to say system was standard & in accordance with factory specs. The EPA guy after revving the car a couple of times, said "are you sure you haven't made any mods" The (first) test he did failed. I said what will I do now, suggested this is a far bigger issue than just my car. After this, he made a phone call, then spoke to someone else & consulted some book from the office. Looking a little puzzled, he did a second test & guess what, it passed, right on legal limit. Also while there he checked under the hood at BOV & airbox induction (both std on mine) Also in the sort time I was there, saw a WRX & Skyline both fail the test. So be aware, apparantly tese EPA guys are out & about in Sydney and they only need to have a suspicion to get you in. Just a whole heap of wasted time for me. Cheers, muzzzza
  4. Hey Zap. The car was "detected" 9am on the way to work at Padstow (for those who know it) I have to take it to Rockwood to have it cleared according to the EPA, but I will look into your suggestion & contact some exhaust shops. Feel like writing some abusive letters now you guys are firing me up. Where will I start? Cheers !
  5. Here's an update after phoning EPA... Detected by an EPA officer near where I work. How? not with sophisticated equipment... He could hear it from inside his car when the radio was on low. Very technical, hey! Mind you they said he is a very senior officer & knows a lot about cars. What a load of BS. Rang Ford, they cant even tell me what the noise level should be based on their testing.
  6. Hi Guys Found a surprise in the mailbox yesterday. Would you beleive it, a defect notice for exhaust noise. First, no explanation of who, how, where it was measured. Second, exhaust is total stock. 2003 Turbo Now I'm expected to prove my innocence by having the car tested. I thought it was innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around. If it is proven excessive, Ford have a lot of cars out there to be worried about. Has anyone there had any experiences like this? Your feedback would be appreciated. Cheers, Muzzzza...

It happens whenever 'AUX' is selected, even when DVD is powered off. Has anyone else had the same problem? If so how/who fixed it ? Thanks. Cheers, muzzzza...

  13. Well done for having the guts to try this. Not to sure I like the look. Are you worried about how much water running down the bonnet gets in the engine bay when it rains or its washed?

    XR Plates

Blonk, Those plates in NSW are what RTA call "personalised content". Technically thay can't be sold, only transferred to another family member. (I can just see lots of long lost relatives being found). According to the RTA you can only sell custom plates (what they call personailsed plus), the ones that cost you $470 p/yr. Even then there is a transfer fee of $125. I actually like the idea of the plates, I have some custom ones on my T also. Cheers, Muzzzza...
  16. Mine is the same as Jamie's. I'm very impressed, I think it finishes off the car nicely.
  17. Thanks everyone. Looks like KazaaLite is the most popular.
  18. Thanks TurboDewd. I told you I was a novice.
  19. Hi, I'm a novice at downloading music from the net. Can anyone help point me to a good website with free downloads. I'm looking for usual Cd format (.wma - I think) but I'd like MP3's as well. If got the Blaupunkt DVD which plays MP3 from a CD but haven't tried it yet. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, muzzzza...
  20. That could be mine. I had pics on another thread a couple of months back.
  21. Had shims fitted at 5000km. Since then 2 machinings (4 times all together), now new disc rotors. At 21000km now, the shudder is back. Off to the dealer again.
  22. I've got the same problem with mine. Only seems to happen on AUX (& not all the time) Let me know if you find a fix. Thanks !
  23. Hi Jamie, Thanks for the pics. You've gotta be happy with that, looks much better with the cover on. How does it attach, I can't see any external clips/screws. Cheers, muzzzzza...
