  1. should have made this clearer.. the car is a AU series 3 wagon.
  2. hi guys, need some help please. last night at about 2.30am the mrs car alarm/horn started going off intermittently. we dont have an aftermark alarm fitted on the car only the stock red emergency button on the key (which I dont even think is an alarm). I had to disconnect the battery to kill it so we could get some sleep. today I called ford who told me they thought it was the battery in the remotes, so we took the battery out of both remotes and still it keeps going off. the only way to stop it is either start the car or press the red button on the remote. does anyone have any other suggestions as I'm completley stuck and not sure what to do??? cheers in advance for your help.
  3. I asked ford if they would do the bypass for me when they fit the new tranny (which they reckon they have never heard of being done on the 6 speeds :O only on the 4 speeds) but apparently they couldnt do it any way because its being done under warranty. but supposedly the new heat exchangers are a "new and improved" version, which I find hard to believe.
  4. 1 week later and still waiting for my car...called ford today who told me my trans still hasnt even been shipped from Sydney :( bit frustrating... question to all. becuase the trans oil obviously mixed with the coolant and no doubt went through the engine, would this do any further damage that I should be cautious of??. or should everything be ok? I'm really considering selling it once I get it back as I'm going to be constantly thinking the worst after all this drama (starting to get a lil paranoid now as you can imagine).
  5. won't get the car back untill next week, If I requested would Ford run a by pass?? or if I fit one afterwards am I going to void the warranty?
  6. thanks to your lady on the desk there too, she was very helpful! because if ford didnt help me out it was going to be coming to you I'll deff be bringing it to you when I want some "go fast" bits put in. thanks again!
  7. Well got the best news today. Ford are replacing all parts and fluid (brand new transmission) but I have to pay labour which is $600, absolutely stoked!! Made my day!!
  8. out of interest, when your car "milkshaked" what was involved in the repair for you?, and how much did it cost? I've just taken my car to ford today who are saying that it will more than likely cost between 7-8k!! How ever the service manager is helping me raise a case to get for to cover some or all of the costs.
  9. Got it towed to ford today. The service manager has said he is going to put a case to ford to see if they will cover it under warranty. More than likely wont know anything until the new year now though.
  10. What was the damage to get yours fixed?? Rebuild or all new trans?
  11. lol I used to work at HN too! Every body knows how to get what they want from them. Off topic, but how's this: When I worked at HN we had a lady walk in who bought a baby monitor from the U.S and wanted to buy a power adapter for it. One of the sales guys recommended a U.S connection plug (the correct one), the lady didn't want to pay the $10 and said it was to expensive and went to Kmart and bought one. Turned out she needed adapter and a voltage adapter and she fried the baby monitor and caused some damage to the power circuit and had to call an electrician out. She complained to HN head office about the "advise" she was given, HN head office then made my franchisee replace the baby monitor and cover all costs from the sparky because they didn't want it to go any further or get media involved.
  12. According to the ACCC: "How long do consumers’ statutory rights apply? Statutory rights are not limited to a set time period. Instead, they apply for the amount of time that is reasonable to expect, given the cost and quality of the item. This means a consumer may be entitled to a remedy under their statutory rights after any manufacturer’s voluntary or extended warranty has expired. For example, it is reasonable to expect that an expensive television should not develop a serious fault after 13 months of normal use. In this case, the consumer could argue the item was not of merchantable quality and ask for it to be repaired, even if the manufacturer’s voluntary warranty had expired". Hopefully this applies to vehicles!!! I used to work in a retail computer store and soon learnt that a manufacturers warranty doesn't mean anything... Expired or not! Ill try my luck!
  13. Surely there's an ACCC law for it lol. It's done 84000
  14. Had all services done by ford except 1 which was just an oil n filter change, and warranty ran out in march.
  15. Ill see how I go! Hopefully they are open tomorrow.
  16. Wouldn't know where to start with that!! Contact ford or is their a ford customer care number
  17. So now the question is, if my car is stuck in lilydale and I have to get it towed tomorrow should I take it ford and get ripped off or should I try find a transmission specialist?? Any ideas/contacts would be helpful.

  21. Please I hope so!! Farkk what a great Christmas :(
  22. Yup the coolant has gone like a milkshake and it was only services last week too. Now what?? Is it going to do any harm to drive it?? I've gotta try get home again lol

  24. Hey guys just wondering if someone here can help me with this. I got given the big mouth kit to fit my G6ET on Wednesday, fitted it, all good. Drove it around for work for 2 days with no issues. Then last night I noticed the engine revving weird like it hunting when driving, making a funny sound almost like little back fires, and when siting on 100ks revs meter going up and down like its trying to change gears. Now I'm pretty sure that this must be the computer trying to adjust to now having so much more air coming in, but from what I have read the computer normally learns within 500ks or so. I've done at least 600+ ks since I've had it installed and its still running like a bag of sh*t. Any ideas??? Is it worth resetting the computer?? Am I doing any damage to the engine driving it around like this, because it doesn't sound healthy? Any help would be appreciated!
  25. thanks alot, I'll sus it out! by sensis you mean whereis?? or are they different maps?
