just letting u all know I finally got round to putting the glide in drives absolutely brilliant gets off the line so much quicker with the big stally id recommend one to anybody that's planning on making some respectable power I got it built by coastal performance autos in nsw he done me a dam good price and shipping to wa was cheap as chips and fast now comes the hard part of choosing what bits I want in my new engine... decisions decisions

I wouldnt say a waste of time mate just if im going to spend upwards of 20k I like to get as many facts as I can about the product out of this thread and another member I have found im going to need 14mm head studs a 360 degree thrust bearing on the crankshaft I may have troubles with the atomic flexplate if I decide to use it so from all this I have learned a lot which I didnt previously know

yea understand the process of building something big hp but the idea I'm getting from this thread is brads gear is brilliant but the assembly is a bit of hit and miss depending on who assembled it? just thinking going to bite the bullet and buy a long engine off him. have no doubts that for every upset customer there is 100 happy ones out there.

ok so I see something pretty similar between dlm website and atomics website its pretty much word for word the same with there blocks do both these companies offload there work to a outside contractor or whats the go? how can 2 different people have the exact same advertisment for there assembled motors just running different pistons and rods? im confused lol

just been looking through your build and hell yea nice ride!!!! ill give dlm a call in the morning see what they can do me for my budget I almost spent double on my gearbox so hopefully it doesnt happen again with the motor im a tad scared

I would say yes but I know very little about your engine building skills and experience (no offence) lol one thing I do love about ford forums is everybody is willing to help out and answer questions compared to nissan forums where everybody bags each other out

I have 3 other cars all bog standard I just prefer to drive the falcon to and from the airport for work trust me when the day comes and I get yellow stickered by the boys in blue it will become a track only car I ended up buying a 2 speed glide good for 1200hp which has blown my 500rwkw plan out the window gunna chase a bit more maybe 650+ ordering an atomic 998 long motor in the morning and a few other bits and pieces if anybody wants to buy any of my old gear read back up the top and its all for sale done less than 5000k so all pretty much brand new

wow all the negative feedback! at the price these bad boys cost you would expect everybody to be happy :( now im almost scared of buying one! what are dlm prices like? ive got a budget of 25k for a built long motor I would prefer a turbo manifold some big ass injectors rail and a decent plenum at that price to... but beggers cant be choosers! its going to be spent on moday regardless of feedback on atomics gear so quick go who else builds and supplies sick parts for that price? id prefer to have a one brand motor instead of spool rods cp pistons blah blah blah

just about to order a 998gt-a long motor ive read on a few of the pages about the place of people making some pretty respectable power out of these! the question is who has what bits on their car and what power and problems have you encountered ive read some awesome things about brads gear but also seen some horror stories to neither of which worry me to much im just very curious has anybody got these motors to what they are rated at

im more interested in what kinda rpm my car will be doing on the open road at 110 and how annoying it is cruising around town in 1st gear on the converter all the time surely that cant be good for things? I would like to keep the car as street friendly as possible... if there is such a thing as a 500kw friendly street car lol I work away from home and only back for a week a month sometimes even less. unfortunately im not going to get to as many race meets as I want to :( as you can tell im quite new to the whole auto transmission thing... when we played with nissan motors there was 1 box that bolted to everything and it was bulletproof lol

Powerglide with overdrive that sounds very inviting! I really do want a glide just the car drives me to and from the airport once a month for work it's a 2 hour drive at 110kph that's the only time the car ever gets driven really :( if there was a safe reliable way to manage it I really don't want to lose my overdrive :(

I'm chasing 500 at the wheels so btr is out of the question I believe :( surely there is something strong that bolts up easier than the zf 6 speeds :(

recently made the 300 club but got some pretty sweet btr 4 speed issues arrising :( now my question is what are all you ba fanatics doing for boxes? zf 6 speed is in the too hard basket and btr 4 speeds are just gay has anybody on here run a 2 speed glide or a c4 or c10 box if so how much streetability does it kill? any help or links to a useful thread would be greatly appreciated even better id like to talk to somebody that has done it on the phone but beggers cant be choosers hey! mods are as follows standard turbo flapper mod 4 inch dump 3.5 inch exhaust highflow cat 650cc injectors walbro intank fuel pump 12 pound actuator hdi cooler hd valve springs growler cai fordflash 2 slotted and drilled rotors probably forgotten heaps of other bits and pieces but that happens hey! coming in the next few days... well as soon as it turns up in the mail is a spool forged rebuild kit and billet oil pump gears
