    Flap Mod?

I own a mechanical workshop so can do all that stuff but it helps to see one done first, the mods ive done so far haven't altered the fueling so it should be safe as is, I have taken it off the road to install the valve springs etc and I am going to trailer it to the tuner for ease
  3. mine is a ba series 1, rocker cover off and fans out, pull the balancer, and take off the belt tensioner and idler, mine has a seal but I understand the later motors have a chemical seal (goop) but I would replace the rocker cover gasket and plugtube seals at the same time. The balancer will need a special puller to get off so make sure you have access to one first Cheers Jay

    Flap Mod?

hey ive finally decided to get my ba xr6t tuned! The guy that has been recommended to me has told me what to do before I take it to him, ive already done some mods (fmic , highflow cat, atomic valve springs, plugs and coils) and he is saying to put 1000cc injectors, mod the wastegate flap?? and fit a 12pound actuator spring before I take it for a tune. I can find the flaps for sale but have not found any info on how to go about modding the flap, I was wondering if anyone can shed light on this or point me in the right direction any help would be welcome
  5. Just seen it is an in situ one DOH! cool, will save me some time, thanks guys
  6. looks like that's a head removal job then! Was hoping to find an in situ method! No worries, I have a spare head so I might install the valve springs in the other head and rebuild at the same time if that is the go. Thanks for the info
  7. Has anyone ever uprated the valve springs, Im about to start some work on my 2004 ba turbo and the few guys ive spoke to said to upgrade the springs first so I need a spring compressor. Any advice would be appreciated.
  8. Happy Birthday wtf22!

  9. 04 Ba xr6t 212000kms, stock motor, has had balljoints on front, rotors and brakepads etc and turbo came loose! But still not bad for a high k car!

Hi all, ive had my Red xr6t auto for about eight months now and am just getting ready to start tweaking and modifiing it, Im a mechanic and live in Noosa, Love the car but wifey has to drive it most because I have to drive the ute to work. (not fun) but at least the ute is a ba too. I picked up the car as a trade sale cheap and have been fixing faults ever since. She is running strong now but with 212000ks im thinking of a teardown before I start with the mods.
