  1. Thanks for your help guys. The rims I want only come in the +20 and +40 I believe. The wheel shops ive called have seemed to think the +40 is the better option as the +20 will hit the guard especially if I want to lower it. I think that's what they said. So might go for the +40 on front with a spacer and see how we go. Bellato if you run a +42 with a 5mm spacer then mine should be fine. Does yours scrape or hit anything at all? Thanks again guys Yep %, brain has been fried with all this talk
  2. okay spoke to a couple of wheel shops Consensus ive come to is to run 20x8.5 + 40 all around with 245/35/20. Rear should be fine especially with 8.5. The front will be very close the rubbing on the inside. This may be reduced by running a 30mm profile tyre rather than a 35mm or by using a spacer (5mm max reccommended). Could go a +20 on the front however guards will probably need rollled. Unfortunately the wheels I want only come in a +20 or +40. Does this sound about right? Anyone run a 35mm profile with a +40 offset on the front? Still searching this dreaded thread...
  3. Fark those wheels look good. If +40 with 20x10s only just need the guards rolled on the rear then 8.5s will be fine. However he has +20s on the front, anyone confirm that +40s front and back will be fine? Sorry for probably a repeated post. I will source the forum a bit more now... Sam
  4. tried to have a brief look through the forum but 53 pages of this stuff makes it hard and pretty confusing Will this be ok? TSW Mallory in 20s 8.5 +40 front and rear running a 245/35/20 all round I know +35 is more ideal but from what ive gathered from TSW they do a +40 or a + 20 (x10 not 8.5). Ive had a dealer say that it should be fine althought 'not ideal' TSW said it would be absolutely fine without a doubt Car is stock G6eT suspension although do want to lower it if possible in the future. Thanks
  5. Thanks mate. Hard to sift through the info on here sometimes. Should have no problems as will only go to 19s
  6. I am assuming that the ssl/sssl combo works fine with most wheel sizes? I am looking at getting some soon but also want to upgrade from 18s to 19s or 20s. Sorry if its been covered in one of the nine pages of this thread Also whats the difference between g6et and xr6t suspension? I will probably do my shocks at same time after reading through some of this thread
  7. Hey mate Car looks great IMO. Love the colour blue with those wheels.
  8. I am looking at tuning my G6ET at some stage, MORPOWA would be more convenient for me but Heinrich has the better wrap. In saying that im assuming you pretty happy with that dyno read. Sam

    My G6Et Pics

Whats it making at the wheels mate? I cant quite see on the dyno. Im looking at a similar set up on mine. Just ordered some Icon Zest 19" for mine. Id also reccommend then TSW mallorys. Look tough but were a little out of my price range. Great car!
  10. Yeah the magics are awesome. I think if I upgrade my wheels I'll get the 20inch TSW Mallorys. I installed the growler kit, Sits nice and flush against the intercooler piping and when I searched for the installation guide it says you have to cut it to make it fix. Just used a self tapping screw instead of a black ford scrivet as didnt come with one. Sounds louder and can hear the BOV once pedal released under heavy accel. Cant wait to do some more mods!
  11. Yeah im looking around the same mark. Some increased power but not too much the trans or myself cant handle. I'll post a photo of the intake with the cut if it gives me drama. Just sussed your ride Bellato, looks good! Mine will be black on black soon, rims arriving next week. Just a female dog to keep clean
  12. I think he suggested leaving the airbox as im not chasing massive numbers. Around the 300rwkw mark max. He did say if you want more you have to change it. He did say it slows down the air flow into the turbo though. Im assuming because the engine acts as a pump (as well as the turbo) the air has less distance to travel through the intake piping and therefore has less time to accelerate before hitting the turbo. This is my noob guess and may only apply whilst car is travelling at slower speeds. I bought a second hand SS induction growler kit today fairly cheap, looks in good nic however this is a bit they have cut out for some reason. Only around the corner from my place though and I said id coming knocking if there were any issues. It looks like they possibly cut it to fit against intercooler piping but will install tomorrow and see.
  13. Cheers guys. Went for the long drive to Lonsdale today to see Bruce which was worth it. Knows his stuff really well and a really good price. Bruce suggested not to do the turbo side intake as it slows down air speed as it reaches the turbo. He said he would just modify the original air box plus or minus a growler kit. I think what I'll do is get the parts that I want (probably growler kit now, intercooler and exhaust) then put it on a trailer and take to Bruce so he can do injectors and custom tune. I didnt realise that when you get your car tuned by a tuner, they still use the xcal3 tuning system. I thought they had their own process and then to change it youd have to return to tuner. Hence some of my confusion.

TSW's are nice! I was looking at a set of TSW Mallorys but settled on the cheaper Icon Zests in a staggered set. Should arrive in a week or so!
  15. Still travelling alright FG09T? Have you tried tuning again or has it reoccured at stock?
  16. Hi Guys, I am looking at tuning and doing some performance based mods to my G6ET over the next few weeks months. I have recently bought some new wheels as my tyres needed changed so figured I'd upgrade which has got me in the mood to try chase a few more KWs. Car is completely stock at the moment. Not chasing massive figures. Would be happy to hit the 300rwkw club or around the mark. Mods I am keen to do: Exhaust with Hi Flow Cat from dump Turbo Side intake and battery relocation (May as well do early incase I feel the need for more Kws) Bigger Injectors Bigger Intercoooler Valve Springs etc if need be I am down in SA so Bruce Heinrich is my first choice tuner after researching some posts, question I have is it better for me to purchase upgrades all at once, have them installed and tuned altogether? Or can I get away without having it tuned after each mod? I have a family friend who is a mechanic and could do all the mods with his eyes shut, however doesnt have access to a dyno? If I get him to install different mods would a flash tuner be able to tune after each mod? Just a little unsure on how flash tuner works and usual process of tuning. Any answers would be great and if anyone has any comments of mods would be great too. Cheers Sam

Absolutely my favourite car on here! Wish I had a white car, the black is so hard to keep the dust off! What did you end up doing with regards to the spoiler? I seen Trainer has done his now and looks good. I think the mirrors would look good too but I wouldnt do the front grill or anything like that. Also what wheels are they? Vertini Magics? Cheers Sam
  18. Yeah Mirrors would look sick! And that's a good point being vinyl.
  19. Thanks guys. Would suck if you got done 106 in 100 zone though. So that's confirmed Ford could re calibrate? If so anyone know how much?
  20. I did search this post and rest of the forum but cant find a definite answer.... Would going from stock 18inch wheels to 19 inch or 20 inch effect the speedo? I read it does but because it starts a little out of whack the bigger rolling diameter brings it closer to actual speed. Also read somewhere before that its auto-recalibatred as its sensed at the ABS, which doesnt make sense to me as its still a bigger RD. Im most likely getting 19s in the next couple weeks and love to set my speedo on 103km/h, plus being a perfectionist Sorry if its been covered but theres 37 pages of this... And if it does, which im assuming it does, that ford and or tune can reset it on the comp?
  21. Looks great! Not sure what youve done to it since posting but id leave the upper chrome above the grill IMO. Although would suit it coming into Movember
  22. Well got my kit in the post this week. Installed it which was quite easy, hardest part is zip tying the cables to the passenger side. Everything can only fit one way so if your thinking its too hard to install I suggest having a crack. However,Not a fan at all of the kit. I prefer the simple normal lighting. Hence, I basically let the globes burn in, took it around the block and then took them back out. I can see how some people like them, however with my cashmere interior id rather leave it as is. Plus I love my auto headlights because im terrible without them. Im chucking the kit up for sale if anyone wants a cheap kit. Not trying to make a profit just some of my money back. They are H4 55W 6000K hi/lo kit with digital slim ballasts. $100 ono. Better to text if interested. 0432175206. Also advertised in classifieds. Sam
  23. Thanks Wenier. Just what I thought. Just wanted to make sure that it wasnt going to short circuit or stuff up a relay or blah blah blah.
  24. And just found the write ups! ...
  25. This thread is way too long. But still felt like I had to read it all incase I missed something. Bought some HID's off ebay last night, payed a little bit more than some people on here but not too much. Got--> 55w 6000K Hi/Lo HID kit, maybe should have went to 35w kit to prevent any overheating but had already bough these one so will give them a whirl Question I have is with the auto headlight feature, is only on startup that you have to have them off? My knowledge of it is that its the inital surge through the electrical system that can damage the ballast plus or minus the fact that the HIDs would have to power up twice (Once on Acc and then again once engines started) which can cause the issue. So it should be fine to then turn the Auto lights on once the car has started. As long as I make sure they are off once I go to start the car again. I might try take some photos and what not of the installation process and do a write up if I can be arsed. Much better that reading 12 pages of people asking if their Ebay seller is okay! Sam
