  1. Thanks for all your advice peeps, been really helpful. Will look into getting a flash tune done, seems like a fairly cheap mod to do that will give a fair bit more grunt, will also purchase an F6 snorkel and K&N insert instead of growler induction kit.
  2. How much will it cost to get it tuned? $1000 or so? I can take it to PitLane in Frankston, not far from me
  3. F**k it, im going to get it tuned, ha ha. You guys have convinced me, the main reason I didnt want to get it tuned as I dont want to mess with the boost as I want my car to last and thought the resale value would be better if it hadn't been boosted, but from what I've read on here you can have it returned to stock anyway. Where can you buy the F6 snorkels from?
  4. I found this, its pretty cheap (price shown is in NZD) might be the better option? Looks like it gives an extra 10rwkw? http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/ford/accessories/auction-480893486.htm#qna
  5. Oh, I see. Nah, I dont plan on having it tuned, im not trying to get huge power gains out of it, just thought if I got a growler it would give it a little more power and better throttle response, and would also make a nice induction noise. I want to leave it pretty standard, dont want to mess with the boost or anything like that, its pretty quick as it is.
  6. So you can get just get them tuned and that will produce much more power? I thought you needed a flash tuner for that. Maybe a better and cheaper option than the growler is to just fit an F6 snorkel, looks like it isnt that difficult to do. Is it difficult to change the panel filter to a pod filter?
  7. I have no idea what the OP is. Basically, I dont want to spend lots of money, but found I could do the CAI with a growler for around $500, seems like a cheap and easy mod to me, my concerns were that if I didn't replace the cat converter with a hi-flow cat it would be pointless doing the growler.
  8. I work for an insurer and have worked for a motor vehicle insurer for the past 7 years, so if you guys have any questions feel free to ask. With regard to paying less for annual paid insurance, its generally 10%, also you will save about 10% if you purchase your insurance online instead of calling them. Be careful when going for cheaper insurers, some of them will pretty much auction off the repairs to your vehicle to the cheapest repairer, and always go for an agreed value, that way there can be no arguments if your car gets written off.
  9. Luckily for me the guy I brought the car off had the F6 cooler and piping installed, but that's all he had done performance wise. that's why I was thinking it would be a good idea to get CAI done as well, a bit more induction noise and a bit more power.
  10. Hi Guys, Im new to this forum, just recently purchased an 05 BA MkII XR6T, I dont want to do any major mods to it, but I do want to get a growler CAI to get it breathing better and add a little more power, my friend reckons I will be wasting my time doing this if I dont have the standard cat converter removed, is this true? I have read about hi-flow cats on this site, but was also wondering if you can just have the cat removed and replaced with straight pipe?
