  1. Dave, Saw your car at westpoint today, it looks great! I was soo impressed that I placed my order whilst there!!! Hope you enjoy.
  2. Sound great, any photos Mondie? With bluetooth does the phone have a cradle or does it just have to be in the car to work?
  3. That's why the computer reports l/Hr not l/100km when stopped.

    Brake Lights

This is common with most cars with spoilers. I have noticed it on many makes and models of cars. It may be due to the fact the spoiler brake lights are normally LEDs and they light up faster than the incandescent brake lights.
  5. Esky> What sort of fuel economy did you achieve?
  6. In Melbourne at least I believe the woolies (safeway) use there own fuel that comes from asia somewhere. Definately not supplied from the major suppliers. I strongly do not recommend Safeway fuel.
  7. Good one, would be fairly easy to do. At least they found it BEFORE ripping out the existing lock. Worth keeping in mind.
  8. Word is, the V8 Supercar WILL have the bonnet bulge just like the one previewed at Bathurst.
  9. AVESCO rules say that the cars have to have a 5.0 litre V8. Otherwise Expensive Daewoo may have already been running the Gen III (if they could actually sort out the oil problems) .
  10. The workshop manual shows them as a replaceable globe. I think they are H3 55W globes, but they are shown in the owners manual.
  11. The orange stripes do look a bit dated! I would be surprised if the sell it with that colour. I see on the FPV website the the stripes ARE an option..
  12. I'm happy to be a "guinea pig" for a few issues like the ones that have been identified by members so far, as I understand the BA is a first model and is bound to have some teething problems. I think a list of issues would be benificial for us to verify against our cars to ensure we get the problems/issues corrected whilst under warranty. As CJF077 pointed out, there are issues that are/will be across the range. Cheers
  13. It certainly makes you feel sick in the guts seeing those photos. Hope your beast is back to it's rightful glory soon Dagabond. Respect is dead these days.
  14. Driving lights on is definately illegal in Victoria. It is around a $100 fine if not used in abnormal conditions (not sure of what they define as abnormal). It appears 4 in 5 SS Commodores have to have their driving lights on. The switch must call out "push me, push me" as soon as you hop in the car!
  15. It seems like the common problems so far are: - Brake rotors warping - Cup Holder - Power Seat Switch - Hood/Bonnet Release - Drivetrain Shunt - High Oil Temp problem (Ford known fix) Any I may have missed? Maybe it might be worth us having a permanent list of common problems listed somewhere that the moderators can add to when they are reported by more than one member. May be worth while for warranty issues. Cheers
  16. Wheels magazine have quoted it in a couple of stories. It alters the temp that the oil temp shuts down the XR6T. Wheels had the same problem after spirited driving. I think it is in the Car Of The Year Article.
  17. Sounds like it might be the oil temperature problem. If you haven't had the updated software flashed into your computer, the dealer should do it at the 3000km service.
  18. Thanks for the great info guys, I have contacted Craig and the wheels are in motion. He was very professional and was also very informative. Now we just have to agree on a change over price.... Cheers
  19. I am contemplating the purchase of an XR6 from Westpoint Ford, at Hoppers Crossing in Melbourne. Has anyone purchased their BA from them? I know that are one of our site sponsors, is there a contact at Westpoint that I should see? What's their after sale service like? Any other purchasing pointers would be appreciated. I dropped in on the weekend and they appear to be very professional. Cheers
