  1. Has anyone fitted the Herrod catback system to their XR6 n/a? Has anyone even seen one? Interested in knowing what the sound is like and what the new tip looks like? Any improvement in drivability etc? Also interested in knowing what people may have paid? Are Westpoint Ford a Herrod dealer?
  2. I'd also be in for a plain grill. Please keep us informed of your progress in getting them manufactured.
  3. Now that we appear to have many XR6 NA drivers on the site I am wondering is there a need for a seperate area for discussions that may be revevant only to the non-turbo XRs? (ie engine, exhaust, mods etc)

    BRAKE SHUDDER ISSUE

Chrislak, have you noticed a large amount of brake dust from the ultimates? I fitted ultimates to our 300ZX about 12 months ago, as you say they are great pads, but they generate a large amount of dust!

    BRAKE SHUDDER ISSUE

Ian, have DBA now got the rear rotors out? Any photos of them on your car?
  6. Has anyone else noticed that the view new posts doesn't sort by date/time? I find this to be a pain if I am logged on and do a view new posts, by the time I have gotten through reading all the posts an hour later I do another quick search to check and messages that may have been posted whilst I was reading etc. This used to work under the old forum but now the posts appear to be mixed up somehow!
  7. Anyone would think he was out driving it or something!
  8. When I fitted mine I noticed that a fair amount of force was required to get the "christmas tree" plugs all the way in. I would be fairly certain that this is your problem.
  9. Yeah, mine did same.... supposedly fixed at first service. Ford is aware of blemish on casting of pulley(s) and this problem should be fixed at first service. I had the same rubber on the front of the engine etc from the belt. It stops doing it after about 1000kms when the belt beds in. What I have noticed on every BA older than about 3 months is the power steering pulley hub and one other pulley hub (can't remember which) have surface rust forming on them, I have seen this on nearly all cars, it wasn't there when the car was new. I just think it looks a bit average on a new car.

    Ooouch Crash

Sorry to hear about your accident, glad it wasn't the XR! Ensure the police charge this guy for fleeing the scene etc.. Sometimes these things "get forgotten" by the police. This guy needs to get the max for fleeing the scene, it is becoming fairly common, I witnessed a driver hit a cyclist recently and then flee the scene, I dropped my wife out to attend to the cyclist and I chased the driver pulling him over and making him return to the scene, what an a$#e'ole!

    Cut Out

Sounds like it may have been the dreaded overboost situation that several members have reported. Get your dealer to download the faults from your computer and chances are you have had an overboost. I'm not too sure what the "Ford Fix" is for this.
  12. You wont notice any additional power with the snorkel on it's own, but it does look a bit better with the larger snorkel.
  13. Great Job on the new layout Chris! I love it. The only problems/concerns I've noticed so far are: - How do I view "new posts since last visit" like I used to? - I miss the quick reply box at the bottom of posts. - Us blueprint guys have to change the colour of our signatures as the background is the same colour (makes sense I suppose as Blueprint is everyones favourite colour!) Again, great job.
  14. I thought that they might have looked a bit average and put off buying mine for 5,000kms. When I fitted them, I wondered how I survived without them! I think they look very good, especially with blueprint, the black contrasts nicely.
  15. I just made a quick phone call to the dealer to verify that mine was effected, I'm not too sure of the accuracy of those dates I posted. I dropped the car in tonight, Westpoint have only just received the new sprockets in yesterday, they are getting ready to start replacing a few I think.
  16. Please post photos!
  17. Has everybody seen the above post on Ford Forums? Thread at Ford Forums I phoned Westpoint and it appears my car is affected, it goes in Friday for the fix :( This post is also worth a read:
  18. Well done Bazza, You were lucky that the pr$#ks didn't take the matter further with you though! There appears to be a major demand for Ford XR and Expensive Daewoo SS wheels at the moment, I have heard of numerous cases of wheels taken off the above vehicles. This is one of the main reasons I fitted an aftermarket upgrade alarm with a tilt and shock sensor and also wheel lock nuts. I was speaking to a guy on Friday whose SS ute had the wheels (all 4) removed whilst parked in his driveway, the pr%$ks dropped the car on it's sills after removing the wheels damaging: the sills, exhaust and brakes. You have all read about my incident when I drove with only one wheel nut (the locknut) on my front LH wheel! There may be a lesson here for all of us........ (buy a big bloody dog and leave chained to car!)
  19. Davo, Are you really averaging 11.5l/100kms? Is this highway driving? I am having trouble keeping mine in the 12l/100kms bracket.... :o
  20. Please post pics...... I am interested, thanks for the numbers and prices.
  21. Thanks for the numbers, any idea on the retail price of the auto set?

    BRAKE SHUDDER ISSUE

I'd also be keen to know your price... Best I've found for slotted is about $115 per rotor.
  23. What's the story with the "NA with teeth", have I missed something? Welcome Rob to the club, you'll enjoy your stay! We are now getting a few NA's, maybe we need our own chat area  Now the other Ford Forum and done away with the BA chat area I may spend more time here. (If that's possible)
  24. Whilst I was looking at my lights I noticed a fair amount of pitting in the glass lens, appears to be from gravel/stones etc. I feel the lights are at a bad height for collecting road debris.
  25. I attempted to cut the 3M stick-on light protector material to fit the driving lights today, is there a trick to this? I tried for a couple of hours and couldn't get an acceptable result, can anyone please provide some guidance? I also priced the inserts through Autobarn, would you believe they tried to charge $90+gst? I phoned Repco and they claim they are not a Hella agent anymore, anyone know where I can get these for a fair price? I am going to wire a relay as 56Mainline has done, I had a bit of a look and I think I might mount the relay in the relay/fuse box behind the battery. There is a gap in the rear right hand side that looks big enough for the relay and wiring. Did you look at doing this 56Mainline?
