  1. Very informative post, I will keep that in mind.
  2. I will play with the IR this weekend.. Interested to read your findings on the IR. By the way, where did you pick up your STB for $220? Most places want about $250 minimum.
  3. Cutsnake, I'm currently in Sydney on work and unable to finish my install just yet. I have run the power etc and will install the STB shortly. Have you come up with a solution for the remote, is it possible to somehow utilise the Ford ICC IR?
  4. Sorry to hear. Have you checked if the carpark has security cameras?
  5. Good Job TEAC, That post over at DBA was in response to my original post http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?act=ST&f=3&t=5370 I have also been emailing Fabian at TEAC resolving this to the state it is at now. Glad you have also been able to use the TEAC unit Cutsnake, thanks again for your original tutorial.
  6. How has eveyones DVD players been mounted under the seat? Are they just screwed to the car floor using self tappers or is there a better way?
  7. Photos, Photos, Photos!!!
  8. I must be going blind, I missed that thread totally! I have been watching the webpage and I can confirm, NOTHING has happened there yet!
  9. OK, I've been wondering for long enough........ What the hell is "CPC Performance"????
  10. I also think black would look good. Other colours may look a bit too much IMO
  11. Yeah I know, I just would like to use the "correct" plug. OK, I found the correct plug, you were right cqae, they are a Narva plug, part number: 56274BL. Found it at Autobarn, they were cheaper than SupaCheap and the plug is a better looking plug than the SupaCheap no-name plug (and it fits).
  12. Went to SupaCheap today and purchased a 4 pin plug (wasn't Hella though), guess what, it didn't fit........ Does anyone know where I can get the correct plug from? What is everyone else using when connecting to this plug? I want to connect power for my "soon to be" Blaupunkt DVD player/Interface.
  13. Locki, Have you done any work on the XR6 Non-Turbos? If so, what sort of figures are you getting and with what mods? Surely, if the Ford tuning is as bad as people say, a xede can unlock some of the lost power?!?! Thanks
  14. Hi Aaron, Do you have any more info on the XBox to ICC interface? I am keen to try this. Is there an XBox mod chip that you recommend?
  15. Chris, Thanks for that. Are you sure the menu for the IVSC is actually in the SATNAV unit? This seems a bit weird, wonder what I do if I don't have a SATNAV. Is the IR wire just a normal wire? Do you just join it up to the Blau Interface Cable? Can you get NTSC out of the X-Box easily? Is it Composite video? I suppose an invertor would be required as well? I'm a newby to X-Box only having PS2.
  16. Is it possible to get the compatable plugs from Ford Spares to plug into the mobile phone wiring under the dash? I would rather used the correct plug rather than just pushing spade connectors in there. Surely Ford sell something for mobile phone installations.
  17. What type of cable do I need for the sound, is it just 2xRCA -> 3.5mm stereo? Also, what do I need for the IR to work on the ICC whilst using the Blau BA Interface Cable?
  18. CDM> Didn't you use your IVSC-5501 in your install? I am going to do as you did and get my IVSC via Parts Express. Where did you buy the Blau BA Interface Cable and RCA Cables from? Now I just need to source a decent DVD player for a decent price. Also, do you know how to cycle between inputs on the IVSC-5501? (I may input both a DVD and Digital TV Tuner) By the way, great work on the write up!
  19. How do you change between the inputs of the IVSC-5501? I.E. If I have two or more devices as inputs into the IVSC how do I cycle between them?
  20. If I was to buy a Late model camira it would be an SV8 (I almost did)!
  21. There are two steering shudder type problems: - the rack bolt issue (this normally makes a clicking type noise), this has a Ford Fix, and - the Power Steering shudder (cavitation of the lines), there is currently no Ford fix.
  22. I actually paid trade price (less than you paid), I quoted the retail price in my post because some people are unable to get trade. I think you may have "paid" a bit more than $31.14 for your covers, aren't you buying a new car from the same dealer?
  23. I removed my rotors before painting. Easy to get off, just two bolts holding the calipers on and the rotors come straight off. Saves you getting paint on the hub bolts as well. Cut a circle out of an old pizza box (template), placed it over the hub and sprayed away! If you want to do it on the car you would need to lift both back wheels off the ground to enable you to turn the wheels.
  24. After removing the black dust spacers several months ago, I got sick of looking at the rusting rotor hubs. Today after spending $10 on some black high temp brake caliper paint and about 2 hours of my time, I painted them. I must say, they look heaps better, it's how Ford should have done it from the factory!
  25. Oh, I never even saw your post until now...... You were wondering if they would fit, well I have now confirmed they do indeed fit and are codified by Ford as suitable for the BA XR Falcons!
