    Got My T!

    1. Glovebox Key and Fuel Filler Keys 2. Sound like the premium rotors to me 3. As Trent stated above By the way, congratulations on the car, nice colour too!
  4. I took the car in to have the fuel filler looked at, they realigned the tank and the filler was right in the centre. This lasted about 1 week and it dropped again, I took the car back in about 2 weeks ago, and they went through the same process and realigned the tank, this time it doesn't appear to have moved ... yet. I looked at the new utes in the yard and about 1/3 of them were the same...
  5. Yeap, Ford Fiesta best small car and the Territory best SUV!!! Go Ford!
  6. It is the genuine Ford manual. Ford do not publish it themselves but licence it to a third party. That is why they are so expensive. The AU, also three volumes, is $590. There is a non-genuine version published by Ellerys at $50. I haven't tried an Ellerys, but I am not impressed with Gregorys' or Haynes' manuals when compared to the genuine article. I contacted Pitstop to ask about the Ellerys manual, they contacted Ellerys direct and it appears there isn't a manual yet for the BA........ Wish someone would hurry up and bring one out, it has only been 2 years!

    Cant See Gears

The reason this happens is because the LCD display from which your odometer is made from is horizontally polarised. Horizontal polarisation blocks the majority of light that reflected in the horizontal plane - this is to reduce glare (horizontal light). Your glasses will be polarised too - for the same reason - to reduce glare. The problem here is that your glasses and the dash combined are filtering out both the horizontal and vertical component of the light.... thus the text seems to disappear! (In theory this shouldnt happen as both the LCD and your glasses should be horizontally polarised, but if your glasses are cheap then the polarisation may not be dead level horizontal and thus its causing the problem - no offence intended) You will probably find that if you rotate your glasses slowly between 0-90 degrees and look through them you will be able to read the odometer clearly. Ross Ross, thanks for the explaination, bloody Bolle sunglasses, might have to pick up a set of $10 sunnies from Clints.
  8. Sounds and looks great, what sort of fuel economy are you seeing?

    Engine Smoke

Sounds like what normally happens when the pipe blows off the turbo outlet, normally the car runs like a chaff-cutter afterwards though.
  10. The MKII cars don't appear to have the covers, I checked out several yesterday when I was at Westpoint Ford. I think it is in response to the large number of faults Ford have experienced with the covers. I like my cover and am a bit sad they are gone.

Yeah, I've experienced both the speedo glare and the bonnet bulge glare. The speedo glare seems to be linked to my sunglasses, whilst wearing them at a certain time of the day, the dassh is hard to see (especially the digital readouts on the odometer and trip computer), if I remove them I can see them........ strange! The bonnet bulge glare I can live with!
  12. I looked in all of them too, I can't find anything related to save sent messages
  13. Why should we be forced to have a speedo that "ONLY" reads to 130 km/h? This won't stop drop kicks wrapping themselves around telegraph poles, bring in driver education and driver courses, bring in a realistic leaner/probationary program, there are lots of things that should be done before forcing vehicle manufacturers to fit 130 km/h speedos. Prices of cars will rise, granted only by a small margin, ADRs are now one of the most complex set of rules for a manufacturer to import a car under, lets make it even worse..

It appears that APS may have their own product.....
  16. It depends what you want out of the car. The XR8 will probably never be as fast as an XR6T... The XR8 will never corner as well as the XR6T standard... The XR8 will always have the V8 sound... The XR8 will always have the bonnet bulge (some like it, some don't)... If you want a cruise car for highway driving and a bit of a spurt around town the XR8 will fit the bill. If you want a fast car for red light drags, a car you can tweak easily, a car you can put down the 1/4 mile the XR6T is probably your car. Since owning my XR8 I have never regreted the decision to go with the eight. Horses for courses and it depends what you want out of the car.
  17. Since the upgrade whenever I send messages they are not saved in my sent messages folder, I have deleted all my messages in both the sent messages and inbox folders to no avail...... Anyone else having this same problem?
  18. Surely they aren't going to patch this up again?? Surely they are going to replace it this time... I feel for you, hope it all works out. You have convinced me to get an external trans cooler and bypass the radiator.
  19. Can you guys use radar detectors in WA? What brand/model unit is it? What brand/model is the 3 piece unit you are getting? By the way, love the car, been tossing up on getting the Sports Steering Wheel, I think I now will! I also see that Ford have a MKII tissue box, it is now black and blends in better, I think I need a life when I am talking about Ford Tissue Boxes!!
  20. Thing I hate about the ute tank is: I filled up today and let the tank get to almost empty, payed $75 to fill it, that was using a shopper docket too! Oh yeah, when cold my instantaneous fuel economy can hit 99l/100kms. It sounds like the XR6t's get very similar economy to the XR8's, I average around 15l/100km around town and 10l/100 on the highway.
  21. Hey Hey, let's have none of that!!!
  22. I get a snap type noise when I first turn on the A/C, sounds like the plastic contracting.
  23. Goldie's Car Great write up, it really looks the business Ian.
  24. This was also mentioned on "Today" this morning, I am sick of wowsers dictating the cars we should drive, most of these people wouldn';t even know their way around a car anyway!
