The biggest problem I have with doing this is finding somewhere suitable to mount the screen, where does everyone recommend for us guys without premium sound (bloody utes)? Also, the case you linked to takes in 12V dc, could be easier to get power than we think.

I can see where his concern/confusion has come from, all the press releases I read when this was first released in February mentioned that the instrument panel was the same as the Fairmont Ghia (but bluelit of course), refer to http://www.ford.com.au/inside_ford/press/V...file=foa297.htm for one example. My understanding of this was that the two lower lcd readouts would be different, as per the Fairmont. Is this not correct?

My XR6 used to do that on occasion, for no reason, run rough and almost stall etc, normally after first starting it. Turn it off and back on and it was fine. Ford could not find a fault. Touch wood, the XR8 hasn't done this yet!

Great thread, I have noticed a decline/change in the forum for the last few months. I came here to learn/share experiences about a common interest, the BA falcon. I have never actually owned an XR6t, having owned an XR6 and now an XR8 I still feel/felt that I belonged on this forum. I have been an active member here for a fair while, since Jan03. I also frequent the "other" forums and this has always been my favorite, I wouldn't like that to change...... What is the answer? I don't really know, but I have seen this happen on other new forums that I have been a member of over the past years, some have gone by the wayside, some have degraded so much that I left, and some cracked down on the new influences/stirrers and turned around the downward spiral. Shifty, Are you looking at bringing out a kit for the XR8s? edit> just looked deeper into your webpage and it appears you do, the front page only mentions BA 6/XR6/Turbo, whereas the Ford page also lists XR8, I assume this means you have them for the 8. <edit

At V8 Superstars Murphy was calling Rick Kelly "Crash Bandicoot". I thought that was pretty funny for his team mate to pay him out!

I also thought the show was lacking a bit of "show", for $18 it was a bit thin on entertainment value. I did find a set of MKII alloy pedal covers for $170 though at the FPV/New Oak Ford stand.

I have done the mod to my NA (XR8), did basically the reverse, I fitted the XR6t intake to the side of my pod.

Are you serious, that is a bargain.. What other bargains did you see (to really make me sorry I missed it)!?

I worked it out last night, the wires with the black trace are the negative wires. Thanks all.

I went to Crown Casino last night and watched the filming of V8 SuperStars. It was an excellent night. Did anyone else go? After the filming of the show the only driver to remain behind for autographs etc was Russell Ingal, the security had to almost drag him out to make him leave. He is a real down to earth guy that appears to have a love of his fans. I even had him sign my shirt. The meal was pretty good and the alcohol just kept coming, overall I think it was $99 well spent. Of course there was plenty of debate about the Marcus Ambrose "brake testing" incident and the fact the Rick Kelly can't drive... I would highly recommend the night to all V8 fans.

My ute has metal film and the reception is great, it is even better than my sedan was with non-metallic film!

Thanks Turbo6man, I wasn't too sure on the window trim. I will rip it out tonight to replace the last two speakers. It looks at first glance that the sides and rear trim is three pieces, so they should be fairly easy to get off once I remove the window trim.

Sounds like a good setup, does the passenger airbag cover just pull off or are there screws?

After putting my new speakers into the doors of my ute, I can now go above 20 and it doesn't sound like crap. Amazing the difference, the original speakers are some of the cheapest speakers I have seen, I was shocked when I pulled them out.

Has anyone removed the rear speakers in their ute? Do you just pull all the trim out to get to them? Which trim needs to come out? Cheers

I think I worked it out, each side has one wire with a black trace, I assumed this was the negative. I read on ff that it was the positive but I am fairly certain it is not, I just wanted confirmation.
