I ordered a Auto Meter boost gauge 6107 thru egauges.com.I paid $140aud delivered for the gauge and the mounting pod.I got a price from Autobarn before I ordered it and they wanted $175 just for the gauge..
Ill be going out in about 3 weeks to have a go.I have a edit with custom tune.Im also thinking of flashing the car back to standard to do a comparison of stock to edited on the same night when the conditions should be as close as possible.Has anyone tried this??
I had the exact same problem with my car.It was running 4psi standard and would only go to 6psi on 8psi and 10psi maps. When I got the custom tune it only made 165rwkw standard. The tuner found their was a problem with the wiring of the electronic boost controller.Apparently its underneath the battery...
I cant see how his title is blaming the EDIT.To me it looks that with the extra power he has achieved thru the EDIT he needs a new clutch and the boost controller is a car issue not EDIT.Can anyone start a topic these days without people firing up and starting a fight..
I know what its like to drive with 160rwkw.I had custom tune done on Tuesday. In standard it made 164rwkw.There was a problem with the elec boost controller.Peak boost was 4psi and dropped down to 2.5psi.Now I know why I didnt think it went that well..
If it is boost leak would I hear anything different when I have the higher psi maps in or will it sound same as standard?? Hopefully its an easy fix when custom tune is done on 31st...
Im going up to the Dyno day at Newcastle on Sunday,I wasnt going to throw it on the dyno but now I think I will to check power levels. The car is booked in for custom tune in 2 weeks so hopefully its only something wrong with the software and not my car..
I just installed a boost gauge in my car today and went for a drive with 8psi map.The boost peaked at 5psi but was mainly around 4psi.I pulled over and loaded in the 10psi map and the boost was exactly the same.. Ive had the edit for just over a month and I have never been overly impressed with it.Now I know why.. I will connect my boost gauge to a mates car tomorrow just to make sure!! Any ideas of what the problem could be..Not happy Jan..
If you want to save money just order the snorkel and install yourself..Part #BAF-9C676B..I paid $54 for mine and it shouldnt take anymore than an hour to fit.
What a sleepa that little thing is ..Looks like a old Corolla.at first it sounded like a 20b rotor but the more I listened I couldnt work out whats in it..Anyone know much about this beast??
Im also looking at getting the custom tune soon in Sydney as well. The best thing to do is read as much as you can about the different tuners and then talk to the ones which you are interested in going to.I have spoken to John at Intune and also Jim at Croydon Racing in the last week. I think it would be awsum if HPF or Nizpro came up to Sydney for a holiday(hint hint) and while they were here they could squeeze in a couple of tunes..
Myself and a couple of mates will be up the central coast that weekend so we are thinking of coming up for a look at some nice T's.What will be the cost if we want to get dyno and when do you need to know??
It tells you down the bottom of dyno what gear its in(ive only seen 3rd) and im only looking at auto Xr6ts which have same ratio..Just after a guide anyway
Ill be using the M7 tomorrow to go to the Top Fuelers so I will try to remember to check out the speedo then.I just found a Nizpro dyno sheet which shows both.gives me a better idea..
I have been looking at a few dyno sheets from different tuners and some have the rpm and others have kmh.Does anyone know what rpm at 80, 100 and 120kmh or have a dyno graph of a Xr6t or with both kmh and rpm so it gives me a better idea of how early in the rev range these tuners are getting power. All the graphs ive looked at have been in 3rd gear.I was gunna go for a drive to get a rough idea but I have a mild case of bourbonitis
There is a list of tuners in Sydney on Capa website.Tunehouse might be worth a call.I know Injection Perfection were pretty big a few years ago at Summernats when they started the Dyno comps down there..Im hoping to go for a drive early in the new year down south to get Nizproed...
Ive had my XR6T for a month, has 30k on it and ive done following *Lowered *Capa Edit(custom tune soon) *K&N Filter *Typhoon CAI.. I think that once I get custom tune that will be all I will be doing as the minister for finance is 3mths pregnant and she keeps telling me all these things we are going to buy for the bub..
There is a place on ebay that sells them ://stores.ebay.com.au/Online-Performance-Autosotorsport,intune motorsport sell them as well.Herrods probably have them too..
