  2. The product that involves drilling a hole into the pcm is done by SAS.I think the guys name is Dave Alexander.There was a story about it on Autospeed site.

  6. I will check with my mates next week and if they r still keen I'll get the date posted up in the events section.. Some guys from Rocket Industries had a reaction time comp the other week when I raced and 20 of them went in it.$200 for the winner and if your reaction is good enough you might be close to winning some cash from the WSID with their comp ..
  7. When there is a bit of cash involved I will be interested to have a crack.If im happy with my first run im gunna try and getting a good reaction time. I would love a bit of cash to go towards valve springs

Myself and a couple of mates are hoping to go on the 10th of May.I want to try some tips that guys on here mentioned and have another run b4 I can afford to get the valve springs done..The sad bit is im hoping for a 13.. We are also thinking of having our own reaction time comp where you put in $10 and best reaction time gets the cash. It would be good to organise a night like this when some of the sydney and canberra etc guys go and we can catch up and compare our cars tunes etc and most of all have loads of fun.
  9. I agree with DBOSS.The low down power all over my tune that I got..Im sure you are enjoying the new power you have.Id recommend getting a trans cooler.It is only going to help..

Sorry to hijack...The only way to solve this "slow track" belief is for Extreme F6(Simon) to come to Sydney and tune some of these cars and take them out there to see what they do as he would have a very good idea of what the tunes will produce down the 1/4.. I remember reading about Simon was planning a tuning trip to Sydney mid-late last year and I'm sure others would be keen for him to try and do it.
  13. I still cant understand how a badly prepared track during mid week would affect times done in a XR6T unless its putting out 300+rwkw and using standard tyres.. Im sure if cars can do 8sec times on 26x8.5inch slicks than XR6T's shouldnt be having any trouble..
  14. I know that chopper was meant to be going out last night.Maybe we could find out how he went last night. I cant see how tuners can say that WSID is around .5 of a second slower than other tracks,pretty poor excuse I think.
  15. I know that if you fit a trans cooler to your car and you go in for a warranty claim on your gearbox you will be knocked back as the gearbox has been modified from standard.Its stupid because you are actually helping the gearbox.
  16. My car only made 164.9rwkw when I had it on dyno to get custom tune.There was a problem with the electronic boost controller and it peaked at 4psi at 80kmh and by 130 it was down to around 2.5psi. I wonder if the other low figures have a similar problem..

So Jordak are you saying that the tuners that do the more aggressive boost down low arent a safe tune?I dont doubt the dyno sheets and the reason the power was so low standard was there was a problem with the EBC.. I agree that there are alot of reasons why the 1/4 mile and mph was low,could be my driving,heat soak,valve springs,the lack of torque down low etc etc..
  18. The power was around the 240 mark but was losing power up high too early.. I think Simon should get away from that bad weather in WA and come over to Sydney for a few days.I have free accomodation and there are 2 dyno shops about 10 min away..

I dropped my car at workshop yesterday.They spent a couple of hours with car on dyno.The car would do one power run and be ok,once he backed up another run the valve springs started to play up.I have had this happen to me but only after I have backed off.. I dont know if the valve springs are affected by the tune or mine are just CRAP.From what ive read Dynowog has the answer but who knows.I am looking at changing them but the prices quoted for labour range from around $600 to $800 which is alot of money for me to fork out at the moment. They didnt charge me for the time spent with the car and were helpful. I sent a pm to Simon last week and he has offered to do a help out if I can find someone who will let me use dyno to get graphs etc. At the moment im thinking of going back out when it cools down a bit and seeing if car goes any better. It feels good on the street and comfortably pulled away from a standard one on the other night so im baffled..
  20. I would be seriously considering going to melbourne if I was you..Its not that long a drive when you consider how many quick and reliable XR6T's have come out of HPF and NIZPRO.. Its easy for a tuner to give you dyno power but its the results you get at the track that are more important in my view and I dont know of any Sydney cars with just custom tune that have got as good results as other states(Vic & WA).If there is any I'd love to know who tuned them..

  22. The car is booked in on the 29th.The tuner said that the car should have gone better but thought it was a bit weird that my mates car was off pace as well and was done by a diff tuner. I did see another XR6T race that did a 12.8,it was shockwave and was wondering if anyone knows the car and if his times were what he was expecting.I tried to talk to him but ran out of time.Hopefully the car gets sorted and I'll go back out to WSID when its cool and do a better time..
