  5. Even if its just an outlet for hot air, it could lower under bonnet temperatures by over 10°C. Its ideally placed, at the point where the overbonnet airflow sucks hardest (a few inches infront of the windsheild), and its big enough to cover most of the central part of the bonnet.... Rather than directly increasing power, it would alow the engine to make more power in a slightly more idealistic fassion, with the hot air being sucked out more efficiently, giving the cooling system maybe the slightest, oh so slightest, of helping hands.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry. On a normal XR8 bonnet there is no wind sucking going on at the back of the bulge. At 120klm's on the freeway, pouring rain, you can watch all the little drops of water dancing around, going no where, on the back of the bulge With the vents it might give it some "flow thru" ventilation, but not much sucking
  6. It's obvious you have never ridden a bike in a jungle of cars, The benefit of loud pipes on a bike is if the car drivers cant see you then as sure as hell they will hear you. And like cars there are a few idiots on bikes out there that ruin it for everybody else.

  9. I'm 46 in canberra with a 5 month old BA XR8 insured with nrma.Costs $820 a year for $50,000, just put 18" wheels on - no change to policy, asked about CAI and any type of exhaust and they said no worries, no price change , just let us know if and when you do it and they will update policy
  10. I have seen a guy on ebay selling BA XR6 17" and 18" mag wheels to suit BA and another set with correct offset to fit AU's. They are copies and when I rang the guy to enquire about them he told me they were Enkei copies and you couldn't tell the difference, $1000 for 4 bare rims and $2000 fitted with Nangkangs or something similar, delivered I think ??
  11. years ago I knew a guy who owned a XYGT and unfortunately earned the nickname ankles after his flywheel did a similar thing, one piece went thru the back of the dash and came out near the rhs wiper arm and another piece went thru the floor and hit him in the ?????
  12. I had a BAXR6 n/a and it would flare up to 2000rpm the same as above , after numerous visits to Mcgrath Ford in Canberra they kept telling me it's within spec's The same thing they are telling me now that my BAXR8 auto can take anything up to 15 seconds to find reverse. What a load of
